“you’re not gonna keep me company?”
Rue:
May you be protected from all eyes that are secretly not happy to see you win in life.
The Craft (1996) dir. Andrew Fleming
Listen pal, the subtitles stay ON.
I never thought I would be siding with the pope’s involvement in politics and cheering him on. I will say that.
In case you need the reminder, it's a privilege to touch another person's body, not a right.
ever since i was a little girl i knew i wanted to deny location sharing and turn off personalized ads and reject all non-essential cookies and not set up siri and face ID
you know i don’t think we often talk about how difficult it actually is to suddenly realize that a belief you thought was good and moral and correct was actually really fucking toxic. how you have to look at something and go ‘oh shit, oh i fucked up. oh this is going to take probably years at minimum to deprogram from my brain because of all the little ways this shit pervaded the rest of my beliefs’
so. to all the people picking up all the pieces of a recently shattered world-view and trying to figure out what is safe to keep and what has to be thrown away and started over
to all the people having to relearn how to even listen to other people
to all the people putting in the work to do better while struggling with the guilt that comes from finding out you were the asshole
i’m proud of y’all.
it’s hard to admit being wrong and even harder to change in the aftermath. just keep doing the best you can and just know that the effort is appreciated. everyone can change. everyone can do better. keep fighting.
It gets easier, though.
After the first time, when you don’t know if you can look at yourself in the mirror for shame, but you tell yourself “we know better, we do better”. You shift your attitude and your perspective, correct your language, and move forward.
It happens again. But you know how this works, and you feel less shame and more gratitude because this is GROWTH we’re working on. We know better, we do better.
Then you help someone else get past that horrible feeling because SHAME is making it about yourself, and that’s not why we’re here. I used to think like that too, but You know better, you do better.
It’s like a muscle, the ability to listen to others, hear what they have to say, and then integrate it into how you think and what you do.
The crux of the anti trans movement is a war on bodily autonomy. They don't want you to have any agency over what you look like, how you dress, who you date, whether to have kids, etc.
They want total control over you. Not just trans people. Not just queer people. You. Everyone.
Trans people are just a scapegoat. They want total control over everyone's self expression. They want the right to mold you into their perfect little cog in their dehumanizing machine.
Happy Trans Day of Visibility. Our rights are your rights. Our destruction is your destruction.
10/10 post bringing it back for 2026
Ok, am I like the ONLY person who actually liked BOTH Steve and Joe???
