my lifeâs a lie
Letâs all take a moment and thank biology that our internal organs donât itch.
Fun fact: digestion is actually really painful but your brain just tells you itâs fine the same way it tells you not to bite off your fingure even though you can
thatâs⌠frustrating
Hey quick question why the FUCK doesnât it do that for menstrual cramps
most people in skyrim: yeah about 500 years ago tiber septim founded the empire and then about 200 years ago the oblivion crisis happened and thats just about every important event
every nord: at the DAWN OF TIME my greeat great grandfather HANDS FUCK-BEARD, the greatest hero who EVER LIVED, built this farm with with nothing but his NUTS
I love how lovely the Cool Kids are? :)
Like
Itâs so nice to have a show where the popular kids arenât horrible
And instead is like âActually if u wanna be popular, be a nice person who is fun to be aroundâ
The way I saw it was
The cool kids are a bunch of millenials planning a party
And theyâre just like
Sour Cream: Yes! We have all this great food!!!â-but nothing to eat it withâŚ
Sadie: Iâ-Brought plates.
Sour Cream: *cries tears of joy*
:D
<3 WORTHY OF CELEBRATORY GLOWSTICKS <3
It wasnât even âwe have nothing to eat withâ because he explicitly said ânow I donât have to clean upâ
He didnât wanna do the dishes and Sadie just saved him that
These are the reasons why I love the Cool Kids so much. No other cartoon has ever had such nice âcool kidsâ! But here? They truly ARE cool, and thatâs because theyâre so nice. This really gives kids the message of how kindness and acceptance truly make you a cool person. Bless this show.

More specifically, for the actual direction you are planning on turning.
I work at a daycare with infants.
One of our baby girls is fat, in the 99th percentile for her age. She is super cute and sweet. Lately, she has been sick with various breathing issues, so she has been reluctant to take her bottles. Normally, sheâll take 4 ounces of formula at lunch and 8 ounces in the afternoon. Today, I was lucky to get to her take 5 all day.
There was a substitute covering a lunch break in my classroom today. We emphasized to her that we need to keep trying to get the baby to drink her bottle until she finished it. She said, âWhy are you guys so worried about taking her bottle?â
My coworker replied, âThatâs where all her nutrients are. She needs the nutrients and the water.â
To which the substitute replied, âBut sheâs so fat. She doesnât need it.â
Thin privilege is a small, pretty baby getting better childcare because the caretaker doesnât think sheâs too fat to be allowed to eat.
This reminds me of a cousin of mine who ended up with her kids being taken away from her by social services for a number of reasons but mostly for nearly killing her baby daughter. How?
By starving her. She insisted that her baby was âtoo fatâ and had an aim to remove any and all âchubbynessâ so her baby would be thin. Sheâd already been warned by her doctor about the baby not getting enough food, but insisted she knew best.
After several months of this her baby passed out cold one day and was rushed into hospital where the doctors found her to have severe malnutrition, a low body temperature and low pulse rate. They asked my cousin what sheâd been feeding her daughter and she said âone bottle of skimmed milk a day. I donât want her growing up fat.â
Even after nearly killing her daughter my cousin maintained her view that fat = bad and ended up with all her kids taken from her because she was starving them and neglecting them.
When your fatphobia leads you to starving your own children then youâve got serious problems.
(Note. She still, to this day, maintains the view that she was right and the doctors were wrong. âThey just want fat kids so they can keep employed treating them for all those diseases that being fat causes.â = her actual words.)
My mom had me dieting with her when I was eleven. She had me eating less than 600 calories a day because she was worried I was going to âget huge.â She even grounded me once because she found out my friends were bringing me lunches! I ended up passing out, going to the ER, and getting two IVs at once BC I was so goddamn dehydrated. Soooooo surprised they didnât call child services⌠And looking back, this was the root of my anorexia. Iâm nearly 22 and still fighting it. Please donât starve your fucking children.
