A lot of what I (and many other radfems) end up reblogging is about trans activism, but I think much of that is because the gender war is one of the most visible radfem issues in the US! Remember that gender abolition is NOT the sole viewpoint that radfems hold. The radfem agenda also counters pornography, prostitution, kink culture, capitalism, and every other patriarchal institution that oppresses women.  The radical feminist movement is not about a woman’s individual “empowerment” or what makes her feel confident; it’s about the liberation of all women from male supremacy.

These are the Drukpa Buddhist nuns. After the April 25, 2015 earthquake in Nepal, they stayed in devastated areas and helped clear rubble, and provide food and shelter.

This nunnery was inspired to train in kung fu by female martial artists from Vietnam. These nuns defy tradition for Buddhist nuns and eschew domestic work in the service of monks for community service, education and activism.

Also yes i would 100% rather have trans men radfems or nb radfems who recognize that our sex is a factor in misogyny and that it affects them too and that we (female people) must all fight together against gender roles, misogyny, sex trafficking, sexual violence etc than people who think radical feminism is calling people "troons" and saying that all trans people are fetishists and sexual predators.

My post literally says "trans and nb people who recognize that sex is a factor in misogyny" (which it is... no debate here, sorry 😘) and the responses are "WHY do you want people who enforce gender roles be a part of radical feminism?" like no, i don't want that, but trans people are not a monolith, they can and DO think critically about gender, and i care about everyone who's female-bodied and affected by misogyny regardless of identity or politics even (sex! 👏 class! 👏 consciousness! 👏) The problem is that within the parameters of current discourse we can't discuss sex because it's seen as bigoted (doesn't have to be) or discuss how different people have different understanding of gender (incl within trans people themselves)

I think people often forget that trans people are not a hivemind. I don't identify as a man, I am aware of my sex and the misogyny I experience, I recognize the importance of sex based oppression. I have dysphoria and I feel comfortable presenting as the opposite sex, but I know I'm not male 💀 Why should I be excluded from feminist discussions then? Am I "inherently narcissistic?" (@ the notes) Radical feminism is inclusive of every female, whether or not you agree with them, we shouldn't push some away because they have gender/sex dysphoria.

It doesn’t matter because men already have an endless supply of male only spaces and women, especially radfems, have no control over it. My thoughts are to not worry about some man’s hypothetical role reversal that will never happen.

I think you’ll find what most feminist women object to are the spaces where men IN POWER sex segregate away from women in order to remove us from important decision making. Like the well-documented phenomenon of managers scheduling meetings at strip clubs in order to make female employees feel like shit. Radfem are not against male only prisons, bathrooms, change rooms, saunas, shelters, sports teams, etc..

What we’re against is men keeping education, resources, etc. from us, which they do when they have male-only sports (different from sports teams), the idea of “men’s work” vs “women’s work”, male-only Ivy league schools which get all kinds of grants and funding, keeping women out of politics, etc..

Pregnancy is not just for cis women. Trans men and nonbinary people who have uteruses can get pregnant and have children. (Soon, transgender women with transplanted uteruses will be able to conceive and carry their own babies, too!) Inclusive language, gender-affirming healthcare, and perinatal support for transgender parents is important for us, our babies, and our families.

Everyone’s body contains both testosterone and estrogen. The balance of these hormones can affect the behavior of different organs and cycles, such as menstruation, pregnancy, and lactation. Changing estrogen levels control the menstrual cycle. When someone has higher testosterone levels, either naturally or because of medications, their estrogen levels are lower and they may not menstruate. However, that doesn’t mean that pregnancy is impossible. Trans men, genderfluid, genderqueer, and nonbinary people can get pregnant—often, without medical interventions.

Everyone who gets pregnant was born female. It’s very simple. “Transmen, genderqueer, genderfuild and non-binary” that’s a lot of words to say someone born female.

(Soon, transgender women with transplanted uteruses will be able to conceive and carry their own babies, too!)

No they will not. They are males. Harvesting the uteruses of women is not a viable future plan. The uterus in someone’s body does more than grow babies. And a uterus is not all it takes to grow a healthy baby and carry a pregnancy to term. A hysterectomy is serious surgery and women who’ve had them removed for emergency treatment are lifelong medical patients and are monitored closely by their doctors because they become vulnerable to other health issues. Pregnancy is a fact of life for female people, not a “gender affirming experience”. Any move to harvest, buy and sell uteruses to males would affect the poorest and most vulnerable women in the world. It’s an abhorrent thought and the trans ethos of chopping bodies up and swapping parts for aesthetic and gender affirming reasons is medically dangerous and abusive.

