i am incredibly tempted to completely overhaul this blog and make a fresh one. this blog is technically a side blog under my main one (that i don’t use for anything art related) and i feel limited in how i can interact with people.

obvi moving will be a pain, but it will be a nice fresh start,, especially with wanting to explore a lot more in terms of fanart/fandom rather than just the one-off’s i post.

during sketching his jaw looked a bit funky,, so I’ve spent like ten minutes trying to make it look half decent and now I can’t tell if it actually looks okay or if I’ve become blind to it bc I’ve been staring at that damned skull mask for too long

I also cannot draw tactical gear to save my life, enjoy the scribbles :)

M7R4-006-MONTE, AKA ‘Myra’

She’s still very much a work in progress, but this was her initial sketch after I had written about her.

Basic run down is that she’s a pink lemur, perhaps alien experiment?

The lore will run deep, just let me cook

The notes are beginning,, I did two pages tonight understanding the basics in Mignola’s work with shadows to create simple yet visually appealing composition. For now, I’ll be applying small features of his art style to my own style and characters. While I do want to recreate panels and fully study specific frames within his comics, I have to wait for my local library to have the two Mignola comics I’ve put on hold so I can see the physical copy (and have more variety in what I have on hand).

For those interested, I’ve borrowed Hellboy: Omnibus Volume 2, Strange Places and Mike Mignola: The Quarantine Sketchbook.

A lot of the physical sketches and notes won’t be posted (unless people want me to, ig) but I will, hopefully, create some digital sketches of my style mixed with various techniques Mignola uses in his work.