For fucks sake babies are SUPPOSED to be fat, what is wrong with people? Itâs just stored energy, and growing children need stored energy - an 11 year old is just about to hit some major growing years. Damn.Â
Fatphobia
Is
Real
and it kills
This is no joke. people will literally starve their own babies cause they donât want them getting fat. A parent brought in their six month old baby who was having breathing issues and kept getting sick. the parent was asked if the baby was eating regularly and the parent straight up told the doctor that they only feed the baby once a day. ONCE A DAY. A FUCKING BABY. they even had the nerve to say because they didnât want the baby to get fat. people like this are real. they would rather have a dead baby than a fat one.
My youngest son is a very big boy and has been since he was born. When he was 10 months old I took him for his well-baby check and vaccinations. The nurse noted his weight and said, quite casually, âHe is in the 99th percentile for weight so he is at risk for obesity. You may want to keep an eye on that.â I said, âHe is exclusively breastfed. He refuses to eat any solids yet.â What did she expect me to do? What would it mean to âkeep an eye onâ an exclusively breastfed babyâs weight?Â
She backed off saying, âWell he looks fine!â â proving once again that weight bias is not truly about health â But I know many other parents who are not as informed as I am about weight science and size diversity would react to this interaction by policing their childâs food intake, if not as an infant, then when he was an older child. This is exactly the type of seemingly-inconsequential interaction that starts the ball rolling on a lifetime of dieting, disordered eating, negative body image, and weight-based abuse for too many fat people.
Years later when he was five, another doctor measured his weight and height and commented that he is off the charts on both, but âat least he is in proportion.â And if he was not âin proportion,â I am sure I would have been advised once again to âwatch his weight.âÂ
I no longer allow healthcare providers to weight my children unless it is absolutely medically necessary. They are unable to control their weight talk, which is a known harm for children.
We need to completely eliminate weight talk from medicine, especially when it comes to children. Even the smallest exposure can have terrible consequences.
WtfâŚ
A friend from college had been going to the doctor because she was having trouble breathing. She was told to lose weight. Over the course of several years, she went back to the doctors time and time again, telling them that sheâd been sticking to the diet but because of her breathing problems she had been unable to even walk for more than 20 minutes at a time. The doctor got her into an exercise programme and told her that she just needed to really try to lose weight because that was clearly the reason for her breathing problems. By the time they found the tumour on her lungs, it was inoperable. She only lived three months after diagnosis. She was 25. Sheâd had the tumour for over five years. The doctor was so focused on the fact that my friend was âfatâ, that they refused to look for any underlying cause. They killed her.
Weight-first treatment KILLS. Fatphobia KILLS.
I have 2 scary stories to share about fatphobic doctors & parents harming their childs/patientsâ health:
1. The 4 years old daughter of a friend of mine came to our house to spend the weekend. She gave me a letter from her mom that said that the child was in a glutenfree diet because she was getting âawfully fatâ when eating cookies or bread (my celiac ass; who gets dhiarrea and loses a scary amount of weight whenever I eat something with gluten was like â???â).
You can bet that I went to the supermarket with the kid and told her âgo & take whatever you feel like eatingâ and the poor child came back smiling with her arms full of biscuits and cupcakes.
She didnât got sick (as a celiac would get) and told me later that she hated the diet her mother made her follow; because her cousins didnât had to pass through that.
And whatâs the scariest thing about this story? Her mother was a NURSE. A fucking nurse who didnât have a clue of the harm that she was doing to her daughterâs body!
2. My little sister started to feel fatigued and dizzy at 9 years old. She felt nauseated at the sight of food and had abdominal pain that increased with physical activity.
Mom got her to the ER and the doctor dismissed it saying: âsheâs fat and probably is feeling ill after eating too much burgers, get her to make some exercise and she will be better in no timeâ.My mom didnât felt ok with the diagnosis and took my sister with a second doctor who also told her that âthe child was just fatâ.
My sisterâs skin was starting to get yellow as the days passed and the abdominal pain was getting awful so my mom (heaven bless her!) got her to the ER for the third time:
SHE HAD STAGE 4 HEPATITIS AND WAS ABOUT TO DIE.
