sometimes depression is so scary because you stop being able to achieve any sense of fulfilment. a huge part of being human is looking forward to things and having treats, goals, rewards, outcomes that you strive towards. if you don’t have those things it can be really, really hard to find any sense of purpose. having depression is asking yourself what do i want to eat, what do i want to watch, what do i want to play, what do i want to listen to, what do i want to do, what am i looking forward to, what’s driving me to keep going, and having the answer be a resounding ‘nothing’
water is a human right. water should be free, at all times, no conditions. all cities should provide public access to free and clean drinking water, toilets, showers, sinks, and soap.
thats what you say when you love someone
no one tells you this but 18-22 may very well be some of the hardest years of your life. if you've been traumatized or you've been hurt or you've gone through rough patches in life, starting as an adult, and doing everything for the first time but differently? it's a new life stage. it's gonna be hard to adjust to for some people.
just like when you turn 13 and everything seems too new and too much and hurts, that's how it can feel when you turn 18. your trauma can catch up to you and if you're like me, you might feel like you're losing yourself to being an insane person for a couple years.
that's okay. you're trying your best with the knowledge you have and you're probably processing trauma 'properly' for the first time, especially as you eek out of the deluge of hormones of teenagerhood. it can be scary and overwhelming when you are suddenly interpreting interactions or trauma in a new way.
you're not broken and you don't have to compare yourself to people who's transitions to adulthood are smoother. they're not you, they don't have your brain, your history, or your hurt. you're doing things your own way on your own time. that's okay.
