Never Forget the Reign of Terror waged against Muslims (and by extension, Sikhs profiled as being Muslim) in the nearly two decades following 9/11.
I get so angry hearing and reading about what's happening in Palestine right now. I don't even know what to do and it all feels hopeless đ
The situation around Sheikh Jarrah should make everyone angry. For those of you who might not know whatâ going on hereâs a brief breakdown:
Indigenous Palestinian residents of Sheikh Jarrah, for a very long time, have been fighting lengthy legal battles in Israeli courts against eviction orders which aim to replace these indigenous people with illegal Israeli settlers.Â
On May 7th, the illegal Israeli settlers along with courts (an apparatus of Israelâs apartheid regime) have started a campaign to illegally take over the homeâs of Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah. These families were given until today (May 10th, 2021) to âreach an agreementâ with the occupiers. This obviously prompted protests. The IDF has also brutally responded to these protests. Now the world is watching and global protests have started happening.
Some important things to note:
-Sheikh Jarrah belongs to the Palestinian families. It is part of the occupied Palestinian territory, and therefore any Israeli settler presence in it amounts to a war crime under international law.Â
-There has been a mountain of UN Security Council resolutions demanding that Israel withdraw from East Jerusalem which Israel continues to ignore.
-This is ethnic cleansing
I know you feel hopeless but hereâs what we can do:
-Support BDS (Boycott, Divestments, Sanctions) movements (Whatâs BDS?) Boycott Israeli products from their colonial settlements
-Understand whats happening in Palestine and the crimes of apartheid/persecution being committed by Israel. (Check out this great report by HRW on the situation) After getting an understanding. SPREAD AWARENESS. Especially in the US. This is key to combatting Evangelical propaganda and Israeli lobbyists. Do this through social media.
-Contact your local reps and pressure them to stop giving Israel military funding or any form of financial support. Fight against zionist lobbyists such as AIPAC or Christians United for Israel.
-Donate if you can. Hereâs a few links. If you can add more (reputable) donation links to this, I ask that you please do.Â
International Medical Corps
Palestine Childrenâs Relief Fund
Grassroots Al-Quds
I found this great twitter thread of donation links

This is a start and we can honestly make change happen. I personally believe social media outrage coupled with supporting the BDS movement is a great way for you to help even by sitting at home.Â
Most of all, itâs important to spread awareness.
Guarantee you the OP is a white dude who is collecting unemployment.
I will never forgive or forget what Donald Trump has done. And it will be a cold day in Hell before I ever vote for a Republican.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Through the Years
A groundbreaking litigator for womenâs rights before being appointed to the bench, Ruth Bader Ginsburg has worn many aspects in her eighty-five years. On the Justiceâs birthday, flip through some photographs of her as a girl in Brooklyn, as a law graduate who left Columbia as co-valedictorian (but with no job offers), as a young mother, and as an advocate whose greatest legacy may be in the cases that she argued before what was then an all-male Supreme Courtâand won. (Photographs from the collection of the Supreme Court of the United States.)

I could watch this forever!
A live action Lilo & Stich could be lit, depending on what a live action Stich and all the other creations would look like.
I love!!!!

Whereâs that tweet that said America would invade America if America wasnât America.
Lmao after I get my masters degree Iâm hoping and praying I can make at least $40k
$400k is INSANE
If you make $15 per hour, your Yearly salary would be $29,250.
Assuming 40 hours a week, that equals 2,080 hours in a year. Your annual salary of $400,000 would end up being about $192.31 per hour.
You know just for a bit of perspective.
Reblogging again because you can never have enough Nazi flag ripping on your blog.
Reblogging because we stand against hate.
Reblogging because fuck yes
Mainstream media is really important in shaping a popular opinion - this movie (the Sound of Music, for people who donât recognise it) was the first thing I knew about Nazis and the beginning of the war. Iâd never heard about them before, and I remember mum having to explain to me what the symbol meant. This movie showed likable, strong and sympathetic characters tearing up Nazi flags and resisting the Nazis. It showed Nazi-sympathizers as intimidating and unfair. It showed us that normal people (Rolfe) could fall for their propaganda and we could lose them.Â
I was seven years old when I first watched this and immediately I knew Nazis were terrible, and because of the power of the story and the warmth of the characters this feeling sunk to my core.Â
I worry a lot about kids whose first introduction to world events is a movie like âAmerican Sniperâ.Â

I am not surprised that anti-choice zealots would hypocritically obtain abortions, but I am thoroughly fucking shocked that they wouldnât even attempt to hide their anti-choice views when doing so.Â
the mental disconnect and lack of empathy is somehow both amazing and completely unsurprising
OH MY GOD?
the moderator rly just said âhey can you condemn white supremacyâ and Trump âok but antifa is-â i literallyâŠâŠ
I want it seriously noted that Trump was just asked directly to condemn white supremacy and the KKK and he didnât. He deflected.
Not only deflected, he asked them to, and I quote âstand byâ
Literally anyone whoâs read the results of any other time this experiment has been tried. Why are we still trying to prove the concept?
Hereâs the link if anyone wants it!
https://www.newscientist.com/article/2242937-universal-basic-income-seems-to-improve-employment-and-well-being/
Finlandâs two-year test of universal basic income has concluded that it doesn't seem to disincentivise working, and improves recipientsâ men
Weâre still trying to prove the concept because in the West, Big Business and their owners, The 1%, are screaming at the thought of having to give up a little money so everyone can get universal income that supports life - meaning jobs either have to pay you to put up with the literal shit or people can walk away from them without becoming homeless.
Our entire system is basically based on people being so afraid of homelessness and starvation that theyâll accept any shit job for shit pay.
Past experiments have shown that UBI:
Increases high school graduation rates
Reduces:
Domestic violence
Alcoholism
Emergency room visits related to mental health
Road traffic accidents.
All while not disincentivizing employment for most groups (the exceptions being high school students, who were able to focus on their studies, and new mothersâŠwho were using it as maternity leave!)
People, for the most part, want to work.
UBI would allow us to expand the definition of âwork.â If somebody can live off of UBI, then they can devote themselves to things which we donât currently value financially such as the arts, raising children well, etc.
And if somebody wants to stay home and play video games all dayâŠthen so be it. Not that many will.,..and of those who do most will probably find some way to make that into their âwork,â whether by providing play throughs and tutorials or competing seriously.
If somebody stops working all together as soon as they get UBI and stays home to play video games, they probably desperately needed a break.
There are so many people who are struggling with mental and physical illnesses, and chronic pain, who are still breaking themselves working because they donât have another option - because it can take years to get on disability, and itâs not enough to survive on, so people keep going as long as they possibly can.
Even if itâs not a matter of disability, as such ⊠people get burned out?
Weâre not really built to do school and work with minimal breaks to the extent that we do.
Despite what our puritanical culture says, thereâs no shame in needing a break.
