we really need to push back on this increasingly common idea that an adult and a child can never have anything in common and should never be interacting outside of very specific, strictly monitored circumstances. growing up my mom would take us to the park and she would also play with the other random kids who were there, I don't think you can do this anymore. I spent most of my 8th grade lunches hanging out alone with my english teacher talking about books and life and culture, I don't think this would be allowed anymore. the potential for someone to exploit a child and do harm will always be there, but I think acting like children can never benefit from a friendship with an adult really just harms children in the long run. as a child/teen who dealt with severe mental illness, to this day I still remember the impact that kind adults had on me growing up.
THIS IS SOME 10PM ASS 5:30PM WE'RE HAVING!!!!!!
autumn/winter affirmations:
7 p.m. is not late
your day is not over at 7 p.m.
you are allowed to leave your house after it gets dark
7 p.m. is so early
5 p.m. is not late
your day is not over at 5 p.m.
you are allowed to leave your house after it gets dark
5 p.m. is so early
3:30 p.m. is not late
your day is not over at 3:30 p.m.
you are allowed to leave your house after it gets dark
3:30 p.m. is so early
(For purposes of this pole, triplets, quads etc count as twins.)
Do you know any twins in real life?
I AM a twin
I have twins in my immediate family
I have twins in my extended family
I know a twin some other social setting (work, school, friend group, etc)
I have never met a twin in real life
kinda bothered that people don't seem to imagine fertility could be a sensitive subject for trans women
in my gender studies class a classmate came and sat down in front of me and another trans woman and told us how the university might not be paying for students' plan B anymore, but then they said "well, not that that's relevant to either of you" like...??? thanks I don't need to be reminded I can't bear children can we not just discuss this injustice together
i.like drawing bunnies

I stole this meme #abolish private property
Oh and I want to fight all the Gen Z kids who are like ‘teehee, we’ll just do lavender marriages instead!’ Some of us are adults who want equal rights and protections under the law of our land.
Yeah, we wanted legal marriages because your spouse's horrid family could show up, get you kicked out of the hospital, steal all of their stuff, and there was nothing you could do about it.
When my wife went in for surgery before we got married, it was me and her horrifically homophobic mother in the surgery center waiting room and I knew without a doubt that if anything went wrong, I would be expected to leave without any access to her belongings, the pictures of us on her phone, or the funeral itself, and the obituary would not mention me or our relationship at all.
And that was after almost a decade of marriage equality! The fear and anxiety leading up to that surgery and the recovery process after reinforced for me just how important marriage can be. It’s a form of self-determination.
Lest we forget
