Wow. Can't believe it's been almost three years since I last posted anything here. I find myself coming back here every once in awhile to reflect on how much my life has changed.
I created this blog at a very weird time in my life. I was in my mid-20s trying to figure it all out. Pursuing a path I thought I was *supposed* to take; instead I forged a path I WANTED. Made some friends, made some enemies, and made A LOT of mistakes. I'm thankful for all the fun times I had with my friends and family. I look back and truly do believe those were some of the greatest moments of my life.
I'm in a new era now, true adulthood if you want to call it that. I almost DON'T remember who I was a decade ago, or the person I was just describing. I've grown up a lot, I've also witnessed and supported my closest friends in their milestones. I've grown apart from those that no longer serve me anymore - cutting out toxic friendships and relationships are some of the best things I've done for myself.
I'm still close with my best friend Z, I don't think this is a friendship I will ever lose. We knew it the moment we met in college, tried to rush a sorority together, and got rejected together because they thought we smoked too much pot. Her and J got married last year. They moved out of downtown and settled into a nice suburban home in Glendale near Z's family.
M moved to NYC for a modeling contract early last year - at the expense of breaking up with D because he and his tRaDiTiOnAl values were so un-supportive. I never liked that guy. I'm so proud of M and her success. She's another example of what it means to achieve your goals. I admire her ambition, enough is never enough for her because now she's hoping to get to walk for Paris Fashion Week one of these days while she's still in her prime.
N decided to pack up his urban-photographer life and travel. The trust-fund party boy to nomad-photographer pipeline is too real for this one. I'm so jealous. I always want to travel but never have the time or energy to go. But he promised me whenever I'm available he'll coordinate with me.
Mo got a tech job offer in Silicon Valley. Not surprised because he's brilliant and I think he'll do very well.
S and I still see each other pretty often for brunch on Sundays to catch up. Ironically as someone who's attitude shifted (she was a nurse during COVID times, jeez) to a more stern & direct manner, she's kinda therapeutic to talk to.
K and her family opened a bistro in K-Town where she's head chef and her sister manages it. I go there when I feel like treating myself to a nice spa day & fancy dinner.
As for me, I'm still working in finance. I'm living by myself in a smaller 1-bedroom apartment in downtown. I was looking into buying a small house in Santa Monica earlier this year, but my offer didn't go through. I'm still looking, I'm not giving up hope yet. I'm not dating at the moment. After years of doing so it's the same song and dance every single time. I hate it, I'm over it, and I give up. I'm honestly enjoying peace and quiet all to myself these days.