She survived after a long and painful recovery who involved being in bed for a whole year (remember that weâre speaking of a 9 years old child). Luckily they saved her liver and she didnât went through a transplant⌠but let this sink:
If it werenât for my mother, fatphobia would have killed her. Fatphobia kills kids and teenagers, fatphobia kills inocent people everyday. It treats human beings as lesser than others and hurts them in their most vulnerable times.
Itâs a real shame that we all have so much stories to share about this issue. A REAL SHAME.
Future doctors, interns, and residents following me:
FUCKING TAKE NOTE OF THIS!
Donât let bias against your fat patients kill them!
(#and this is just when we actually go to the doctor and tell them we have problems #how many of us just give up #or wonât mention anything that seems like too much of a âfatâ problem)
iâd really like my thin followers to reblog this if you can. fat people are already here for each other, we need you guys to help us out too. this is something i never see anyone actually talking about in-depth, and itâs disappointing. be there for your fat siblings, too.
Not trying to take over this post but I've had similair things at docters with me being trans and autistic. "Oh are you sure that you dont have the flu because your transgender" yes im pretty damm sure. I've also had similair things like i have a skin condition that i was diagnosed with when i was five. Its very itchy and i need medication for it. "Oh are you sure its not in your head?" Yah pretty sure considering everyone can see it. My mother had breast cancer and even thought that she did amoung other conditions and had docter gnore her for years. She eventually got it looked at and it turns she was right. Her surgery did get botched but she is alive atleast. In general i do agree with trust your docters but if you feel like something isn't right please get a second opinon. Please dont think that you yourself have more qualifications than a docter. Please go see one if theres a problem and not try to fix it yourself unless it's defintily something minor. That being said docters can be wrong and they can be biased. Humans make mistakes. Trusr your instincts and get help elsewhere

I love how yokai range from âYou smiled at me a little bit so now I will kill you with my razor-sharp hair.â to âHey man, heard you were feeling down on yourself again so I thought Iâd drop by and do a funny little dance.â
A remarkable Jacobean re-emergence after 200 years of yellowing varnish Courtesy Philip Mould
PAINT RESTORATION OF MESMERIZING
I saw this on Twitter. Heâs using acetone, but a cellulose ether has been added to make it into a gel (probably Klucelâthis entire gel mixture is sometimes just called Klucel by restorers, but Klucel is specifically the stuff that makes the gel).Â
Normally, acetone is too volatile for restoration, but when itâs a gel, it becomes very stable and a) stays on top of the porous surface of the painting, and b) wonât evaporate. So it can eat up the varnish.
It looks scary, but acetone has no effect on oils, and jelly acetone is even less interactive with the surface of the paint or canvas.
Will someone PLEASE clean the mona lisa
For those who are wondering, they cleaned a copy of the Mona Lisa made by one of Da Vinchiâs students, and hereâs a side by side comparison:
CLEAN THE FUCKING MONA LISA.
A couple problems with cleaning the Mona Lisa:
The Mona Lisa is a glazed painting.
A Direct Painting is one in which the artist mixes a large amount of paint of the correct value and shade the first time, and applies it to the painting. A Glazed Painting is a painting in which an underpainting is painted, generally in shades of gray or brown, and a allowed to dry, before layers of very thin glaze - a mixture of a tiny bit of pigment and a lot of oil - is applied to the surface. Some artists, such as Leonardo, choose to work this way because it provides an incredible sense of light and illumination (look at how the real Mona Lisa seems to glow).
