Hello, I go by Cas and this is my writing blog. Requests are currently open!
Current request count: 6
Masterlist is here :)
A few rules:
I can decline a request for any reason.
If the gender of the reader is not specified, the reader will be gender-neutral.
I write both platonic and romantic; if the request doesn't specify which to do and I can’t tell via context clues, I will write in a way that could imply either.
Sometimes I write in bullet points, sometimes I write in full paragraphs. If you prefer one format, please mention it, and if nothing is specified I will (probably) stick to bullet points. Paragraphs will take much longer to finish than bullet points.
Feel free to pop into my inbox for requests, or just to talk about the characters or game! I hope this can be a space where everyone is welcome.
I am rather busy (and forgetful) so requests may take a while; I apologize in advance.
I will write:
SFW requests, such as fluff
Reader of any gender
Darker topics excluding things in the “will not write” category
I will not write:
NSFW, please do not request anything of the sort. I can maybe imply mild suggestive stuff but overall it makes me uncomfortable to read/write.
Yandere
Excessive gore (I am fine with writing injuries and similar prompts but will not go into much detail)
Characters I will write for:
Zenless Zone Zero
Belle
Wise
Anby Demara
Billy Kid
Nicole Demara
Nekomiya Mana / Nekomata (platonic only)
Koleda Belobog
Grace Howard
Anton Ivanov
Von Lycaon
Corin Wickes (platonic only)
Ellen Joe (platonic only)
Zhu Yuan
Seth Lowell
Jane Doe
Caesar King
Lucy
Hoshimi Miyabi
Soukaku (platonic only)
Tsukishiro Yanagi
Soldier 11
Astra Yao
Evelyn
Vivian Banshee
Hugo Vlad
Orphie
Seed (platonic only)
Note: More characters will likely be added as I learn more about them! (I have some Agent stories to finish)
Feel free to let me know if a character marked "platonic only" is actually not a minor, but overall if someone has that note I'm just not comfortable writing romantic scenarios with them regardless of age.
Requesting Zhu Yuan, Nicole, Lucy reaction to finding out they s/o was officer mew mew
Hello and thank you so much for making me laugh out loud when I first read this. It was a fun one to write, and I hope you enjoy it!
It’s worth noting that while Officer Mewmew uses he/him pronouns in-game, everything below is written for a gender-neutral reader (because I forgot until I was doing my final proofread, oops). Also, fun fact that’s probably somewhat known already: Trigger is certain she knows who’s inside the costume, but says the Proxy wouldn’t believe her if she told them.
Lucy, Nicole, and Zhu Yuan x reader (separate, romantic)
Contains: gender neutral reader, reader is Officer Mewmew (and has Mewmew’s in-game personality)
Lucy
She knew you worked in Pubsec, you’d mentioned it a few times and helped out the Sons of Calydon when they weren’t sure where to start on things like license renewal or permit applications. But she had no idea you were Officer Mewmew.
She’s also never paid much attention to the Pubsec mascot who frequents Blazewood. Thus, when she passes by one day and hears your voice coming out of it in a teasing “What’s up?” she is, needless to say, completely shocked.
(Yes, she may have screamed. No, she will not admit to it in the future.)
She’s quick to leave, and you can see her red face even through the limited vision of your eye holes.
When she next sees you off the clock, she has many questions for you. How long you’ve been doing this, why didn’t you say anything, how you went so long without collapsing from heatstroke in this weather, and more.
You notice her in your area more frequently afterwards, waving as she passes by and sometimes even stopping with a cold drink that she shoves into your gloved hand when no one is looking. You’re not supposed to accept gifts from civilians, but it’s not as if she could be stopped.
“What, I can’t make sure my partner doesn’t overheat in their fursuit?”
And before you can point out that it technically isn’t, she’s lifted up your headpiece, shoved another water bottle inside your costume, and disappeared.
Several citizens would wonder why the Pubsec mascot seemed a little deformed in the next few minutes, head sinking into its body and one arm limp as you retrieved the bottle from the bottom of one leg.
You, on the other hand, were content to pretend the spectacle had never occurred.
Nicole
She probably would have figured it out earlier if she paid more attention to Officer Mewmew, but all she knew was what she’d heard from the managers of Random Play: citizens were encouraged to carry out good deeds by a costumed Pubsec officer with a pleasant disposition.
They also had some rather amusing stories to share, and the conclusion Nicole had drawn was that Officer Mewmew’s vision was extremely limited under that mask.
So the next time she sees debt collectors approaching her on Sixth Street, she flees through the alleyway and ducks behind your bulky costume, easily managing to stay inside your very large blind spot.
As she hears footsteps rushing past her hiding place, she can’t help but breathe a sigh of relief– and then nearly jumps out of her skin when she hears your voice calling her name.
