Went to Twitter to check on Rico this morning and saw Ari getting arrested in Amsterdam???
The rap and rnb ladies need their holiday vacation now please. It’s too much.
Yo what?!?!?!?!?!!?
And not a word since…..
OMFG! Did you. seethis!!?!?!
They’re saying she was drunk and causing a disturbance.
American R&B singer Ari Lennox was arrested at Amsterdam Schiphol airport on Monday for disturbing public order, Dutch military police said,
My immediate take, considering her very coherent tweets, is that she was just intoxicated enough for them to blame the incident on her but what actually happened is she was racially profiled as hundreds of Black professionals have complained about being at this airport by this security over the years, was searched and humiliated (do people know how that feels??? To have everyone see you pulled aside and searched for drugs?) and she got pissed and went off and was arrested.
Couldn’t agree more!
“Dutch military police, who are responsible for security at Schiphol airport, said Lennox was held because of her aggressive behaviour towards an airline official, and for being drunk in public.“
Aka an airline person was racist to her, she got pissed off, and they used that she was drinking (on a flight) to justify everything after.
^^we know it well. None of this is new.
I agree that it’s terrible to ethnically profile at an airport (I am one of those minorities), but I would tell people to take a breath and look at the larger context of what is currently happening in the Netherlands, aka the country is becoming a Narco State. They are dealing with a serious international drug cartel problem, and specifically the terrorism from the Mocro Mafia, aka the Moroccan gang. Threatening and killing journalists, law enforcement and members of government. They even filmed the deaths to sow fear, so that no one would want to investigate and prosecute them. Just like the U.S. increased racial profiling after 9-11, the Dutch too have been racially profiling for a long time, but it’s societal circumstances are what have defended the practice. Law enforcement being racist and law enforcement being on guard for international criminals - both can be true at the same time.
