âStop putting limits on your life. You are worth everything.â
â Unknown
I realized that I donât have to be perfect. All I have to do is show up, do my best, and enjoy the messy, imperfect, beautiful journey Iâm on đŻ
â50 reasons your 20âs actually suck (#sorrynotsorry) 1. Everyone tells you itâs the best time of your life. With that sort of expectation, it can only go downhill from there. 2. Existential crises appear in ways and places you never knew were possible. 3. You donât have a degree (at first). 4. You canât do shit without a degree. 5. You discover worlds of possibility and are showered with exciting people and opportunities, but guess what â money. And you probably need a degree. 6. Your only source of the precious aforementioned money is still your parents. 7. You start to feel indebted to your parents. 8. Good luck with the decade-long process of fully leaving the familial nest without anyone getting hurt, affected or offended (including you). 9. Breakups, lost friendships. 10. You get told the world is your oyster but youâve never even tried oysters because theyâre expensive and youâre broke. 11. Everyone is thinking about starting a startup. 12. Friends start getting married. 13. You hate that damn degree. 14. Friends start having babies. 15. You hate your student jobs (yes, plural). 16. You canât keep up with your maths lecture anymore because youâre working too much. 17. You canât afford a maths tutor because youâre not working enough. 18. Existential break-downs. You donât want to die one day. 19. You have an inexplicable urge to travel the far corners of the Earth on your own with expensive clothes and a shiny Instagram-capable smartphone because nothing bad has ever happened to you anyway and experiences are totally worth more than, I donât know, a sensible long-term investment? Ahh, but you NEED. To SEE. VIETNAM!! AUSTRALIA! Nigeria! The South American Cartels!!! 20. Why is Trump constantly in the news. 21. Family and friends start casually introducing you to marital prospects whom youâre 0% attracted to. 22. Uni would be so great if it didnât involve studying⌠23. Friendsâ startups start to fail. 24. Dating just got real. 25. Nights are spent with coffee, mornings napping on lecture hall fold-out tables and weekends with a hangover â you discover the sublime beauty of peaceful mid-week lunchtimes with an introvert friend. 26. Can you afford to get a cat? 27. Still canât decide if you want children. 28. Omg youâre having so much sex. Is this dangerous? Are you chemically imbalanced? Are you a bad person? Fuck. Itâs even changed your vocabulary and brain. Youâre a slut. Wait, is that a bad thing? What are good and evil? Is there a God? 29. Youâre addicted to technology. Itâs getting clinical. 30. What is gender. Let me tumblr that. 31. You finally get a degree and realise you need a Masters. 32. Failed an entry-level job interview because you donât have work experience. Because logic. 33. Youâre still waiting for your letter from Hogwarts. 34. Cycling to the new uni/job is still not toning your legs and butt, it just gets you there sweaty and pissed off. 35. You graduate (again) but the world just changed (again, thanks Moore) and the job youâve spent 5 years preparing for has been replaced by A.I. Or even worse â a mere App. 36. You discover bootcamps, evening schools, online academies and the joys of working just for the money and the salvation of your over-qualified assâs dignity. 37. Oh⌠wait for it⌠life crisis. Also, at least one of your remaining grandparents has probably died. 38. You start a vlog and now even strangers on the Internet get to judge your face and feelings. 39. Your parents want to know when youâre going to get married. 40. Friends continue to pop out babies. 41. Youâre STILL being told that the world is your oyster and itâs STILL not legal to punch them in the face. Neither is weed. 42. What is life? 43. You spend a night researching, say, medical schools in obscure countries of the EU, even if you studied, say, arts in the UK and #languages #brexit. 44. More breakups, still canât find âthe one.â (ProTip: There is no The One. You get to choose your Neo/Trinity. Youâre welcome.) 45. Trump is still in the news. 46. Maybe you need a PhD⌠Maybe thatâs what it is. 47. Your letter from Hogwarts arrives!!! Just kidding, you just dozed off at your last remaining student job. 48. Oh shit, youâre fired. 49. You gather all your inner strength and after many yoga classes, one-night-stands, expensive certifications, unnecessary travels, drunken talks with friends, overthought resumĂŠs and Eminem karaoke sessions you meet a cutie who becomes a spouse and a contact that becomes a full-time job. You can start blinking again now, get yourself a spacious and âmodernâ (euphemism) suburb house and win at life. 50. Oh wow, youâre 30. Whew⌠just in time.â

