Current fixation(s): Evoland 2, God of War, Ace Attorney?

Please do not send me Cookie Run fankid requests anymore, I don’t do that on the regular anymore. At this point, I only do it on occasion when I feel the urge to, and most of those are just random ships I choose

If you send me a request, there is a 99% chance that I will not end up drawing it, and it will just be sitting in my inbox forever; most of my requests have been sitting here over a year, and you will ultimately be disappointed

I’m just not into Cookie Run as my main hyperfixation anymore, and sure, sometimes I miss making fankids and say I’d like to make a couple more, but those are usually just whims and never stay for long. The only way that I would hypothetically make fankids as regularly as I used to would be for Cookie Run to be my main fixation again, and I don’t see that happening anytime soon

I just don’t want people to get their hopes up and think I’ll make something when I likely won’t, and if I’m being perfectly honest, I don’t particularly enjoy getting asks in my inbox only to see that it’s to do a thing I haven’t done regularly in probably over a year now. So please just don’t send them

Oh and also, even if you see a new fankid I post, don’t automatically assume this means that I will start posting them regularly again and requests are open once more. This is most likely another whim and you will get your hopes up for nothing. Only do so if it’s clear that I am making them regularly again, like if I post multiple new ones over the span of at least a few weeks

I’ve gotten 4 since Sunday now, and while I’m not particularly sure why, other than the 1 or 2 I made last week, I think I need to set the record straight about this for people in the future

So I had an idea that for the Goddess of Time design concept, I could give her an outfit somewhat inspired by Mycenaean/Minoan Greek clothing, to differentiate her from the Golden Goddesses who were more Classical Greek inspired (though only vaguely since I wasn’t really worried about accuracy at the time), as GoT’s from Termina instead of Hyrule

Though at the same time, I’m not really sure about the idea. For one thing, Mycenaean clothing seems to be very colorful, while my Goddess designs tend to be monochrome + white, as well as the overall gold. So that aspect of the inspiration would either have to be scrapped, or this Goddess will have to break the rules

But secondly and more importantly, I really don’t think Mycenaean Greece has any place in Termina. The Golden Goddesses in Hyrule being vaguely Greek barely fits (other than Ancient Greece being associated with gods and old stuff) but in Termina it feels even less so

I think I just want to draw something with this style of clothing now that I’ve seen it, and my brain decided the Goddess of Time was where to do that. But with more thought, I’m really skeptical on how effective that would actually be in this scenario

I wonder, what would happen in an Atreus spin-off game where he went to Greece?

I mean it's fair to assume that if he went there, he'd learn more about the Ghost of Sparta and have to deal with Kratos' past, but how much is he really going to have to grapple with that? It's been centuries since God of War 3, enough time for Greece to start rebuilding, and almost all the gods who knew him were killed (and we know they're not in the Underworld to meet either). Aphrodite, Artemis and presumably Apollo are still around, but between two people who weren't there for the Second Titanomachy and one who really didn't care, how much can they really say about the horrors of what the Ghost of Sparta did?

I feel like the horror would be a bit watered down if Atreus is hearing this from either humans who only know Kratos through stories passed down over centuries, or gods who knew of him but weren't directly affected by him. Like yeah, Kratos did some bad stuff, but it's not like there's anyone here for Atreus to meet that is still actively suffering because of Kratos' actions, so I'm not sure it'd hit as well as one would want

Honestly, Calliope seems like the only option that'd make this plot point effective, given that she's still in Elysium which Atreus could theoretically travel to, and while she didn't witness the Ghost of Sparta's rampage, she's still been negatively affected by his actions. Plus I don't think Atreus knows about her and Lysandra yet, and I doubt Kratos is gonna tell him without a push for it. But then there's the question of how she's able to play a part in the story at all if she's a spirit in Elysium

Athena's also a fair bet for a reappearance, but given her likely connections to the Everywhen, it feels less likely since she's not only tied to Greece anymore. Or at least, that she'd be here specifically because we're in Greece again

