The story continues. Just a reminder, it's been a week of me trying this dating thing.
Honestly I went into this not expecting anything, but I was NOT expecting this level of fun.
There's currently three men I've met, they have all been super kind and respectful. Opening doors, kindly refusing that I pay, complimenting me and asking for consent before doing any type of move. Yeah this is all new to me. In order of who I met first, here are the current frontrunners. (This is my world cup okay, I'm having fun) with unexplained nicknames to make it easier.
- Aladdin: I should be going on a third date with today, just waiting on confirmation on the weather so we can decide what we do. He's fun, he's very touchy (which I like) and he challenges me a little bit. He already called me out for always saying "we can do that" instead of "i want to do that", especially for mundane things (he asked if I wanted to listen to music and I said "we can" instead of yeah even though I really wanted to).
- Conch: I drove two hours for is driving three hours to come see me this weekend. He's particularly respectful, he's the one I asked if I could kiss him because he didn't want to overstep. He also cooks (!!), and is bringing me food I love (!!!!) this weekend. And he asks every morning if I've eaten breakfast because I usually skip it and he calls me sunshine.
- Frenchy: the one I met yesterday was an unexpected surprise. We were supposed to meet sunday but he had to cancel. We rescheduled and went to a movie instead, which is not my preferred first date but whatever. HOWEVER. His voice had me melting. I didn't think he'd have a deep voice, but he does and it took me by surprise in a very good way. AND he was definitely the best kiss, by far.
Hope you enjoy the ramblings, can't wait to keep you updated. Muah š
I actually did see Aladdin yesterday and I'm so happy I did. I had to get him though, cause he didn't have a car, and he was a little shy about asking me even though I bluntly said "I wanna see you, if you wanna see me, I'll be happy to make it happen".
Result: he came over, we hung out and he slept over. He played with my cat, talked to him and made jokes with him on the balcony when he thought I couldn't hear, which was unfortunately adorable. It was overall very cute and I had a great time.
I'm not seeing Conch again, there's just one too many things we are incompatible on, and I don't want to start thinking about things we'll have to talk about in the future from just one week of talking. To his credit, he took it graciously.
I AM seeing Frenchy again, and he is quickly becoming my favourite. I joked that I knew what we should talk about tomorrow, which is when I am seeing him again. One of those topics is the question "Is a hot dog a sandwhich" and he replied "i appreciate knowing this in advance, I can do some research." Anyway that just made him so much hotter in my eyes.
I had a date with a new guy last night, we watched the sunset and cuddled under the stars. It was a great evening, even though we're not a fit in the long term as we're looking for different things, it was really nice to meet him and I do see myself becoming friends with him.
Buuuuut I saw Frenchy again, and I'm so glad I did. We spent the afternoon playing mini-golf and talking - he won but he paid for ice cream so it's a win-win in my book. Then we had a good kiss, and he followed me home (which was 40 minutes away). He spent the evening with me, we talked and we have a lot in common, and most importantly, he makes me feel so safe and desired. Yeah, these are the early stages, but he's not shy with compliments, he's thoughtful, and he's curious. We have a restaurant date later this week, which we planned initially because I wasn't free this weekend.
Edgar the cat also really likes him, he kept going over for pets and cuddles. Fingers crossed, really starting to like this one.
In other news, I learned that I am a great kisser (4/4 have said so š). I don't know how though, the last people I kissed was literally years ago. I feel like that information will DEFINITELY get to my head eventually.
I saw Frenchy again yesterday. We went for dinner, and then we had a walk in the park at sunset. Did I plan for us to finish dinner right when sunset was happening so we could enjoy it? Yes. Did I tell him that? No, he guessed. Were there two ducks crossing the water together at the same time? Yes.
Honestly, I'm a sucker for moments like that. And I'm so glad I did, because it was great. We talked about movies, which is a passion we both have, and even though he couldn't sit through LOTR (I was a little disappointed at that, but really not a dealbreaker), we do have similar taste.
And he really likes Edgar the cat. He's asking about him, and asking for his preferences before petting him, which is honestly very hot of him.
I also saw Aladdin again this week, but honestly, I don't see why we'd go out again. He's a great time, but I'm not looking for a casual relationship like he's offering. I guess we'll see how it goes.
I've been slacking on updates, so here's one for you
The bad news: I won't be seeing Frenchy again. He's lovely, he's kind, we can talk about everything, but there is one major lifestyle change that he is trying to implement right now and I don't see myself fitting in that. So, on good terms, I asked him to focus on that first and we can see after. I'm a little disappointed, I really liked him, but I know it wouldn't be a good idea right now and both of our therapists agree.
The good news:
Aladdin reached out again, he wants to see me soon, so I'm waiting on that confirmation.
I saw the new guy again, who I've decided to call Bruno. He's great. He's kind, patient and so so attentive. We get along great, the conversation is easy, and the silence is not awkward. I'm looking forward to seeing him again sometime.
There's now also Carebear, who I'm meeting tonight for the first time, and Romeo who I have plans to see this weekend. We'll see how both of those go!

You can! I there's a way to download them to your kindle vs reading on your phone. I prefer it that way because if the fics are super long (like this one!) and complete, I can read it on an e ink screen and it's waaaaaay less eye strain. I always have my phone beside me tho so I can comment as I read š
Interesting! I don't have a kindle myself although I do like the idea of reading something on a screen bigger than my phone but less clunky than my laptop lol. Then I guess in your case you'd download a cover image and manually connect it to the fic?
It's a whole new world of fic reading I'd never considered XD
Friends, this is what I do! I highly recommend, and you can use a tablet or anything that you want really. And if you wanna have fun, you can even make your own cover and share it with the author š

I'd like to thank the universe for sending me the most thoughtful, adorable boys so far. They're patient, attentive, and so fun to fluster. Thank you universe and whatever karma I've accumulated to get that treatment
Sooo I went on a date last night, we talked for 4 hours and I really enjoyed our time.
He was so respectful the whole time, opening doors, staying on the roadside, letting me squeeze myself in his side when I got a little cold. Some people will say it's the basics, but this is new to me.
Sometimes he'd say something to himself in his native language (which I don't speak and he knows this). As we were approaching my car, he said something again and he asked me to guess what he said, but I had no idea what it could have been because
1. The language isn't close to the ones I know, so I genuinely had no clue
2. I just kept thinking about kissing him and it was hard thinking of anything else.
So I made him wait until we were parked and I looked him straight in the eye when I said.
"I don't think that's what you said but it's what I want to say, can I kiss you?"
From the fact that he turned in his seat to compose himself, I think that short-circuited his brain a little. But then we kissed and it was really nice.
Fuck Iām at a fencing tournament and literally a minute after I reblogged this my dad told me that he talked to the point people and Iām probably going to win a medal.
I need to follow up to say I reblogged this last night, and this morning I got some of the best news of my life, like, a life dream come true news thing.
FUCK, I though it was just another lucky meme but LISTEN. Since a week ago I was waiting a phone call to confirm me if I got a job or not in my university. I reblogged this yesterdayās night ājust for fun and because I donāt want any bagel to be mad with meā, and todayās afternoon, while I was losing my time as always, the professor I was supposed to work with called me and asked me for my personal information to start working with her.
