Demander des excuses, c'est probablement vouloir que l'autre s'humilie devant vous.

3hours on your most important project
3 shorter tasks
3 maintenance activities
The brainchild of self-help expert and author Oliver Burkeman, its premise is simple: spend three hours on your most important tasks, then complete three shorter jobs, and finally, tackle three 'maintenance' activities, ie the little (but often time-consuming) chores that make your day-to-day life run more smoothly.
Un jour, nous serons jugés non pas par ce que nous avons eu, mais par ce que nous avons laissé dans le cœur des autres.
On rigole, on rigole. Mais la rigole, ca mène à l'égout
Which of these is more important ? More positive thinking or less negative thinking ?
Pritchett you² reveals the secret to a better mindset!
Price Pritchett asks this question and the answer is: less negative thinking.
I'll let you watch the video for the explanation but it is interesting to know next time you face negativism in your environement!
A good teacher, therefore, especially in mid-career, is not just teaching students to be students. He/she is teaching students to become their own teachers, their own fountain of knowledge. To forever make a student dependent on you, to hold a student back, is to forever infantilize the student. It only shows the insecurity of a teacher to do so. And a student who only wishes to be spoon-fed everything, even after years of training, needs to grow up, to stumble more on his own, to pick himself up and try again, as we did, and as our own sensei did years before us. ~ Wayne Muromoto Sensei, Takeuchi Ryu Jujutsu.

The photo shows a fast race between dogs and a cheetah, the goal was to see who was the fastest.
Everyone was surprised that the cheetah did not budge from its place. We asked the race coordinator what happened. After seeing this picture, he replied: Sometimes trying to prove that you are the best is an insult. We do not need to go down to the level of others, to show our strength. Think carefully and save your energy for what you deserve... The cheetah uses its speed only to hunt, not to prove to the dogs that it is the fastest and strongest.”

You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.

There is a big difference between a strategy and a plan. Roger Martin explains it very well in this video and give some examples of the difference.
His definition of strategy is as follows:
strat⸱e⸱gy noun An integrative set of choices that positions you on a playing field of your choice in a way that you win
He goes on to say the key differences between the two are as follows:
Strategy
actual customers are the customers
you don't control them
you don't control revenues
Planning
you contron costs
you are the customer
it's comfortable
If you do strategy it gives you the best chances of winning
Decision-making is a big part of what an architect does
It's often difficult to define what precisely software architecture is but Gregor Hohpe says it's definitely about decision-making
It's illustrated as follows. If you want to design a house, the two following architectures are illustrating this concept:
picture1: steep roofs are good for cold climates
picture2: flat roofs are good for warm climates
Both drawings show exactly what the decitions was:
Only use a mock (or test double) “when testing things that cross the dependency inversion boundaries of the system” (per Bob Martin).
I posted on this on my blog but the quote comes from To mock or not to mock: is that even a question?
The triple filter of socrates to know if information is worth sharing:
Is it the truth
Is the intention good
Is the information useful
