Oh! I had a passing thought once or twice that forgetting Wylan might have been intentional on Jesper`s part but it`s so great to get a confirmation from our resident sharpshooter himself:)
Honestly, it goes so well with the way Kit plays Jesper! However little Jesper learnt about Wylan during that day they spent together, they still communicated for quite some time. And there`s no way Jesper didn`t feel the spark between them, the beginning of something special, the hope for true love he`d been looking for. And when Wylan left this hope promptly got squashed under the unforgiving heel of reality. Of course, he was hurt! I mean, just look at him:
He tries to go for nonchalance, sure. But the look in his eyes gets grim; his voice goes lower and is about to tremble - he tries to rein in his emotions. Also, after Jesper transports himself into that moment in his memory, he takes a step back - away from Wylan - employing his trademark technique of getting himself physically farther from the potential source of (emotional!) harm.
Wylan felt that spark too, I`m sure of that. But he didn`t let himself believe that he could have something good and special in his life ("too nice" indeed - hope you choked on something in that moment, Jan Van Eck). Well, this just says it all:
He really wasn`t. Even when Wylan sees Jesper, in his eyes joy is still mixed with disbelief and doubt. And in a few seconds it`s his hope that gets squashedš
They deserve so much happiness, and happiness they will get.