It takes her a few seconds before she realizes that 1) you’re inside the mascot costume, and 2) somehow, she’s never managed to figure out you’re working for Pubsec. You’d always described your job as something along the lines of “bringing peace and encouragement to the citizens of New Eridu”, and it really sounded like you did some kind of charity work.
It’s as if a switch has been flipped, and she’s suddenly hugging you and talking about how happy she is to run into her beloved partner, and here of all places, aren’t you so glad to see her too?
You hug her back, of course, but you also have to remind her you’re on the clock. It’s a good thing, since most of her reaction is just panic-induced rambling.
Nicole is able to get herself under control and takes her leave as soon as she can; and then it clicks: Belle and Wise’s stories about Officer Mewmew crashing into the door of Random Play, assuming the Outer Ring residents were planning an attack instead of a welcome party, jumping into the harbor at Port Elpis in full costume… it’s all you.
The next time you see her off the clock, she’s quick to tease you, mentioning your moments with the video store managers and causing you to blush furiously.
But don’t worry, she’s quick to reassure you. She thinks it’s adorable!
(And also hopefully you won’t remember to ask why she was hiding behind you.)
She’ll have to be a little more careful with her borderline-legal activities going forward, but at the same time, will you really suspect anything? You always assume the best of everyone. It’s one of the things she really likes about you, and she’s determined to not be the reason that positive outlook of yours is shattered.
Zhu Yuan
She technically had an idea even before you two really got to know each other. As a higher-ranking officer, she has access to most of the station’s employment records and remembers seeing your name among them. But your job description reads “manage community contributions and boost citizen morale” without further elaboration, so she doesn’t exactly know what you do.
Imagine her surprise when she clocks in early, about to enter her office before seeing a headless mascot with you clearly inside.
So this explains why she never ran into you at work.
Secretly, she’s a little glad you don’t work in a more dangerous department. If you’re getting home late, she can rest assured it’s not because you were injured– most likely, your headpiece got stuck when you were taking off your costume.
Zhu Yuan definitely asks you if the mascot is supposed to be a cat or an otter after her debate with Miyabi. She’s sure it’s a cat, but it can’t hurt to double-check. Right?
She definitely finds you the next time Miyabi brings it up, so you can give the answer to Miyabi in person.
After your reveal, she makes an effort to find and greet you before clocking in at the station every day. Hugs from a fluffy mascot with one of her favorite people inside were hard to pass up, after all.
Can you do Jane Doe and Evelyn with an S/O who works as an undercover agent? They’re a master of disguise like Sparkle from HSR. In Jane’s they work with her while with Evelyn’s they work alongside her to protect Astra.
I imagine with Jane Doe that she’s unsure if the person they are is their true identity. Though she can’t point it out given how she is with hers, thus it can be a game to them of whoever finds out whose identity first.
Hello, here it is! Finally made it past some technical difficulties so my documents can actually be edited again, thank you for the request :)
Evelyn and Jane Doe x Reader (separate, romantic)
Contains: gender neutral reader
Evelyn
Your time together started as simple coworkers. You respected her swift, effective fighting, and she respected how you could actually convince Astra Yao to wear a better disguise than a pair of sunglasses. (You had promised to make her look like a completely different person, and Astra was happy to commit fully.)
Your ability to look like almost anyone – and to replicate that with wigs, makeup, and costume changes for Astra others – was to be respected too, of course.
That respect grew into curiosity, and the curiosity led to your bonding. It wasn’t too difficult, either. Astra’s mischievous side was something you could both sigh and shake your head over, and her various escapades were an easy segue into interesting stories from your or Evelyn’s past.
Both of you were careful with the specifics of what you shared, but your connection grew drastically stronger with time.
She could tell you were hiding things, but she never pressed you. You seemed to share her desire to protect your mutual charge, and your past didn’t interfere with how well you did your job.
It took a long time, but Evelyn was the one to ask you out. You initially hesitated, given that she didn’t know the full you, and maybe wouldn’t ever be able to. It took some reassurance on her part, but hey, you wanted her and she wanted you. Eventually you decided to just go for it.
Astra was absolutely thrilled when you got together. Somehow, she had found out about your interest pretty early on, and was constantly not-so-subtly trying to push you to confess.
(You later found out she was doing the exact same to Evelyn, who caved first.)
The first time you showed yourself to Evelyn without any alterations to your natural appearance, she couldn’t help but stare. Later, you’d see her new contact photo of you, taken sneakily when you weren’t looking but still surprisingly clear.
Those moments, saved for when you’re off the clock and with her only, become more frequent and more valuable as the days go by. You don’t think about the fact that, as an undercover agent, you could be assigned elsewhere and expected to sever all ties at any given time. You don’t think about it.
There are things you can’t tell her, but rather than lying, you’re upfront about what you’re not allowed to say– and she’s perfectly okay with that; Evelyn has her mysterious past too. While she's curious about yours, she knows you’ll tell her when you’re ready.