You can't support trans women and refuse to call them women

You can’t support women and allow any man who says he feels like a woman to be allowed unregulated access to women and girls

You can’t support women and claim that whether or not you’re a woman depends on how you behave and dress

You can’t support women and have the behaviour and dress standards for women dictated by people who on average have spent over a decade being socialised to hate women

You can’t support women and tell us we’re bad people for fearing rape and violence

You can’t support women and tell us that our only choices are to have invasive unstudied medical treatment to try and make ourselves look like men, or have everyone assume that we actively and totally identify with being treated as stupid and targeted with violence

You can’t support women and encourage any woman who hates her body to just start changing it instead of discussing how hatred of your body, especially sexual anatomy, is an extremely common aspect of the female experience

You can’t support women and tell us that we’re bad people if we object to the emotional manipulation and threats trans women use to try and get us to perform emotional labour for them

You can’t support women and refuse to let us discuss misogyny as it is

You can’t support women and tell us if we object to a set of artificial behavioural standards that were made to crush us then we cannot call ourselves women

You can’t support women and demand we accept in our private spaces people who very openly hate us and our bodies to the point that they feel very comfortable telling us our vulvas are disgusting and dirty and stink, that our pubic hair is obscene, and then whine if we’re anything less than enthusiastic about their bodies

You can’t support women and support a movement that silences all the women who’ve been sexually and psychologically abused by trans women because it might hurt trans women’s feelings

You can’t support women and demand that we not name the problems that affect us for what they are because the feelings of a handful of people are more important than our actual safety

You can’t support women and be a rape apologist

You can’t support women and support a movement that is so excited by violence against women that you create popular blogs to joke about how funny it would be to have women whose behaviour you disagree with set on fire or doused in acid or gang-raped

You can’t support women and hate female bodies so much that you see an artificial hole as equivalent to the complex, beautiful organic system that is female genitalia

You can’t support gay people and insist that gayness is disgusting

You can’t support gay people and tell them that they have to be able to be attracted to anybody who decides they’re eligible, even if that person has previously lived very comfortably as the opposite sex for years

You can’t support gay people and support the transitioning of children starting to show indicators of being gay by their parents

You can’t support gay people and not recognise that being forced to ‘just try’ interacting with the opposite sex is an actual conversion therapy method

You can’t support gay people and demand that they allow complete strangers to decide how they’re allowed to feel on a whim

You can’t support gay people if you support a movement where completely obviously gender-conforming non-dysphoric members of the opposite sex can just say “I am the same sex as you” and then either corner the gay person or create a platform for calling that gay person disgusting and perverted

You can’t support gay people if you support a movement that doesn’t even regard sexual trauma as a fully valid reason to not want to sleep with someone of the opposite sex

You can’t support autistic people and support an ideology that relies on the exact debunked ‘brain sex’ theory that has prevented autistic women from getting diagnosis and support for years

You can’t support neurodivergent women and encourage them to perceive their entirely natural discomfort with performative femininity as a signifier that they’re not women and therefore need sterilising medical treatments

You can’t support dysphoric people if you won’t recognise dysphoria as a symptom of mental illness, often trauma

You can’t support dysphoric people if you attack all discussions of ways to deconstruct the causes of dysphoria so that people don’t need to change their whole lives and bodies unless absolutely necessary

You can’t support dysphoric people if you uphold the system of gender that creates the social restrictions on behaviour that cause so much distress

You can’t support trans people if you support a movement that claims anybody who believes you have to actually have dysphoria to be trans is “truscum”

You can’t support trans people if you attack the people trying to discuss how dangerous the current treatments for trans people can be

You can’t support trans people if you support a movement that hates anyone who detransitions and dares to speak about it

You can’t support trans people if you support a movement that refuses to seriously include trans men

You can’t support trans people if you support a movement whose big names very often turn out to be rapists, murderers and paedophiles

You can’t support trans people if you support a movement that knows its big names are rapists, murderers and paedophiles and openly supports their right to access women and children anyway

You can’t support people of colour if you support a movement that claims they couldn’t understand the concept of sexual biology until white people showed up

You can’t support people of colour if you support a movement that deliberately misinterprets the cultures of other races to use them as props (you can’t support gay people if you refuse to acknowledge how the “third genders” in other cultures very often exist to designate same-sex attracted males as separate from other males. you can’t support women if you refuse to acknowledge that these cultures often have no room in those “third genders” for women because women were not allowed that freedom of expression)

You can’t support people of colour if you support a movement based on the ideas of women of colour and Jewish women, still heavily populated by those women, being equated to Nazism for the purposes of sensationalism

You can’t support people of colour if you refuse to acknowledge how privileged you have to be to feel like you can seriously “identify out” of womanhood 

You support misogyny, homophobia, racism, ableism, and you definitely don’t support anything that would be useful to trans people in the long term. You’re a hypocrite. Trans women will always be male. Trans men will always be female. If trans women don’t want to have their male pattern behaviour discussed for what it is then they need to stop behaving like men. Trans men do not get to demand that female biology isn’t called what it is, because trans men’s feelings are always going to be worth less than the safety and wellbeing of females as a whole group.