But disregarding the logistics of Atreus learning about his father's past, how much would that really affect the story of this hypothetical game? Because yes, this would definitely be interesting, I doubt it's enough for a whole game's plot; a sub-plot feels more fitting

Even if Atreus doesn't know his father's past, we the audience do, so it wouldn't really bring much new to the table other than his perspective. If he's getting a whole game, it'd probably have to bring something new of substance. And like I said, there's not really enough old characters left in Greece to bring the Ghost of Sparta's influence front and center in the narrative

(Now you could argue a bunch of the other spin-offs don't give a lot of new info either, but CoO, GoS, Ascension, and SoS are all prequel games that can't add too many new things to the plot. Meanwhile, Laufey isn't a direct prequel and it's giving us some substantial info, like showing us the afterlife of the gods. An Atreus spin-off would be of a similar vein, being set after Ragnarok, so I imagine it would do the same)

I mean he'd probably be going there in search of the Giants, especially since we didn't see the Greek Gigantes in the original saga, but I can't really say if that's substantial enough to be the main plot; it'd have to depend on what's done with the Gigantes and how much they're tied to the Jotnar

I can't really say any more on the subject than that, I just wanted to bring it up

Here I give you a page of Leikný stuff

I actually started this page back in June, I think the day before the Laufey announcement, but then afterwards I never came back to continue. But today my PS4 won’t let me play God of War 2018, so I decided to finish it up so I can actually show it off

Though literally the only thing I did today was line and color the Leikný and Angrboda sketch, everything else was in June so I don’t remember it much

First up we have my attempt at an adult design for Leikný, since she’s not going to be a child forever. I remember her colors causing me issue at the time, I had to tweak some stuff so it’d actually look decent, including changing her hair to Angrboda’s color (I don’t know how to explain the change in hair color in-universe though), but I think by now it looks good enough

I think I also remember that her adult hairstyle is inspired by Lamiroir/Thalassa Gramarye, who admittedly is white but hopefully I was able to make her hairstyle work with Leikný’s dreads

The bottom two pictures meanwhile were just me drawing young Leikný with her parents, and attempting some future Atreus and Angrboda designs. I don’t know how good they are, and for the most part I used other fan designs for their older selves as inspiration, but hopefully they’re good enough

Though I have to admit, I very much half-assed the Angrboda one. I remember it was causing me trouble when I first drew this, I think I decided to take a break from the page at the time, and coming back I just decided to make do with what I had and slapped stuff together so I could finally declare the page finished. They might need a redemption where I draw the two better, but that’d also mean trying to attempt another future Angrboda design when I’m still not sure what that’d look like, so hmm

But other than that, I think one of the big reasons I first decided to draw this page was to demonstrate a slight change in Leikný’s lore/design. Originally she was born with her vitiligo spread over half her body, but now I’ve decided that she was born with only her left hand white, but as she grew older it spread to more of her body, and it was only by the time she reached adulthood that her vitiligo was a perfect split

I think I just decided this because I didn’t like her split look originally (as in the two skin tones clashed) and I learned vitiligo does that with age, but whatevs, it’s part of the lore now

The only other possible addition to her lore is that since the Laufey reveal, I’ve been considering the idea that Leikný/Hel in general could have ties to the Everywhen, since basically everyone important to the Norse games is a god and so her only having dominion/ties to the normal dead seems a bit boring if nobody’s there (except probably Baldur). But I’ve also had to tell myself to rein that idea back in since we don’t know anything about the Everywhen and the plot of this game yet, so I suppose it’s nothing more than a concept

And I think that’s about it for the Leikný stuff, don’t know when I’ll get back to her. Maybe if/when I get to Ragnarok I’ll have more ideas, but who knows when that’ll be at this point

Completely random, but I currently have this absolutely crackpot theory that Phranque is actually Ouranos who somehow got cubed. It was just a joke initially, but it just stuck in my brain so now I feel the need to tell you about it

It basically hinges on the fact that Phranque’s got this cosmic theme going on, and Ouranos is a Primordial of the Heavens, both sky and stars, and him having a cosmic theme seems plausible. Plus Ouranos wasn’t really present in the games, despite likely existing considering Gaia and the whole “cycle of patricide” thing

