Your routines are a love letter to your future self
May you never abandon yourself again, especially for what isn’t choosing you.
Hey.
Yeah you- the person reading this. Stop scrolling for a second.
You’re going to be okay. You have to believe that. It might take a long time and who knows how much work, but you’re going to be okay.
You’re going to be okay.
You’re going to be okay.
Your softness is not the problem. Access to you is.
Your lack of boundaries is!
I published my first piece!!!!
You can feel something intense, electric, almost magical with someone… and they can still have zero intention or even ability to build something real with you
Chemistry doesn’t equal commitment. Connection doesn’t equal capacity. Attraction doesn’t equal interest. Attention doesn’t equal intention. Having sex doesn’t equal commitment
But when you’re in it, those moments feel like proof. The late night talks. The eye contact. The constant texting. The physical closeness. It feels like it has to mean something
But attraction is easy. Attention is cheap. And physical intimacy can happen without emotional availability. None of those things automatically mean someone is interested in being with you
A lot of people get caught up in bragging about these things “They’re obsessed with me.” “We talk every day.” “We hooked up.” "All these people I hooked up with like me." as if those moments automatically mean something solid
When we inflate those things into proof of love or value, what we’re really doing is trying to soothe our ego. We want it to mean we’re chosen. We want it to mean we’re special. We want it to mean this is going somewhere
If you’re not grounded in your own worth, that spark will pull you in hard. And the longer you stay in a dynamic where you’re not clearly being chosen, something deeper starts happening
Your nervous system adapts to the instability
The anxiety becomes familiar. The inconsistency starts to feel normal. The highs and lows register as “passion” instead of stress. You don’t even realize you’re being conditioned to associate love with uncertainty
No amount of chemistry is worth teaching your body that love equals anxiety. No connection is powerful enough to justify lying awake at night wondering where you stand
Real interest is consistent. Real intention is clear. Real commitment doesn’t leave you guessing. The right connection won’t require you to abandon yourself just to keep it alive
Today’s society seems to me much busier, noisier, and more superficial than ever. Compared with previous decades, life moves very quickly and people seem to think that this is good but I don’t agree. Friedrich Nietzsche warned us of the possibility of creating so-called "last men" who are comfortable yet lack any direction.
We all witness it every day when people rely on casual sex rather than meaningful relationships and when they turn interactions into public performances via social media. They "ghost" someone via text instead of talking face-to-face, they seek "clout" rather than genuine respect, they prefer to watch endless hours of reality television instead of getting to know what is happening in their own community. Technology is evolving faster than most of us can comprehend it, and as a result, technology runs on its own logic, as Jacques Ellul said years ago.
Peoples dining habits today reflect the same trend when families rarely gather for dinner, apps pick up takeout instead of cooking together at home, phones are at the dinner table instead of being used as tools for conversation, and people are becoming increasingly cavalier about providing private/public information on social media, posting anything about their lives without fear of reprisal or having to deal with the consequences of their decisions.
Maybe I’m just old-fashioned in spirit, but I’m not sold on a world where everything’s optimized except meaning. Where people know the algorithm better than their neighbors, and convenience has replaced care. It seems efficient, but the soul is harder to come by.
My heart will always be soft. I will never stop looking for the good and love in everything. You can’t take that away from me.

puttering around the house is an underrated form a self-care. make some tea or coffee. put on a podcast. sort the mail. tidy some pillows and fold some blankets. start the laundry. thaw some soup. just casually wander around aimlessly doing little things to make your space and life a little nicer. who cares if you get distracted or only do a little. you aren't being productive. you're puttering.