And if there comes a day when you’re forced to leave, she will hold onto you with all she has, while hoping with all her heart you do the same.
Jane Doe
Jane fully expected to live a lonely life. Not “lonely” as in lacking people, she interacts with too many to count. Rather, the opportunity to form a deep, unshakeable bond with another was one she had fully expected to forgo while walking her chosen path.
So when she met you, one who led a life very similar to hers, she couldn’t help but prod you a bit– and thus began your game.
When she could, Jane enjoyed walking about the city and seeing if she could recognize you at work. Your mannerisms, voice, appearance– all were hidden better than she’d seen from any disguise before. Her interest was piqued, and as you discovered the consultant was looking into you, so too was yours.
Honestly, she’s like to say she knew exactly how the two of you got together, but it just kind of… happened. One teasing remark that could have been flirting, a similarly ambiguous reply, times a thousand and now you two were definitely romantically involved.
Your relationship is rooted in trust, yet your full self is unknown to her– and vice versa. There are just some things each of you are unable to share, but your faith in each other is what makes keeping those secrets okay. No matter what, you and Jane know you care for the other deeply.
Jane doesn’t want to think about the possibility that your jobs may drive you two apart one day. You may be her weakness, but dwelling on it would definitely dampen the mood. Better to remember your relationship as it is now, this thrilling game which keeps her delightfully entertained.
(Someday, she promises herself, she’ll look you in the eyes and relay the depth of her feelings with the utmost sincerity, unfiltered by the police consultant identity she’s built for all of New Eridu.)
"Please please pretty please, oh GLORIOUS Cas, may I be ever so bold to request some head cannons of the Cunning Hares reacting to y/n (or whatever name you use) getting hurt and them taking care of your after??? (It doesn't have to be super duper detailed or whatever just fluff) If not, just Billy pleaseee???? If not I completely understand, hope you have a great day!!
Hello, how could I refuse such a flattering request? :)
I did skip Nicole since I just wrote a prompt with her and I’m not as good at writing her, but if you’d like me to write for her with this prompt, feel free to send in another request. (Also, I think my favoritism might be showing a bit but I hope I did Billy justice all the same, since from the ask he seems to be your favorite!)
Anby, Billy, and Nekomata x reader (separate)
Contains: gender neutral reader (they/them pronouns), Cunning Hare!Reader, ambiguous relationship in Nekomata's (others have romance implied), descriptions of injury/blood, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it reference to Anby’s agent quest
When the Cunning Hares received a commission from a shipping company whose goods were lost in a hollow, how could they refuse a client in need? (At least, that was how Nicole put it when she accepted on the group's behalf. Her haggling on the price was, in her words, irrelevant.) Mission objective: find the goods, check on the driver, and get everything and everyone out of the Hollow.
Everything starts out well. The driver is easy to find, and somehow everything has remained intact– truck included. The Cunning Hares escort it to the edge of the Hollow, and because the universe seems to think they don't deserve an easy job, they run smack into a band of Ethereals.
None of them are particularly difficult to fight, but you have some difficulty due to their sheer numbers. Out of the corner of your eye, you see that the Ethereals have completely forgotten about the truck and its driver, who drive out of the Hollow almost unnoticed. Good. One less thing to worry about.
Despite Anby telling everyone to stick together, you all are pushed apart, but surely it'll be ok. After all, everyone can handle themselves just fine, right?
Anby
You and Anby are a few feet apart, taking down Ethereals with careful precision. As they continue to approach, you end up standing back-to-back. You can hear the rest of the Hares outside of your little circle, and they luckily seem to be doing alright.
The smaller Ethereals are dealt with quickly and easily, and before you can think about it you and Anby are facing down the last one who dared to challenge the two of you. It's larger than the rest, and vaguely dog-like in its movements as it approaches on four legs.
Both you and Anby manage to evade its charge, separating to force it to pick a target. The latter’s sword had bounced right off its thick armor, so you would need to find a way to break it enough to do some real damage. Both of you approach, keeping it between the two of you. Like an absurd game of monkey-in-the-middle, you can’t help but think.
You assume the Ethereal would lash out with its head at its intended target, just as it had charged the two of you. It turns to face Anby, leaving you with an opportunity to strike– but you're proven wrong as its long, whip-like tail lashes out and makes contact with your leg. Suddenly, supporting your own weight is too painful to even think about, and through a haze of pain you register your body hitting the floor.
You hear her shout, “Stay there!” and see lightning arcing across the body of the Ethereal.
You’ve just started to sit back up when you feel a pair of strong arms lifting you, and you are pulled off to the side. Anby is quick to put you down and jump back into the fray, between you and the Ethereal.
Despite her instructions, you do try to stand– and fail miserably, falling back to the ground with a pained grimace.