Well, other than that one Primordial guy in the Ascension prologue being presumably Ouranos, who also has a different color scheme to Phranque. But at the same time, this series isn’t immune to retcons, especially when a character had a very minor role/appearance previously, so it’s not like it’s impossible for them to have retconned Ouranos’ color scheme or role in some way if this were true

Plus, with what little screen time Phranque has, he does seem to be knowledgeable about the Everywhen and he probably has a bigger place in the world than just “cube”, and I mean that would make sense for a guy who’s probably been here since nearly the beginning of creation

But above all else, I like the idea because it’s just really funny to me. Like, this guy was/is Gaia’s husband. You got Zeus, Cronos and Gaia and meanwhile Ouranos/Phranque is just like a really nice guy. Also unlike them, he speaks like a normal person. I like to imagine Gaia getting to the Everywhen and seeing Phranque and being really confused. Why does this friendly little cube thing say he’s her husband? Also the idea of Faye traveling with her great-grandpa-in-law

I don’t genuinely believe it, it’s mostly just for comedy’s sake and I wouldn’t be surprised if Phranque turns out to be something completely different. But it’s technically not impossible either, which just makes it funnier

So yesterday I decided to start making the Din version of my Goddess/Oracle drawings I first did with Nayru

For context for those who didn’t see the last one, basically I’m just drawing my designs of the Golden Goddesses doing things similar to the Oracles who share their names. Nayru played the Harp of Ages, and Din gets to dance

I intended to finish this yesterday, but after I finished the shading all my electronics needed time to charge and I decided to pass the time by starting God of War 2018 (Oracle of Ages was infuriating me with that mine-cart game), and then I ended up getting too hooked in that to continue. But then I got booted out this morning bc someone else was using the account, so I decided to go and finish this up while I wait

Like last time, I had a pose reference, this time from @albanenechi, though it’s not as easily translatable as the last one since this isn’t a dancing pose

I didn’t even try out the original Din color palette, I just went with the N64 one, and honestly I think that’s gonna stay the default one. Though unfortunately, that comes with certain issues since the goddess Din is usually depicted with red and orange instead of N64 OoT’s red and pink

This came up as an issue with the background colors, since previously I used Nayru’s colors for the background, but Din’s colors didn’t look as good here, and her red hair color looked way too saturated as well. I had to edit the colors to look better

But as for my overall opinion on this, I think objectively it’s pretty good, but I can’t help but compare it to my Nayru piece, which I think was better. But ignoring that, I can probably give myself the credit that it’s good on its own

It also lets me give Din an actual smile, since I always draw her with a serious expression. She’s supposed to be the eldest sister, the most serious and responsible, but she should be allowed to have happiness as well. Oracle Din, if she met Goddess Din, would probably try to help her unwind and enjoy herself, and they’d probably get along pretty well after a while, Oracle Din’s a respectable person in Goddess Din’s eyes

And now we’ve gotten through both of the Oracles from their games. The only one left is Farore, but her case is tricky. Yes she has her own Oracle, but Oracle Farore didn’t have her own game (because it got scrapped), and from what I understand she only exists in the Library of Secrets in the final games. So I’m not really sure if there’s much for me to draw my Farore doing, other than reading a book I guess?

I don’t have to draw her, but I feel like I’d be leaving her out if I didn’t. I guess we’ll just see what I do in the future. But it might be a while because GoW 2018 is currently worming its way into my brain

So I decided to start Oracle of Seasons earlier, just to get a taste of it and see Din, and wow yeah it really is a different game from Ages. I know I’ve already said that, but that was just going off of what the Internet told me, now I’ve experienced it for myself

Really the only similarities seem to be the overall premise of the Oracle kidnapping and most of the items being the same between both games (though not acquired in the same order); other than that, the world, characters (save for a couple), and dungeons are completely different