The Mona Lisa is an incredible work of glazed painting, but that makes it fragile, so fragile that many conservators donât want to work on it because itâs extremely difficult and a conservation effort go wrong for many many reasons. One of the reasons it could go wrong is that the glazes and the varnish layers are actually a very similar chemical composition, and a conservator could accidentally strip off layers of glaze while removing the varnish.Â
In fact, in 1809 during its first restoration when they stripped off the varnish, they also stripped off some of the top paint layers, which has caused the painting to look more washed out than Leonardo painted it.Â
The Mona Lisa also has a frankly ridiculous amount of glaze layers on it, as Leonardo considered it incomplete up until he died, He actually took it with him when he left Italy (fleeing charges of homosexuality), meaning it never even got to the family who had commissioned it, and instead constantly altered it, trying to get it just a touch more perfect every time. That makes it really fragile, with countless layers of very thin paint, many of which have cracked, warped, flaked, or discolored. Itâs not just the top layer, its layers and layers of glazing throughout the painting that have slowly discolored or been damaged over time.
Speaking of damage, look at the cracking. Thatâs called craquelure; it happens with many paintingâs (even ones that arenât painted with this technique) because the paint shrinks as it dries, or the surface itâs painted on warps. Â Notice that the other painting has very little of it, even though itâs almost the same age.
The reason the Mona Lisa has so much craquelure is because Leonardo was highly experimental, almost to the point of it being his biggest flaw. There were established painting techniques, and then there were Leonardoâs painting techniques.  The established painting techniques were created in order to insure longevity and quality, but Leonardo didnât stick to any of them. This has made his work a ticking time bomb of deterioration.Â
Donât believe me, check it out:
This is how most people think The Last Supper looks
But this is actually a copy done by Andrea Solari in 1520.
The actual Last Supper looks like this:
The Last Supper has been painstakingly and teadiously restored, with conservators sometimes working on sections as small as 4 cm a day. To get to it youâve got to walk through a series of airlocks (AIRLOCKS!?!?!) and they only allow 15 people at a time because the moisture from your breath and your skin particles will damage it. Despite all of the precautions and restoration, it still looks like that.
This is because Leonardo painted the last supper using highly experimental methods. He didnât use the traditional wet-into-wet method that fresco painters used, and insead painted onto the dry plaster on the wall, meaning the paint did not chemically adhere. Before he even died the painting had already begun to flake. Itâs a miracle itâs still there at all.
Theyâve done what restoration they can on The Last Supper because the painting will absolutely disappear if they donât. The Mona Lisa, which is delicate, but much more stable, doesnât need the same kind of attention. And, like many of his works, is just too delicate to touch, and the risk of doing irreparable damage to it is far too high. The Mona Lisa is insured for something like 800 million dollars, and thatâs a lot of money to be ruined by one wrong brush stroke. (fun fact: the most expensive painting ever sold was also a Leonardo, the Salvator Mundi, and it went for 450 million dollars.)
Furthermore, there are probably only 20 or so authenticated Leonardo paintings in the whole world. If you look through the list, most of them arenât even fully done by him, are disputed, or arenât even finished.  Itâs simply too difficult and too risky to restore the Mona Lisa, one of Leonardoâs only finished and mostly intact works, when thereâs hardly any more of his paintings to fall back on.
Now the painting you see in the video above is 200 years old, not 600 years old, and I assure you, the conservators decided the risk to restore it was minimal (after extensive research, paint testing, x-raying, gamma radiation, etc.) and that the work they were doing was worth the risk based on the paintingâs value.
Conservators make the decision all the time about how much they can do for a painting, because really, they have the ability to completely strip a painting of all varnish and glazes and just repaint the whole thing (which happens to a lot of badly damaged paintings, especially when thereâs no way to save them - one of the very small museums in my area recently deaccessioned a Monet because it was barely original, and no one wants to look at a Monet thatâs only 20% Monetâs work) - but doing that to the Mona Lisa, removing the artistâs hand from the most famous piece of artwork in history? Hell No.
(also, Iâm not a conservator but Iâll be applying to a conservation grad program sometime next year, so sorry if any of my info is at all inaccurate)Â
I found this really interesting, thanks for sharing.
Moss Graffiti: A How To Guide
are you fucking for real
Imagine being the criminal who returns weekly to make sure his fucking plant art is doing alright
Later
I found it! I fucking found it! In my fucking dash! Nothing can stop me now! *EVIL GIGGLES*
OMG SAME RIGHT I SAW IT A YEAR AGO AND WAS UPSET I COULDNT FIND IT AGAIN
âAre you my mom?!â
Sweet generalization.
