There’s a limited time Valentine’s Day event happening in Bleach Brave Souls (the mobile game), called “Social Obligation or Genuine Feeling?” This is the kind of event I love, with the Shinigami Women’s Association, humor, and ships, of course! (It is Valentine’s Day!) (Feel free to use my BBS screenshots if you’d like.)

Here’s Shunsui and Nanao together on Valentine’s Day–we know she made chocolates with the SWA, but she refuses to give any to Shunsui. Rangiku knows why–Nanao’s feelings for Shunsui are romantic, so she wants to give him love chocolate, but she can’t bring herself to do it. She doesn’t want to give him obligation chocolate, either, so she refuses to acknowledge Valentine’s Day at all to Shunsui.

This calls back to the Valentine’s Day omake in All Color But the Black, when Nanao made Shunsui a Valentine’s Day cake, but wouldn’t give it to him because she’d written “obligation” on it when she truly wanted to give him love chocolate.

This year’s reminder that Nanao’s feelings for Shunsui are romantic in nature has been brought to you by Bleach Brave Souls!

Here’s Ichigo and Rukia on Valentine’s Day. Rukia doesn’t seem to really ‘get’ Valentine’s Day--she only made one chocolate, for Byakuya, but Ichigo seems to want to receive chocolate from her. Instead she gives them some of Momo’s Aizen glasses cookies. ^_^;

What you do get in this event, and in a lot of BBS events, is the casual intimacy between Ichigo and Rukia--like her reminding him to tell his family she won’t be home tonight. That’s pretty sweet, even if it’s not a Valentine’s Day chocolate. ^_^

Here’s Ichigo and Orihime! She’s worked up the courage to give him the Valentine’s Day chocolate, and it goes pretty well. At least up until she gives the miso sauce a hard sell! XD

Here’s Rukia and Renji! She and the other SWA members tied him up and left him at the river overnight to prevent him from messing up their chocolate making plans. Then she forgot to untie him until they came across him accidentally the next day. She didn’t make him any chocolate, but offers him some poisoned chocolate from Rangiku. Happy Valentine’s Day, Renji?!