And lowkey I think I might be enjoying Seasons more than Ages? It might just be the novelty of it being so different from the other one, as well as me getting more confused by Ages’ later puzzles because I’m a bit stupid, but I’m liking it more so far. Though if that’s the case, I should probably head back to Ages now before I decide that Seasons is the only one I want to play and I’m disinterested in my mid-game Ages save file once I finish Seasons

But yeah, both games are enjoyable, and frankly my desire for some form of Oracle remake is even stronger

I need the original Golden Goddesses to make a return in the Zelda games

I know they’ve been referenced in previous games like with the dragons in BOTW/TOTK, but I want them to be actually important in a game

Note: okay so I went looking through the Wiki, and apparently this trio is actually referenced more than Hylia, who I had assumed taken their spotlight. Hylia’s actually only important in Skyward Sword and while she’s commonly worshipped in the Wild games, she’s not actually that plot important. So maybe I’m a little hasty in saying all this

But still, even in the games where the Goddesses are mentioned, they seem to mainly be references and my greedy ass wants more

Am I rather biased in this opinion due to my main Zelda game being Ocarina of Time and never having played Wind Waker and Twilight Princess where they’re also relevant? Yes. But I still want more of them

I would also accept the Oracles returning in some way and being important to the plot, or just more goddess lore and/or goddesses in general

So I’ve been learning about how the Zelda Oracle games work, and how the Linked Game mechanic works, and I’ve basically come to the conclusion that it’s just Fire Emblem Fates but done well

So the Oracle games aren’t the exact same game, just with either Nayru or Din swapped out for the other and similar minor changes. From what I understand (though I’m not entirely sure since so far I’ve only played Ages), while the general plot beats are similar, the games have entirely different worlds, utilize entirely different mechanics with Ages using time travel and Seasons manipulating the seasons, and have different gameplay focuses, with Ages being more puzzle based while Seasons is more combat focused

And as for the Linked Game mechanic, I had originally thought that it was dependent on Link Cables, meaning that it’s entirely inaccessible without a GameBoy Color. But in reality, what it is is that once you beat one version of the game, you get a secret password to be used in the other game, and once you enter that code into the other game, you unlock a new game file that then acts as a sequel story incorporating elements of the other game and providing a new “true ending”, instead of the games remaining as two alternate versions of the story

To bring back the FE Fates element, Birthright and Conquest seem to function like Ages and Seasons do, except that Fates all takes place in the same world and the difference depends on which side you pick at the beginning of the game, rather than completely alternate worlds

However it’s Revelations vs Linked Game where I say that the Oracle games do it better, since while yeah, you need to have both of the games to unlock the true ending, Linked Game is accessible once you’ve beaten at least one version of the game, and as a result is something you can actually access as a result of your own work and isn’t something locked behind a paywall you can no longer legitimately access. So you know, you can actually play the true ending even if you didn’t play the game back when it released

Granted, if the Linked Game feature truly was locked behind Link Cables, I’d say it’s the same as what Fates did. And while yes, Link Cables are another way to access this feature as well as other mechanics, the fact that there’s an alternate way to get that new file legitimately without the Cables puts the Oracle games above Fates in this regard

Random but I quite like the designs of this race from Final Fantasy, whom I’ve now learned are Bangaa

I saw them in Revenant Wings and I just like their snouts and particularly their long ear things. I feel like the latter’s uncommon in reptilian fantasy race designs, and I think it gives them character

Oh yeah, yesterday as I was looking for more info about the Oracle games, I discovered that this is apparently how Impa canonically looks in these games

Like, OKAY I wasn’t expecting that

I mean, it’s not necessarily bad, it’s just that I’ve never seen Impa depicted looking like this. She’s usually either a skinny (well not necessarily, but like she’s of the more conventional skinnier body type) ninja or an old lady, and given her sprite I assumed she was the latter, like her older depictions

Finding out this Impa doesn’t look like either of her conventional designs definitely took me off guard. But I mean, props for breaking the mold though (even if by this point her two typical designs haven’t been quite as established as they are now)

So the other Zelda Goddess image in my head recently, due to Oracle of Ages, was to draw my Goddess Nayru playing Oracle Nayru’s Harp of Ages. I’ve been enjoying the game and I thought this would be fitting

