Carlsbad Caverns: Hall of Giants
Carlsbad Caverns
On Tuesday, December 17, 2013 my wife and I will be departing on a road trip from San Diego, California out to West Texas to get ahold of some genuine BBQ! We'll drive all day Tuesday and arrive in the evening. We're going to try a place I read about on the Full Custom BBQ blog called Pody's. Now, I know this isn't the best BBQ in Texas, but it's the closest I can get without driving much much further. We're already going to be driving for 13 hours! On the trip back we'll be heading up to Carlsbad Caverns! I'm definitely very excited for this trip, we're going to try to do it in four days. We've both got tattoo appointments on Saturday, so we've got to be back in San Diego by then.
Why this picture? Well, I can't leave town without bringing a bag of beans and my french press. I'm going to bring a grinder with me as well. I'm pretty sure I can find hot water for tea just about anywhere, so I'm not too worried about bringing a kettle.

Perfect day at the beach and longboarding in Cali today !
I truly do love the city that I live in. It's late October and I can wear shorts and a t-shirt. Can your city boast about that?
Today, 10 years ago to be exact, Elliot Smith died. I was sitting in my dorm room at the University of Rhode Island with my good friend Jesse. Social Media was still in it's infancy, so if I remember correctly we found out through a text or possibly an IM. We were both shocked. It was a sad day. Thinking about how much of an influence he had on musicians and people alike though I'm filled with joy. At least he made many people happy, and at the end of the day that is truly all artist's aspiration.