It isn’t long before Anby takes care of the Ethereal, and she immediately rushes to your side. Her fingers brush against your leg as she examines it carefully, and she pulls a first aid kit out of her backpack to begin patching you up.
You offer to help, but she only motions for you to hold the gauze in place while she wraps the wound after cleaning it. She is completely focused on tending to you, and as you glance around, you can see that the rest of the Hares have everything well in hand. They finish the job quickly and join you, mostly uninjured save for a few minor scrapes and bruises.
By this time, Anby has finished wrapping your leg, and as you all prepare to leave the Hollow, you attempt to stand once again–
Only to be swept off the ground by Anby, who insists you shouldn’t be walking on an injury like this.
You ask if she’s really alright with carrying you all the way back, and receive only a simple “Of course,” so you concede and wrap your arms around her neck to stay in place.
She seems to have no trouble holding you, even as you ask her multiple times if she wants a break. But Anby refuses all the way until you get to Nicole’s car. Her strength is really something, you can’t help but think.
At Anby’s request, Billy is the one to drive them back. That’s fair, you suppose- Nicole’s driving is far too reckless for you to appreciate at the moment, and with five of you total there’s no room in the car to properly elevate your leg. Although the bleeding has stopped, it still hurts. Anby notices when you wince as the car goes over a speed bump, warning Billy to drive more gently.
She also scoots as close as she can, wrapping an arm around you and taking your hands in her remaining one. Anby doesn’t say a word, but her intention is clear: it’ll be okay. I’ve got you.
At first, she had insisted on going to a hospital, but Nekomata was quick to point out that you had been injured while inside a Hollow, unauthorized. Getting caught would be a quick way to end the Cunning Hares’ days of hollow raiding.
So Anby carries you home as well, and spends the next week or so practically at your beck and call. She refuses to let you try to walk anywhere without assistance until the wound has fully closed and shown positive signs of healing, and she’ll pick up groceries or order takeout for both of you (usually burgers, of course).
Even after you’ve fully healed, you notice her still watching you from the corner of her eye, and always sticking close when you’re out on jobs. You point out that you can still handle yourself and getting hurt was a one-off thing, but Anby still can’t shake her worry or her instinct to protect you. It’s far too easy for a life to be snuffed out, and she can’t afford to let her guard down for even a second, lest you or another Hare be lost in action.
Anby fights to protect the people she cares about. She doesn’t know what she would do if she couldn’t keep you safe, but she hopes with all her heart that she will never find out the hard way. She can't lose you too.
Billy
These Ethereals are acting smarter than most others Billy's encountered. They’re each focusing on a single Hare, slowly but surely separating the group.
He's fast, but as a ranged fighter, he really doesn't appreciate how they kept getting in his face– any closer and he might actually risk serious damage. He won’t be able to afford the maintenance bill if they seriously mess him up– working with Nicole meant his salary was fair, but paid on a not-so-regular basis.
Focus, Billy.
He climbs on top of some taller Ether crystals, preventing the smaller monsters from reaching him while also affording him an excellent vantage point. On his left is Anby, clearly a force to be reckoned with as lightning flashes and Ethereals disintegrate upon contact with her blade. Nekomata is holding her own as well, her back to Nicole, who was pulling you to the side-
Wait, more like she’s carrying you. And not having the easiest time of it either; you’re practically deadweight in her arms. Are your eyes even open?
Before Billy can start thinking, he’s emptying his magazines to cover Nicole. And when he runs out of bullets, he jumps off the formation and immediately rushes to you. Anby and Nekomata can take care of the rest.
“What happened?” he asks Nicole as he helps her lower you to the ground, and immediately drops to your side.
She stands and begins fending off the Ethereals heading towards your group, positioned between them and Billy. “I don’t know, just saw them fall!”
That wasn’t very helpful, a tiny voice whispers in the back of his mind, but he pushes it aside to focus on your condition. Nicole did her best, it’s probably not her fault you’re hurt.
Billy isn’t too well-versed in first aid, but he can see a mark on your head, with the area around it already starting to bruise. That explains your unresponsiveness, and while he has no way to see how serious the injury is other than by looking, he hopes the damage isn’t permanent.
As soon as Nicole finishes off the Ethereals approaching Billy and you, he relays this information to her. She’s already grabbed a few first aid supplies and nudges his arms aside so she can reach your head. “Keep watch for me, would you?”
Billy obliges, and when there is no immediate threat towards him, you, or Nicole, he begins picking off the Ethereals that haven’t yet fallen to Anby or Nekomata. The fight is finished quickly, and soon he’s rushing everyone to leave the Hollow with you in his arms.
When you crack open your eyes, the first thing you register is sunlight. It’s far too bright, but when you turn your head away, you’re met with a pounding headache. It’s easier to just keep your eyes closed– but as they slip shut once again, you hear a frantic voice calling for you not to do that. Reluctantly, you force them open once again, and thankfully this time you’re instead met with the face of a familiar android in red.
