Wait additional piece of Ur So Gay trivia. It accidentally became an integral part of me fully accepting I'm a lesbian a few years ago bc as a joke I started pretending the line "you're so gay and you don't even like boys" was being sung to a lesbian as an affirmation and accidentally started using it as an affirmation for myself as well. Like yeah. I AM so gay and I DON'T even like boys. Yay!!

Which is probably for the best considering it may have given me some hangups around the word gay if I'd known the word at the time and been listening to the song regularly

If we're talking about the Katy Perry song I also have a personal piece of trivia about it!

I'd lived until adulthood mercifully having never heard that song. Until one day I worked a stand for a local Pride Org at a town event. I did not have control over most of the things happening with that stand. A person who I could not tell if she was a queer with some hangups or an ally with Far Too Much Power in the org did. But I especially had no control over the music. Which was possibly the most surface level and corporate selection of Pride™ music I'd ever heard.

Which took it from genero corporate Pride™ to me genuinely thinking our speaker had been hijacked by someone trying to fuck with us.

I couldn't imagine it being a real song. Let alone a real song we were listening to in the Year of Our Lord 2025. A real song written and produced by Katy Perry. A real song that someone organizing a table for a Pride Organization would listen to and go, "Yeah. This is reasonable to play out loud."

The dolls in the music video for Ur So Gay appear to be (from my own personal research/speculation) customised dolls from the Integrity 2007 Royalty line. Integrity later released an official Katy Perry doll featuring an outfit from her I Kissed A Girl music video

The music video for Ur So Gay by Katie Perry includes a visual reference to Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy. This leads to many stating the song is about him but it seems more likely he was simply referenced because he was a friend of an ex boyfriend the song was more likely about