It may not be super accurate to the original harp, but for my standards I’d say I did a pretty good job, both with the Harp and the drawing overall, I’m quite proud of it

I mean, it definitely helps that I had a reference photo to use (once again from @mellon-soup), I definitely couldn’t have made this look so good without it, but still

My other trick was using my Nayru reference picture as a reference for the shading and highlights, but once again I think it paid off

I also ended up using Nayru’s colors from my OoT N64 color picking instead of her original colors, since while I did try those original colors, they just didn’t work as well. I’m tempted to just make those the Goddesses’ default colors, but the jury’s still out on Din and Farore for now, so we’ll see

Also if you notice, I tried to do a bit more something with the background than I usually do, or at least not my usual gradient. I don’t know how effective it is, it kind of looks like a desktop wallpaper to me, but I think it’s got enough and the flat colors work with the rest of the drawing

And honestly, I don’t think I have too much else to say here. I’m not quite sure what the connection is between Oracle Nayru and Goddess Nayru (maybe I’m just not far enough in the game to know but I don’t think it’s ever made clear regardless), whether they just happen to share a name or the Oracle is some sort of human incarnation of the Goddess, but I think the two would enjoy each other’s company, playing music together

So another addition to that Evoland 3 idea has formed, specifically when it comes to Demons

I said in the tags of the original post that I had this idea where, on the innermost layers of the world, like the GameBoy layer where everything's monochrome, Demons and Humans would have been near indistinguishable, but as they went to higher layers with more color and detail, it became clearer that Demons look completely different from Humans

One idea I had as a way of representing that idea was that in the starting GameBoy layer, where our hero is from, one of the few people living there is actually a Demon (his placeholder name is Marlon), and our hero knows this as they've known Marlon for a while, but it's only at higher layers when they see other Demons do they learn just how different Demons truly look

But another idea I had is that maybe instead (though I suppose Marlon could still exist, this just conveys the concept better), the hero's first ally is a Demon, and this is built up to as the two travel to higher layers and it becomes more and more obvious that the two are not of the same species

I mean, I already wanted Demons to be in this concept and there was already going to be at least one in the party, so having it be the first party member doesn't really change much. Plus, their main color is supposed to be blue, and given that Demons can already have blue skin and/or hair, it'd be pretty easy for them to stay blue

I should probably do something more with these Evoland 3 ideas, but my mind's bouncing around several topics at the moment, plus this concept isn't super well defined yet (at least not enough to make it properly distinct from 2.5), so we'll see when I get around to it

Correction: there is theoretically another Zelda goddess I could design, that being the Goddess of Time mentioned in Majora’s Mask

I’d been under the assumption that the Goddess of Time mentioned here was just another name for Hylia, as the fourth Goddess we know about, but only did Hylia not exist yet at the time of Majora’s Mask, but from what I understand she isn’t directly associated with time. So that’s enough of an excuse to make this Goddess a completely different character

Granted, this character doesn’t have an appearance at all so I’d be going off of scratch, but assuming she’s something like the Termina counterpart of the Golden Goddesses, she can probably look similar to them, and given Termina’s association with purple, that color could probably work for her

Though despite me saying all this, I don’t know if I’ll draw her right this second. But an opportunity has presented itself for the future at least

So I’m not quite sure why (other than Oracle of Ages putting Zelda on the brain), but yesterday I got the urge to make a design for Hylia, in a similar style to the designs I made for the Golden Goddesses before

I’m not sure this design is quite as good as those previous designs, likely because I haven’t drawn in this particular style in a long time, but I’m still satisfied with it regardless

Also just a note, but this design isn’t Hylia in her prime, but rather a younger version of her, back when the Golden Goddesses were still around. That’s my excuse for why she doesn’t have her wings or a more accurate design compared to her statues (I somewhat forgot that unlike the Golden Goddesses, Hylia actually has visual depictions so I can’t just do whatever I feel like)

