This is your periodic reminder that the story of Jesus flipping over tables in the Temple is inherently antisemitic and holding it up as a great example of “fighting capitalism” or some such in the modern day is also antisemitic because those people in the Temple were doing what they were instructed to do in the Torah (in Exodus) to help make the Temple more accessible to those who lived far away. Indeed. The reason for those money exchangers was because Temple sacrifices needed to be pure and unharmed animals. The further away one was from Jerusalem, the greater the likelihood any sacrifice they brought from their home to the Temple would be harmed along the way, and thus they’d be ineligible to make that sacrifice and observe that crucial part of Temple Judaism. So the rule was made in the Torah, well in advance of when we even had the Temple, that people who lived far away from Jerusalem would sell the animal for whatever type of sacrifice they were to do, take that money, and then go exchange it at the Temple itself for the proper animal for said sacrifice. The whole purpose of the money exchangers was to help people have accessibility to the Temple and help them observe their religion.

Because the existence of billionaires is predicated on the exploitation of human labor and unsustainable environmental harm.  That level of wealth hoarding is harmful to economies, as it reduces the amount of money in circulation. No one person, no family, could ever conceivably even SPEND a billion dollars anyway, and  it is inherently immoral to accumulate wealth so narrowly while so much of the world lives in abject poverty.  

Better then to create a wealth ceiling, a point at which all wealth over a certain point  is taxed at or very near 100% to incentivize people to actually spend their money rather than hoard it, stimulating the economy and bettering the lives of far more people. Better even still to create and regulate economic systems that protect workers and the environment in a way that such extreme levels of wealth accumulation aren’t even feasible.