Billy explains that the job is done, and the Cunning Hares have left the Hollow. As soon as he gets the chance, he takes you to a doctor to make sure you’ll really be okay. Head injuries aren’t something the Cunning Hares are properly equipped to deal with, so one (hopefully) convincing story of falling off your bike later, you are diagnosed with a concussion.
Billy’s there for you throughout your entire recovery. He’s done his research to the point where he knows even more about your symptoms and how to deal with them than you do. He keeps his volume low when speaking to you, will dim the lights if you enter a room, and is constantly by your side to keep you from overexerting yourself.
He even tries to cook for you– and gets distracted by an ad for Monica’s show on the TV in the next room over (and also by giving you a light scolding, since screentime isn’t recommended for a concussed person), accidentally letting the pot boil over. But hey, it’s the thought that counts.
The next time the Cunning Hares have to fight Ethereals, you realize you’ve been having a surprisingly easy time. When you entered combat with one, the others that had been approaching were suddenly cut down, so you were never facing multiple at once.
You eventually connect their mysterious deaths with some very convenient gunshots. Not that you’re complaining.
Billy knows you can handle yourself, but he can’t help but make things as easy for you as possible. After all, if he didn’t have your back, what kind of partner would he be?
Nekomata
She’s watching you from the corner of her eye. Not that she’d ever admit it– but it’s easier to focus when she knows you’re completely safe.
An Ethereal takes a swipe at you. Nekomata can’t quite tell from where she’s standing, but after you stumble and regain your balance, she’s pretty sure it missed. She turns her attention back to the rest of the Ethereals, some of whom have broken away from Billy, Anby, and Nicole.
They’re halfway through the group when you rejoin her. You’ve dispatched the one that came after you, but she can now see a gash on the side of your face which was previously out of her view. You don’t look bothered, but the amount of blood on your face almost makes her recoil.
The next opening she gets, she drags you behind a cluster of ether crystals and orders you to stay put. You’re too surprised to object, and before you can open your mouth, she’s gone – too fast for you to get a word in.
Now that you’re not focusing on the fight, you feel something on your face, and oh that’s why she grabbed you.
You do feel completely fine, but blood loss is not something you want to have to deal with right now, and leaving your injury unattended wouldn't do you any favors. Carrying a basic first aid kit when you’re working seems like the best decision you could’ve made today as you do your best to clean your face.
Before you can finish, Nekomata has already grabbed some bandages and gauze. She’s finished bandaging your face in almost a blink of an eye, and wipes off the rest of the blood in an uncharacteristically gentle manner.
She’s fidgety and avoids eye contact as the whole group leaves the Hollow, and eventually offers her shoulder to lean on, if you need it. It’s a sweet gesture, and you tell her so, but really- you feel ok on your own.
(Plus, she’s a little too short.)
She still sticks close to your side, and you catch her glancing at you every few seconds. For once, she isn’t engaged in a friendly squabble with Anby or even chatting with Billy. It’s a little surprising, and the rest of the Hares have definitely caught on.
Eventually Anby breaks the silence. “They’ll be okay, Nekomata. Head injuries look worse than they really are.”
Nekomata’s ears shoot up, and she looks at you, then Anby. “What? I- I wasn’t worried about them! Why would I be?”
She’s quick to turn away, but looking closely, there is a hint of red on her cheeks that suggests she was in fact worried. You won’t press her– she’d just keep denying it.
Still, it’s nice to know she cares more than she lets on.
Please may i perchance have a Zhu Yuan x Male Reade where zhu yuan comes home from a long day of work and wants to relax?
Hello, here you go :)
Zhu Yuan x M!Reader: Coming Home (romantic)
Contains: male reader, sharing a bed but nothing explicit
It’s rare for you to actually see Zhu Yuan when she comes back home. She usually arrives late, having taken overtime yet again. You don’t see her until you wake up the next morning with a protective arm wrapped around you.
(Once, you had tried to embrace her in turn, and she punched you in her sleep. She apologized profusely the next morning when you told her.)
You expected her to be late again today, as she’d mentioned a smuggling operation her team needed to take care of inside a Hollow. So when you hear the front door open almost four full hours before midnight, you’re half expecting the lock to have been picked.
But no– it is indeed Zhu Yuan, entering with a rare slump in her shoulders and her jacket already halfway off, for once looking like she couldn’t wait to be out of her uniform.
You greet her at the door and immediately, she goes to embrace you. For her to relax completely into your arms is a rare occurrence indeed, and it is this which indicates to you that she’s had quite a long day.
Once you separate, she immediately goes to shower, and you take the time to prepare her a cup of tea and some leftovers. Most likely, she hasn’t eaten dinner yet.
