I turned the music off in Hades 2 so I could listen to my own and Scylla gave me the whole speel about not being able to hear herself think or speak. I was listening to different beast when she killed me. I think it may have been deserved.

Grace calling Leon when Emily doesn’t feel very good one day because she’s an anxious momma and Leon makes her feel safe, especially since Leon has already proven that he will do anything to keep Emily with Grace instead of letting her get hurt again. So she calls him one day mentioning that Emily is feverish and feels icky, so Leon shows up with supplies and a go-bag so he can stay with them (half claimed it’s so he doesn’t go back home and get Chris or Rose sick as well, but he’s just anxious too) and after a day, he puts together that he doesn’t think Emily has a virus, but he thinks he knows what’s up, packs the kids into his mom-van (he finally gave Claire the Porsche because he knows Chris doesn’t want him in something that fast anyways, and this way he can babysit Emily while he has Rose) and brings them to the ER, and THEN give Grace her Xanax, tell the front desk worker that he thinks Emily’s appendix is gonna burst, and rub Emily’s back while they wait for her Xanax to kick in and get Emily seen to.

Anyways, the doctors know that Leon is pretty much Peepaw and so he’s there to keep Grace chill and coddle Emily, but they’re a little confused at Emily’s questions about her appendix.

‘It has to come out cause it’s infected?’ ‘Yeah, Em.’ ‘Is it gonna infect all of me if it doesn’t come out?’ ‘…it’s… it’s an ouchie, and if it doesn’t come out, it could break open, and all of you would be ouchie. But it’s not a BOW infection.’ ‘Oh, right. Because we all got the cure for BOW infections?’ ‘Yup.’

Leon kinda wants to tell the doctors to plz stop freaking out, the child just admitted they all have Elpis vaccines, they aren’t at risk of turning from t-virus- why you running, WHY ARE YOU RUNNING??? Calm down. Dramatic ass doctors.

Anyways. Hunnigan shows up 1 hour later looking pissed behind a sheepish Chris and giggly Rose, hands the doctors the NDAs, and wishes Emily good luck with her ouchie. Chris and Rose keep them company while the antibiotics go to work and the doctors reassess when she can get it out (because these days it’s better to work with antibiotics if you get in fast enough and then remove it when inflammation is already down, but you still have to remove it.)

Anyways. Leon is teaching Emily field medicine because that’s the best way to start off her new journey to know everything about the human body, and Grace is taking a nap because she’s been anxious for days and Leon is keeping watch.

You know those videos of people who make like 50-200 meals to give to the homeless or people in need? I feel like that’s a Leon vibe.

But also he’s not the best cook ever at first, he’s passable for himself, but nothing fancy. You don’t need fancy, but he feels like he’s lacking a bit, so he mentions that to Claire one day, and she mentions that he should ask Chris for help, and that it could be relaxing for them all to do it, especially since feeding those in need gets right at her heart, Chris is a good cook cause he had to learn to feed a starving Claire pretty young so he knows all the hearty meals, and Leon is willing to throw his large kitchen and supplies and effort at all of this.

I just feel like that would turn into family night for them. Sherry would come over, eventually bringing Jake and Piers with her, maybe Manuela too, Ashley when she’s not busy, and eventually, Grace and Emily would come by. Jake is a mess who’s somehow always setting stuff on fire so he’s on ‘entertaining Rosie’ duty, which is a big task when it comes to the four year old, but Emily wants to cook too. She never knew anything about where food came from before Grace got her, and the process is fascinating, and she gets to help feed others who don’t have the ability themselves.

Leon is constantly taking pics of Grace because she’s over there teaching Emily knife safety and how to cut things, or how to help make dough, stuff like that, Chris teases him saying he’s ‘getting sappy in his old age’ but pretending he’s not crying a bit too. Adorable. He doesn’t protest when Leon sends him cute pics of Grace and Emily.

I just feel like they need to do something good with their government blood money for the people and also their own mental health. Weekends are for the community, Wednesdays are for skipping out on work early and sitting in a cat/dog shelter for 6 hours to clean and socialize and organize adoptions.

Claire def would run a self defense course, mostly for kids, but quite a few young women go too, and Chris gets annoyed with the guys scoffing at her ‘girls class’ in the neighborhood, so he shows up to show them ‘a move I taught her when she was a teen so no assholes like you guys could take her down’ and while she couldn’t kick his ass, simply because of their background, she can throw his ass down and keep him there if he doesn’t fight it too much.

Leon’s favorite neighbor is a lesbian housewife who helps organize shit for him while he’s at work (like their weekends and food shipments and recipes and stuff that he might not have time for while at work) so he can head home and get right to things on the weekends. She knows all the gossip and has an overgrown herb garden that gets used often.

Let them all do community service and build a gay ass neighborhood with their adorable blonde daughters and loud asshole sons and also let Leon sit in a pile of loud kittens that he decides to foster.

I love unconventional relationships in Resident Evil, canon or otherwise.

Like, I love Chris and Leon being Rose's primary caregivers but Mia is still her Mum and usually has her on the weekend; or Mia being primary but Chris and Leon are absolutely her dads on the side.

I love Leon and Chris getting married early on for tax benefits and so they had a next of kin (And because Chris wanted to make sure Claire is completely taken care of) and they eventually end up together after two kids and a house.

I love Carlos and Jill being together and Claire being their third until she finds a partner of her own or maybe she never does and she just likes being with them sometimes.

I love Sherry, Claire and Leon as a family, then Ashley become Leon's kid, then Grace being Chris and Leon's like the worlds weirdest mixed family where not a single separation or divorce has occurred. I love Sherry's Aunty Helena and Ingrid.

I love Jill and Chris being friends (probably because media is saturated with opposite sex partner's ending up together) through everything and no matter how many people assume they are together or are crushing on each other, they just smile knowingly, move on and it doesn't put strain on them.

I love Jill being Claire's first adult crush.

I love Chris and Claire's childhood home becoming the place where everyone goes to regroup after stopping the apocalypse. It's everyone's safe house.

I love Leon having an existential crisis over his adopted daughter being the same age as his adopted granddaughter.

I love the adopted kids having an over 30 year age range.

I love Rebecca and Claire bonding over their experiences with Chris, being his younger sister figures and eventually having their own experiences as sisters.

I love Leon and Ada having flings on and off for years and then eventually settling down away from each other because they know the other one wouldn't be happy compromising on a life together.

I love Carlos and Jill going unlabeled for years because Jill just wanted someone to be close to without having to answer questions and Carlos being happy to be like that until she feels comfortable.

I love Chris and Jill maybe having feelings for each other but after everything that happened at spencer Mansion and their different investigations afterwards, something between them split and they found love elsewhere.

I love relationships that don't start in a "normal" way. I love families built on shared experiences AND blood relations. I love kids who have parental figures but are never expected to forget there lost loved ones. I love people leaning on each other regardless of their relationship, not needing to be anything special to understand.