Itâs not about whether a character is trans or gay. Gay characters make sense. People have been gay for millennia. Trans however. Not the case. In a high fantasy setting, how in the balls are they going to perform surgery where they change the sex of the character??? It makes no sense at all. Theyâd have to explain it. And remember, this is high fantasy, Game of Thrones is also in that category. This is a time where they would reach into your body with an object strikingly similar to a salad tossing spoon to yank out a small piece of arrowhead. Pretty sure they hadnât figured out a surgery as complex as a sex changeâŚ
The people complaining that there arenât enough gay/trans people in stuff like this are just as bad if not moreso than the people who complain about gay/trans people being in stuff like this.
Create your own fantasy world filled with nothing but gay/trans people. Make it so that being heterosexual is the minority. All the power to you. Good luck trying to create it.
You donât have to have surgery to be transgender. Lots of transgender people donât. Transgender people, people who identify with the gender not corresponding with their birth sex, have existed before the surgery. And the existence of and recognition of a third sex or dual sex existed in pre-modern times in lots of places are the world. So, for one, your âhow in the balls are they going to perform surgeryâ question doesnât actually matter. They donât need to in order for transgender people to exist. But if they did want to include transgender people who undergo physical changes to reflect their gender/sexual identity, in a HIGH FANTASY world, thereâs actually a really easy answer to that:
âHow are you going to make someone trans in a fantasy setting full of magic spells, potions, and artifacts?â
shout out to the elixir of sex shift for covering more than just a gender binary.
also lets not forget that in ye old days (aka time of the ancient greeks (aka the bc years)) that people drank the urine of pregnant mares to feminize themselves. like, trans people find a way ;)
âŚthe fucking Sumerians had trans people, brosky.
Sumerians.
They didnât even have fucking iron, but they had trans women.

OKAY I WORK IN A FABRIC STORE AND ONE TIME THIS LITTLE OLD LADY CAME UP TO ME AND SLAMMED THE INDEPENDENCE DAY ONE DOWN ON THE COUNTER AND SAID, âTHIS. THIS IS WHAT OUR COUNTRY NEEDS.â
I had an older man come into the fabric store that I used to work in and dropped 3 bolts of the firefighter one on my counter and said, âI need this. I donât know what Iâm gonna do with it, but I need it.â a man behind him then yelled, âPyjamas!â and the first man said, âMy husband recommends pyjamas.âÂ

robin williams was rad as hell..Â
Iâm still fucking devastated about this.
Same. Iâll never get over it and nothing has been the same since.
Just want to point out that Christopher Reeve was considering suicide before Robin Williams showed up. He didnât just make him laugh, he saved Reeveâs life. Also, he paid for Reeveâs medical bills from the accident.
*stillgrosssobbingoverthis*
I will never get past his death.
Yeah, Iâm still not over this
The most beautiful, funny people are sometimes the ones hurting the most - and the best at hiding it.
Itâs worth noting that Williams had a serious physical illness that affected his mental capacities, caused major paranoia, and drove him to suicidal thoughts and actions. He was more than just depressed.
But yes, we suffered great loss when he died. Memory EternalâŚď¸
Personal opinons
Everybody should be equals no matter their place of birth, skin, religon, sexuality or gender.
Forcibly choosing certain people *cough cough* caitlyn jenner *cough* as the image of transgender folks. Its not a good look. Please just listen to us.
You dont need to understand someone to respect them. I dont understand religon. Its not my thing but i still respect those that belive diffrently to me. Not that hard. If someone says they are a rainbow unicorn you dont need to understand them just respect their wishes even if it sounds ridiculous to you.
Animal rights organizations are known to fake footage (pay people to torture animals or do it themselves) they also routinely steal peoples pets *cough* peta *cough*. They arent worth supporting.
Animals dont need rights. They cant do anything for them. That and its alot to ask. Instead i prefer animal welfare which should always be encouraged to be improved on. That does help animals as it means they get better care instead of just a piece of paper.