Something in her expression keeps you from asking how her day was- maybe what happened was extremely classified, or particularly distressing?
She seems to sense your apprehension. “Don’t worry, nothing really bad happened. I’m just… tired.”
The rest of your night is quiet. Zhu Yuan eats quickly (she had, in fact, forgotten to do so at work) and asks you small questions about your day. She’s mentioned before how she loves listening to your voice, and you are happy to oblige. She doesn’t respond much, but her attention on you is clear from the slight tilt of her head and the way she’ll nod ever so slightly whenever you pause. It’s different from her usual sharp gaze, though– more soft and relaxed.
She goes to sleep early that night, which is to be expected. What you didn’t expect was for her to fall asleep on you while the two of you were cuddling.
Luckily, you were already on your bed, so there was no need to carry her anywhere, but you did rearrange her sleeping body so that you both were underneath the covers and actually lying down.
(And this time, you wake the next morning completely unharmed, with Zhu Yuan still in your arms.)
Requesting Zhu Yuan, Nicole, Lucy with a s/o who curse alot please
Hi and sorry to disappear off the face of the earth again; I’ve been quite busy. Long story short, I forgot about ZZZ and didn’t want to write for characters until I could be certain the story quests hadn’t changed them too much. Good news, I am now completely caught up!
Thank you for your admirable patience and I hope you enjoy :)
Nicole, Zhu Yuan, and Lucy x Reader (separate, romantic)
Contains: gender neutral reader, somehow no actual swearing (unless you count "hell" lmao)
Nicole
She thinks nothing of it at first. She definitely swears from time to time, whether it be due to a particularly dangerous job or another upcoming bill.
When she really starts paying attention to you and your habits, though, she realizes you curse way more than average. It’s actually a little funny. She’ll hear a string of expletives and expect that you’ve tripped, lost a video game, or something equally trivial.
While Nicole takes a more lighthearted approach at first, she later discovers that you curse just as much when it comes to bigger concerns. She learns to take more care, now always checking on your well-being just in case something is really wrong.
Most of the time it’s nothing worrisome, and she’ll just chuckle and give you a kiss on the cheek.
In terms of expletives mixed into normal conversation, she’ll sometimes count how many times you add swear words into otherwise innocuous sentences. Nicole never tells you, but she keeps track of your current record for a single sentence.
She finds it endearing, and would honestly miss it if you stopped.
Zhu Yuan
She’s heard a lot worse.
Granted, she’s used to hearing curses from those she’s tasked to apprehend, so the first few times, she definitely had to do a double take.
Most see Zhu Yuan as a very stern, by-the-books individual. She is, of course, but she’s also a lot more open-minded than expected- which is to say, your language doesn’t faze her.
If you’re in public and she sees small children or elders in the vicinity, sometimes she’ll give you a gentle nudge, or take your hand as a reminder to tone it down a bit.
Over time, to her it became something that was just a part of you. On the rare occasion that something upsets you so much you go quiet instead of turning to colorful language, she learns to be worried.
Lucy
The idea of being able to use any type of language she pleases is a relatively new one that came with her leaving home. She has yet to explore it fully though, speaking in a more formal manner until she realizes it sounds out of place in the Outer Ring.
That being said, cursing does not come naturally to her. She doesn’t mind hearing other people do it, viewing it as a newer and novel experience, but she tends to keep her language relatively clean out of instinct. Meeting you really desensitized her, and she has now grown to expect colorful language every time the two of you meet.
As well as being her wonderful significant other, to her you are a shining example of the freedom one has to do whatever they want outside the complicated rules and expectations of fine society. It was part of why she felt herself so drawn to you in the first place- but of course, she’d never admit it.
After a long time of being together, you start to notice Lucy cursing a little more frequently. She denied it when you first brought up the matter, but her argument died quickly when you pointed out her chosen phrasing:
“Of course you can talk however the hell you want. I’m just saying that’s not how you’d have put it a few months ago.”
With a red face, she sputters out that she’s just been trying some things out, and stalks off. It’s rare to see her flustered like that, so you decide to give her some time to regain her bearings before mentioning it again.
hiya…can you write zhu yuan x fem reader where the reader is super shy and awkward and prone to zoning out during social interactions (if that’s not too specific lol😓) …or just anything zhu yuan please. thank you😚😚😚
Hello there and sorry for disappearing; life has been quite busy as of late. This was an interesting one to write since I do the same thing. I hope it is to your satisfaction!
(Also, I didn't include your username in the screenshot since the first ask was anonymous and I wasn't sure if you wanted it visible)
Zhu Yuan x Reader (romantic)
Contains: fem!reader (referred to as Zhu Yuan's girlfriend)
Honestly, she understands where you’re coming from. Some situations can be tricky to navigate, and it’s easier to just stop paying attention than it is to engage.
