I work with kids and sometimes we have to do safety lessons with them about like, not telling strangers on the internet your home address or something. And sometimes the kids wont understand why, so you have to impart upon them that, well, some adults want to hurt children. And thats kind of difficult to do, because you have to beat around the bush, both because you dont want to scare them (while still making them understand how serious it is) and because you might lose your job if you explain it too straight forward.

Luckily, for some reason, the villain of one of the most popular franchises with children for the last 10 years happens to be a serial child murderer. So when a kid asks why they shouldnt trust strangers, instead of hand wringing and humhawing my answer out, I can just say "we dont always know when a strange adult has good intentions with children, or when they are William Afton."

Ive never liked horror movies because of the excessive use of the same tropes over and over, and the main characters getting into bad situations because they are stupid with no survival instinct.

What made obsession and backrooms my favorite horror movies immediately, is that the main characters don't suffer because they are stupid. They suffer because they are bad and selfish people. Also really love the idea that the horror is a punishment to the main character for their arrogance.

Truly baffling to me the way people have been talking about you in regards to ur posts on Argentina. It is so endlessly frustrating when people treat racism as strictly a usamerican thing when it is FAR from that. Many countries across the world have an almost identical history of kidnapping and enslaving African people and that does not by any means exclude any places in Latin America. I'm currently reading a book detailing the history of Black people in Latin American countries but more specifically Brazil, and there are COUNTLESS racist paintings depicting Black enslaved people serving lighter skinned families. This has NEVER been a strictly usamerican issue. There are countless racist paintings from these countries depicting different interracial relationships and the 'type of child' they would bring forth...but god forbid Black ppl in the present bring up the history of racism Racism against Black ppl is GLOBAL and it has been for a long time. Those paintings aren't just 'in the past' if the racism in your country is never acknowledged or discussed, there has been no effort to move past it. It is not the fault of Black ppl to point out the racism that is NEVER acknowledged in Latin American countries. It takes like a two second google search to learn that the US isnt the only country that has enslaved African people. But ppl are more willing to harass Black ppl online for discussing racism than they are to learn anything. Hoping u are doing alright today, it never does seem to get much easier on here <3

ehh, I mean, they're just gonna have to be mad 😅 it does suck, to be purposely mistranslated and misunderstood so someone can feel entitled to their racist lashing-out, but I said it before, antiblackness sells. All you gotta do on this app is be antiblack, or hate trans women, and you'll get notes who Too, feel Victimized by the Bully Blacks and Transes. Just toss in some (misused) "anti-imperialism", or "yank", "gringo", and "American" in there, and suddenly the post or their intentions are Not Racist anymore lol.

People have literally been killed for talking about these topics on a larger scale, so it's not like I thought it would ever be easy or go enemy-less for it. Comes with the territory. No choice but to move forward. I found that book discussing the systemic erasure of Blackness in Argentina, and we're gonna read it for book club. We'll all learn together what's going on. I talked to my friend last night. She extended the deadline to two weeks. But she did say if I could plan a flight sooner or later it would be good that way I would be with her if she has to move from her house to an apartment. She would be placed in an apartment alone which she doesn't want to be so she wants me there with her. (Her parents ask me to room with her, so to help me they got an apartment for me and her. Their plan was to have me be her roommate since she came back from the ER, she is unable to move on her own! And I won't hesitate to be there for her.) Plus we are very close and she needs me more than ever and for her parents to be nice enough to buy an apartment so me and her can be roommates is something I don't mind doing.

Still, I want to try and get $500-$600 this week so I can get started getting a plane ticket ASAP so I can get to my friend. PLEASE! She needs me and I need her 😭 PAYPAL