I think I originally planned for her to be golden like the original trio, just with more white, but somewhere along the way I decided to color her like her stone statues instead, and make it so that where she might have gold, instead it’s just yellow, though she still follows their general coloring rules. It’s a way to represent how she’s not quite a Golden Goddess like them (and she is technically of a lesser status than them), but they’re all goddesses regardless

I’d say the most difficult thing about her was her hair/veil, since I could not figure out how to make it work, but eventually I was able to settle on what you see here (even though the back of her hair is conspicuously missing, I’m just gonna ignore that). I ended up using OoT Zelda’s headdress as a bit of guidance, and I decided on having those two strands of hair out since that’s a common Zelda feature. It’s not blonde though since not all Zeldas are blonde

As for anything about Hylia here herself, I’m not too familiar with her in the games since I haven’t played many games where she’s relevant (the Golden Goddesses are far more important to me as someone who mainly played Ocarina of Time as a child), but here I like to imagine her as the Golden Trio’s main helper, their specialest little girl, probably Nayru’s favorite in particular (bc of Zelda’s connection to Wisdom). She greatly idolizes the Goddesses and works hard to prove herself a worthy goddess

The time after they leave and then when Demise shows up is probably when she has her proper coming of age story, as she dedicates herself to their wishes but no longer has them to rely on. But for now at this age, it’s just wholesomeness for the quartet

And that about wraps things up here, just wanted to show off my Hylia. Maybe I’ll make an older design of her and/or draw her with the other goddesses another time, we’ll see

So I was watching a video about Sonic Chronicles, and now I’m wondering, could Shade/Tikal be a ship?

From what I understand, Pachacamac’s clan were rivals to the Nocturnus Clan, and while the Nocturnus Clan lived on after Perfect Chaos while the Knuckles Clan was nearly wiped out, their imprisonment in the Twilight Cage was close enough to that event for Knuckles’ clan to believe Chaos had been their downfall as well. And time is weird in the Twilight Cage, making it so that the Nocturnus Clan first imprisoned there (Shade included) are still alive in the present, so assuming that their imprisonment was only a few years at most from the Perfect Chaos incident, Shade and Tikal very well could’ve been alive at the same time, and thus they had the potential to have met

I don’t think I know the characters (particularly Shade) well enough to say what exact dynamic they could’ve had, but there’s probably potential for some star-crossed lovers/doomed yuri there if you wanted to explore these two

Not to mention, both are technically still around in the present day, with Tikal being a spirit and Shade either still being in the Twilight Cage or freed if you wanted to assume Sonic Chronicles is canon, so you can have them reunite all these millennia later if you wanted to as well

This mostly just relies on the possibility that they might have been around at the same time, and to be fair you don’t have to make a ship out of their potential past encounters either, but I just thought it sounded like a neat idea

Collins is gone.

Namaygoosisagagun First Nation/Collins has burned to the ground. The entire community is nothing but ashes after being quickly consumed by wildfires. They did not have any support from emergency services, and no one offered aid. The community saved themselves by escaping into boats because no one came.

Mishkeegogamang and Cat Lake have lost power. Families are ending up in shelters with nothing. Armstrong, Lac La Croix, Whitesand, Gull Bay, Lac des Mille Lacs are currently in the fires path and all members are being evacuated.

All this loss, all this devastation, and it was entirely preventable.

After steadily underfunding wildland firefighting and purposefully excluding Indigenous wildland firefighters and Indigenous wildfire organizations from wildfire operations, firefighter training, decisionmaking, and resource exchanges, in 2025, Doug Ford slashed the forest firefighting budget.

It's hard to ignore his decision to cut funding and leave us out of adequate fire training (even though we've lived with forest fires for thousands of years—far longer than settlers have been in Canada—and made sure fires like the ones we're all seeing today were prevented through kinisitotēn) when, despite making up less than 5% of the population, we account for 42% percent of all wildfire evacuations in Canada.

And when we are successfully evacuated, we face discrimination and racism—like Kashechewan—because it's always been easier to blame us than it is to blame the true culprit: denialism, corportate greed, and colonization.

The people of Collins and every other impacted community deserve better.
