Glassblowers and hat makers are so funny bc they're so obviously insanely skilled in these difficult crafts and 9 times out of 10 they're using that skill to make the tackiest shit you've ever seen
my favoritest thing in hermitcraft fanfiction is when it takes place in a pseudo-minecraft fantasy realm but the hermits are still sometimes described with their nationalities. like okay this is a world where magic exists and you can respawn after you die and the entirety of reality sometimes gets new features added and new worlds can be created out of thin air, each with their own accompanying otherworldly pocket dimensions, and some people have special admin powers that allow them to alter the fabric of reality, and gods/cosmic horror monsters/a weird cult called the Watchers may or may not inhabit the spaces in between existence. also Canada exists. Canada exists here and we are not going to address it
Canada perfectly fits in, in my personal opinion

Was trying to make a joke about TV writing to my friend the other day and had to pause and go "...does the phrase 'surf dracula' mean anything to you?"
One of the most important critical texts of this century imo
image description: tweet by @/topherflorence, reading: back in the day if u did a tv show called surf dracula you'd see that fool surfing every week in new adventures but in the streaming era the entire 1st season gotta be a long ass flashback to how he got the surfboard until you finally get to see him surf for 5 min in the finale /end description

Audio drama is a weird industry to work in because one person's low budget means "We have $100 ever. Maybe $105 but only if we really need that extra 5 bucks." And then another's "We cannot justify the $30,000 console and $10,000 worth of mics we wanted to use, so we're making do with the $1200 mixer/recorder combo and $1500 worth of mics in Steve's basement studio." And then every once in a while you'll run into a guy from a Hollywood background whose low budget is "we're really only willing to spend $100k on this unless it blows up."
But the really insane thing is that these people will interact and think they all have the same version of low budget, leading to a "budget" mic recommendation where the shock mount alone is more than the person is willing to spend on their entire season.
Anyway, if you're asking for budget audio recommendations, it really helps if you throw out a number rather than "not too much."