Support small shelters. They usually do want to help animals and arent in it for money.
Throwing away old furs is more disrespectful. Either find a new home for them or donate them to someone caring for wildlife.
Fake fur or vintage furs arent promoting furs nor are you giving the people who kill animals money by buying them. *hint for the ar folks*
Fake fur is worse for the enviroment than real fur but no animals get killed for it directly.
Fur farms can be humane if ran correctly. While fur is uneeded people will always buy it. Everything from the animal gets used. Their feces and urine are sold for studies or as hunting scents any scrap fur such as tails are now days typically sold and thei meat is often given to zoos.
Most zoos help conservation. Every time ive been I've seen happy healthy animals. Most of which are captive bred and wouldn't survive a day in the wild. Especially the endangered ones which would be extinct otherwise.
If you change your mind on your gender or sexuality its A OK as its just you working things out.
Guns dont kill people. People do. While having heavier gun restrictions and less guns may have less gun deaths overall i think the level of deaths would stay the same. (i often see people lying about americas gun system ar-15 arent full automatic and they do check for criminal record) America needs better mental health care. People need help and arent getting it. Theres also the whole thing of violance being imbodied into culture.
This is more australia specific (my own country) but alot of folks here act like boat people get given things for free their whole life. On the goverments own webpage it explains that they get a helping hand for a months with a payment that anyone lookinh for work can get. They also get given only a small unit to live in for a few months that they still need to pay rent for.
Tropy hunting is something i dont like and find distasteful but you can dislike something and agree that its needed. It funds protection for endangered species for animals in places like africa. People dont have it great there and often loose livestock from wildlife. They also typically only kill old ones or ones that are causing problems (like older male elephants killing others babies)
Snares are cruel
Leg traps can be humane if checked often. (Animal will still be stressed so im not super keen)
Hunting with dogs is cruel unless the dog is only luring them out. Letting the dog maul any animal is akin to dog fighting in my opinon
Hunting for food is ok.
Dont shoot unless it will kill instantly. (Especially with archery there's more room for error)
Predator hunting dosent work well depending on species. Apex predators usually control their own populations. Kill one fox and more will move in and breed making five more little problems. Lock up chickens in secure pens, get alert dogs or alarm sensors. If possible lock up lambs and calves in a barn. If larger animals are attacking you are better off making a good high fence. It'll cost less than losing your stock for years and shooting animals will in the long run.
Men have it as bad as women just in diffrent ways. Espeically when it comes to custody of children and mental health support. Men get raped at the same rate as women if not higher and it rarely gets reported due to stigma around it.
Media lies about alot of things or take things out of context or just blow things up. Take articles with a grain of salt and dont use them for a political argument or whatever unless you know for a fact they are acurate.
Taxidermy is respectful to animals as you are trying to make them as close as you can to being alive.
Breeding animals is ok so long as the sole reason isnt for profit and that you try to find good owners and give them the best of care.
Adoption is great but its not for everyone. People dont know what they are getting with adopted dogs and they may be dangerous or not suitable to their household or simply the animal they want just isnt in shelters. My own dog is adopted and i love him to death. He is the best boy.
Prong collars can be humane just so long as they are used correctly same with shock collars as long as they arent powerful.
Choke collars are inhumane and most of the time dont stop a dog pulling. You are just going to do pernament damage to their brain, lungs and neck.
Drug users need to not be fined or imprisoned when they try to get help. Many are scared of this and never get help. Its not helping the drug epidemic by locking everyone up. Get them help.
Prison is to help rehabilitate people back into society. Not to punish them. Or atleast thats how i think it is.
Telling people to kill themselves or saying you want to kill them over harm they have done to other beings is bad. Its the same as what they do. Dont stoop so low.
Also hugs always help people :3
Just my personal opinons. You can have diffrent ones to me i dont really care tbh. People can get along with diffrent opinons. Mine change yearly basically lol. Basically just be nice to everybody is my motto. You dont know what is going on in their life.
