I don’t know. Ever since I first saw that scene, without a doubt, I honest to god believed that Sorey said “gomen”. The situation and mood that builds up in that scene, plus the lip synch all, I never thought that Sorey would say something other than that…

My brother and I had a lengthy-ish discussion about this, and he and I agree and disagree on certain things. For one, we agree that it’s “gomen/gomen ne” ( I said the lip synch had 2 syllables but he said it’s 3 when looked closely ).
Edit : We’re debating now, and I’m beginning to doubt my own belief.

So naturally, I asked him to go through any japanese threads about the topic in discussion ( while I try to dig through english thread ). And BOI DO WE ARGUE A LOT ABOUT THINGS.
It was a lengthy chat, so I’m just going to summarize points???
- Discussing the list of possibilities of that Sorey might say.
- We got sidetracked for a few short minutes when he found something about Rose’s name in the epilogue grave scene, which in in-game language is actually “Roser”??? Someone cracked the language thing??? How??? But it still doesn’t make sense to me or my brother, so we moved on without question.
- 2 syllables? 3? I saw 2. He said he saw 2 at first, but reading other people’s comments and seeing it closer, he finally saw 3. So we tried thinking of 2-3 syllables words of what Sorey might say ( in japanese of course ).Which kinda only downed to 2 possibility after arguing some more, which is “Gomen/gomen ne” and “Ikiro.- His end of the thread is more to people suggesting it’s either those two. Most leaned on “gomen ne” though. The rest leaned on “ikiro”.
- People in the threads leaned on “gomen ne” by using lip sync as rebuttal. Lots of ‘convincing’ going on there.
- Both of us agreed that the english threads are… *looks at the garbage bin*
- We had another new unrelated short discussion about Heldalf bleeding on the head even though he was stabbed on the chest, but that’s irrelevant right now- In such situation, it would also make sense that Sorey said “Ikiro” ( live on ), or “gomen” ( sorry ). I lean more to the ‘sorry’, but upon reading the threads on my bro’s side, quite a number of people believe that ‘live on’ is a strong possibility that shouldn’t be brushed off without consideration. Which brings us to our next argument.