But as a Pubsec officer, Zhu Yuan does have to remain attentive when interacting with civilians, so she’s used to it. She’s always paying full attention to her surroundings, so she knows what’s going on the second your eyes glaze over.
Her first course of action in an attempt to bring you back is to take your hand and give it a light squeeze, giving you a grounding point. Should that fail, she wraps an arm around your waist, keeping you close.
The whole time, she is keeping the attention of whomever you chanced to encounter, giving you time and taking away the pressure to respond suddenly when you might have missed half of the conversation.
As soon as Zhu Yuan gets the chance, her first priority is to check on you- you’re her girlfriend, after all. She knows this is a regular occurrence, but better safe than sorry.
She suggests that the two of you have some alone time afterwards, usually at your house or hers. Even if you’re completely fine, it’s a good excuse to spend time together.
Over time, Zhu Yuan can stop worrying as much, but your comfort is always her first priority.
Zhu Yuan x gn reader platonic where the reader likes to crack jokes and can't take anything seriously
Hello, thank you for the request! Here you go :)
Zhu Yuan x Reader (Platonic)
Contains: gender-neutral reader
Zhu Yuan has trouble getting herself in the off-the-clock mindset. She tends to forget she isn’t on duty and will frown at you the first few times, about to scold you about the necessity of a professional mindset.
Before she actually starts, though, she remembers that one: she’s off duty, and two: you’re not even a Pubsec officer.
It takes time for her to loosen up to your constant jokes, but when you do and she finally lets out a chuckle, you can’t help but feel triumphant.
It’s well-known that Zhu Yuan is always working, whether it be her actual shift, staying overtime to finish extra paperwork with the pretense of not having to worry about it later, or occasionally “walking around” (read: unofficially patrolling) in uniform while off-duty. One never knows when something might happen, she claims.
Your efforts to get her to relax are greatly appreciated as you become closer friends. Eventually, she begins texting you even when she doesn’t quite know what she wants to say yet- and when you respond with one of your trademark jokes, she can almost hear your voice speaking the response out loud.
You are a source of comfort to her, but Zhu Yuan definitely knows the importance of when to be serious. She’s well aware that you’re more than a comic relief, and should there ever be a time you are feeling down, she’s the first to reassure you that it’s okay to not be happy all of the time.
Once, she even attempted a pun of her own. It was pretty bad, but the effort alone was enough to make you smile.
Needless to say, the two of you greatly value each other. As time goes by, Zhu Yuan can’t help but realize that when she thinks of what she could lose should she slip up on duty, your smile is one of the first things that comes to mind.
Hello, thank you for the request! Seth is one of my favorites but I also don't know much about his character, so I enjoyed writing this and learning more about him. Sorry it took so long!
Contains: gender neutral reader, could be platonic or romantic
The coffee shop in Lumina Square was a regular stop for you- it was spacious, the coffee was good, and you could stay there to get some work done if necessary.
You sipped your coffee and scrolled through your phone, opening the Knock Knock app. Most posts were of your friends and family, plus the occasional advertisement and Public Security post. In any other society, following the social media account of the local police would seem strange, but with the danger of the Hollows and new (usually illegal) factions popping up almost every other week, keeping up to date with the law enforcement was almost a necessity.
You paused at a group picture of several Pubsec officers, seeing a face you could’ve sworn was familiar to you. A cat Thiren in a Pubsec uniform… you couldn’t place it, but you’d definitely seen him somewhere. Maybe while he was on duty?
You clicked on the post to read the caption and were greeted with: Our newest members of the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team! The post was pretty old, and it listed several names you didn’t recognize, finishing with Seth Lowell.
Seth… Lowell?
Your eyes widened as you realized where you’d heard the name. Your families had been friends, and you and Seth were close until the fall of the old capital and the necessary relocation of both your families- what was left of them, at least. After that, you’d lost contact, and seen no indication that Seth and his family had ended up in New Eridu or even alive.
You opened your photo gallery, scrolling as far back as you could, and found some pictures of the two of you. Luckily, you’d kept them backed up on the cloud before the disaster.
Little Seth and you, each grinning proudly and holding large sticks.
An “action shot” of the both of you fighting. In your imaginations, those sticks had probably been powerful swords.
A blurred shot of you dropping the stick and Seth running to you, with a slight streak of red visible on your face. Most likely taken by accident.
Another shot of the two of you, this time with your arms around each other and a Starlight Knights bandage on your cheek.
The sun was starting to peek out from behind the sheet of clouds, burning them away in what usually signaled the start of mid-morning. You looked up from your phone and your stroll down memory lane. It was time to leave.
You were still a bit distracted as you started to clean up your table, mentally adding “find Seth again” to your to-do list as you went to leave and there was absolutely no way.
White hair, fluffy ears and tail, and a Pubsec uniform. What were the odds?
Oh, well. You could put off leaving for a little longer.
