To the BBRae and Robstar shippers:
You know, I didnāt get to watch Teen Titans growing up because I didnāt have cable, and thus, wasnāt able to watch Cartoon Network.
The only reason I went and watched it now was because my friends were telling me how TTG was an insult to the original.
And I bingewatchedĀ every season of the show (still need to set up some time during the break to watch the movie)
I think itās important that people know that Iām not blinded by what I saw as a child because I never saw TT as a child. I think most people who are still going at the shipping wars in the TT fandom just arenāt willing to look past what they saw as a child.
Now, as an adult, Iād like to think I can understand the writing with more appreciation that I could as a child.
Bingewatching the show in the better part of a weekend, I never saw any chemistry between Robin and Starfire, nor Beastboy and Raven. Starfireās romance is so one sided itās utterly ridiculous that people ship her with Robin.
The same goes for Raven; sheās always disgusted or annoyed whenever Beastboy is around. The only times they got along were at the end of Spellbound and after Terra sacrificed herself to save them all.
Robin and Raven, on the other hand, had so much potential.Ā Iāve said before how they donāt need to have fluffy romance moments, because as I watched the show, the ship I saw between them was so clear.
So many important character developing moments happen between the two. Season 4 was basically just robrae fanservice.
There are lot of smaller moments that happen between the two, like in Nevermore
Robin tells Beastboy to apologize for getting on Ravenās nerves, then actually respects her wish to be alone (unlike the others. Beastboy, especially).
The two of them being wary of Terra, the fucking mental bond they formed so she could save him from Sladeās hallucination,Ā how she stopped time and out of all her friends, rescued Robin because she knew she could count on him, not to mention Robin teamed up with his mortal enemy and went to hell because he never stopped believing in her for a second.
There was so much potential between the two, none of which I believe for a second was between bbrae and robstar.
So when you start shitting on my posts, stop for a second and realize two things:
1) Iām never going to notĀ ship these two, so donāt waste time trying talking shit
2) bbrae and robstar are canon anyways, so instead of shooting down a bunch of people who didnāt get what they wanted anyways, go be smug somewhere else you sons of bitches.