20 important study skills/tips iâve learned from my professors
1. start studying a week before every quiz/test. seriously.
2. watch youtube videos/ted talks on the topics you are learning about.
3. get lots of sleep! sleep helps you process the dayâs events, including what you learned.
4. write out your notes. itâs proven that handwritten notes help you learn better than typed out notes.
5. donât just read what your professor gives you. find academic journals, books, etc. that correspond with your subjects.
6. read the news! especially in the social sciences/humanities, connecting concepts with current events helps you understand and process more easily.
7. exercise! this doesnât have to be going on runs or lifting weights, it could even just be going for a 20 minute walk. just get your blood pumping, itâll help you focus.
8. study at your desk. it may be tempting to study in bed, but your brain connects your bed with sleep, so youâll get tired more quickly.
9. reviewing notes doesnât have to be something you sit down and do for an hour. skim through them and test your memory while eating breakfast!
10. expand your study time throughout the day to avoid burnout. for example, rather than studying for 5 hours straight, study for an hour here and there in between your activities.
11. make your notes organized and easy to read, but not distracting. bright colors and flashy notes may seem better, but can sometimes distract from the purpose of the notes.
12. use apps such as quizlet. this way, you can go through definitions while waiting in lines or walking to class.
13. itâs more important to know concepts rather than facts. for example, you should be able to take what you know and apply it to different situations, not just the situation the textbook gives you.
14. just because the professor doesnât require you to read textbook, doesnât mean you shouldnât. it helps explain concepts in a different way than your professor, and a lot of times hearing two different explanations for the same concept helps you understand it.
15. read in advance. read the textbook before your professor begins going over the chapter, so when he/she does, you can easily follow what they are saying.
16. do any extra credit work that comes your way. even if you donât need the extra boost now, you might later.
17. go to class!! if you always skip class and show up at office hours completely lost on the concepts, theyâll laugh in your face. theyâll take you 100x more seriously if you show up.
18. however, if you are sick, take a day off. itâs more beneficial to you in the long run.Â
19. learn how to say ânoâ. if you have an 8 am the next day, donât stay out until midnight with your friends.Â
20. donât stress too hard over quizzes. if you expect them to go horribly, they will. you got this.

self discipline tips
here are tips I discovered very recently:
something is better than nothing. 5 minutes of work are better than zero. Just because you missed something on your schedule doesnât mean you canât still work on it, even for 5 minutes. Grow and build on this.
second drafts / reviews can be done after.
Donât think you are going to do your very best work on the first try. Take the weight of perfectionism off your shoulders.
donât think about doing it. just do it as fast as you can.
build on your productivity, not your failures.
If you come from a past of procrastinating and now feel motivated to change and discipline yourself, do NOT try to do everything at once.
if you have a set of different goals to accomplish, begin with the most important one. Wait until the rotine of working for that one settles in (you feel productive and comfortable-ish), and then begin with the next. Repeat.
this way youâll be building your way up and not juggling everything at the same time, hoping everything works out.
be patient with yourself, youâll get there!
set smaller deadlines for your goals
have monthly and weekly-ish deadlines
e.g. if you are doing a project, due 22nd Feb, set personal deadlines, like have Introduction written by 2nd Feb, have Methods written by 10th Feb, have project complete by 18th Feb.
take them as seriously as you possibly can, donât miss out on yourself.
write realistic daily tasks and donât stop until you finish them. after them you can do whatever you want
on writing realistic daily tasks, the secret is knowing you can only do so much in one day, but trusting you can accomplish everything in the course of any period of time (a week, or 2 weeks or a month, etc.) because you will combine the work from all these different days.
itâs very tempting to write down all the tasks you need to accomplish in one day to just get over with it, but the real deal is you wonât accomplish half of them. Youâll feel very unproductive then, wich leads to demotivation.
spread daily tasks in the time necessary.
have a consistent sleep schedule.
if your mind isnât ready everything will fall apart.
have one rest day per week where you plan nothing, do whatever you want except studying. this can be harder than you expect!
(donât forget these are effective only if you actually put them into practice! good luck babes!!)
how the fuck is it december this weekÂ

How to Cope with Depression
Depression can often be difficult to fight as it usually drains you of your energy. And though you canât overcome it by willpower alone, you still have some control, no matter how you feel. The suggestions below can help you with this.
1. Keep doing the activities you previously enjoyed (even if you donât enjoy them as much when youâre depressed).
2. Try and build some exercise into your day as it releases endorphins â the bodyâs âfeel goodâ hormones.
3. Know what your triggers and your risk factors are. For example, loneliness, stress, disappointment and pain are common triggers and risk factors for depression.
4. Stay in touch with your friends. Often those who are depressed start to isolate themselves â but that leads to loneliness - which makes depression worse.
5. Try and maintain some kind of routine, especially when it comes to getting up and going to bed. Taking naps in the daytime can cause insomnia and leave you feeling drained, so you have no energy.
6. Try to get a handle on how much you tend to worry. Take note of your thought patterns; donât dwell on negatives. Instead, challenge faulty thinking so itâs much less pessimistic ⌠and try to be thankful ⌠and look for positives.
7. Make sure you do things that make you feel more relaxed. Often people whoâre depressed feel uptight and agitated. So itâs important that you find things that help you to relax.
8. Resist the temptation to self-medicate (especially through alcohol or substance abuse.) That will lead to greater problems - and make you feel much worse.
9. Seek out support. Talk to a good friend, or someone that you trust. Youâll usually find thereâs someone who genuinely cares.
10. Talk to your doctor. It may be medication is the answer for you so donât be afraid to try and get professional help.
And I hate my mind for playing these tricks on me
And I hate my mind for playing these tricks on me
Itâs all about falling in love with yourself and sharing that love with someone who appreciates you rather than looking for love to compensate for a self love deficit.
The real glow up is when you stop waiting to turn into some perfect version of yourself and consciously enjoy being who you are in the presentđź