“Excuse me, officer. Seth Lowell, right?” you asked, approaching him and hoping he wasn’t working.
The Thiren turned around, noticing but not recognizing you if his face was any indication. “Hi, that’s me. I’m not on duty at the moment, so if you have a concern that can wait, I’d recommend visiting the station.”
“No, actually, I was hoping you were off duty. We were friends in the past, and I didn’t know where you went after the fall of the old capital, so I wanted to, um…“ You showed him your phone, photo app still open to the pictures from your childhood. “Do you remember me?”
Clearly he did, if the way his eyebrows shot up and his face broke into a smile were any indication. You were suddenly pulled into a tight hug, but before you could reciprocate, he released you just as fast. “Sorry, I’m sorry!” he exclaimed, his tail swishing awkwardly from side to side. “I was looking for you too, but I couldn’t find anything…”
“It’s ok, I’m glad to see you too. Um… do you have to be anywhere soon?” you asked. “If not, maybe we can catch up a bit.” You gestured towards the stairs, which led to an upper level of outdoor seating.
Seth accepted eagerly- he would have offered if you hadn’t beat him to it, and he didn’t have to report to the station for a little while. You grabbed his arm and lightly tugged him along.
“Oh, by the way!” Seth seemed almost brimming with excitement. “Do you remember when we used to play pretend? I always wanted to be the hero, and there was that one time you pretended to be a villain with my brother, but…”
The two of you continued talking into the morning, reminiscing and sharing stories of how you’d changed since your separation. Seth’s dedication was amazing, and seeing him as a Pubsec officer just as he said he’d be all those years ago made you incredibly proud. It felt like time had barely passed before Seth had to leave for work. He didn’t seem that worried, but you encouraged him along, not wanting him to be late on your account. Before you parted ways, you made sure to exchange contact information.
Hmm, hi, if possible you can write a romantic Billy with a Dullahan reader?
Thysm and a good day/ evening/ night!
Hi, thank you for the request. I hope this was okay and that you have an excellent time of day as well!
Billy x Dullahan!Reader
Contains: gender-neutral reader
The first time you met was a bit of a shock for him. Sure, there are all kinds of people in New Eridu, but they usually have their heads attached to their necks.
Most of the people around you are on edge, but the ones you choose to interact with seem to recognize you without hostility.
He’s certainly not one to judge based on appearances, but you scare him a little bit. Not enough for him to scream or flinch away- unlike a certain member of the Cunning Hares.
He really started talking to you when he approaches you to apologize on Nicole’s behalf after one too many chance encounters on the street. You say it’s fine, but your voice sounds as if you’re only too used to it, and Billy can’t find it in himself to be scared of you anymore.
That’s when he asks for your contact information, and you keep in touch afterwards. Behind your appearance, you were a good friend, and eventually, a wonderful significant other.
It’s hard for you to express yourself in the same way a human would, but Billy has come to learn your tells and travels with you when you need to go through New Eridu. With such a laid-back person accompanying you, citizens seem to be less scared of you as you pass by.
He sympathizes with you, as an android with no facial features except eyes. His exaggerated movements and speech compensate for his inability to express himself in exactly the same way a human can.
Billy appreciates that you are always there for him, steadfast and unwavering. Your unique experiences and outlook are a nice contrast to his personality, and you keep him grounded. Likewise, he provides you with a safe space and appreciates every aspect of you- including those that would have others flee in the opposite direction.
Smaller things:
Have you seen the thing where significant others will walk between their partner and the street? He’ll do that, but positioning himself so that your head is between your body and his while walking
Almost always touching you in some way. If he can't hold your hand at the moment, his is on your shoulder, around your waist, or anywhere else he can put it
The first time you initiated contact, he was so happy that you could feel his temperature increase like an overheated cell phone
Reader doing a “trust fall” with Billy in which they say "catch” and lightly toss him their head. At first, he is not amused.
Contains: gender neutral reader, reader is implied to have a job
Anby Demara is inexperienced when it comes to romantic relationships.
Sometimes she worries that she is too cold, too neutral in expression and flat in tone. When you pluck a flower and tuck it behind her ear on one of your many walks in each other’s company, her face does not change to match her pounding heart. She's nothing like the love interests in the romance movies she's started watching (for research purposes), and it takes a few reminders that you fell for her just the way she is before she can stop thinking about it.
She still tries to be like the movies, though- sometimes she’ll see you at a street corner on your way home, greet you as if she hadn’t been waiting there on purpose, and offer to accompany you the rest of the way. Regardless of whether or not you think it’s a coincidence, your commute no longer feels like just a necessary routine. One day, you surprise her by inviting her inside to see a movie she’d been planning to rent from Random Play, and her smile makes you want to do it time after time again.
The possibility of a world without you is one she greatly fears. Now that she’s experienced it, Anby understands why movie characters are willing to risk so much for love.
