Don't go home
"We're wasting our time, can't we go without him?" Tim complained. "I get Lillian wants everyone there but what if he doesn't even want to go?" Before anyone could reply, the woman walked back in the living room. She was quite pretty, had long blonde hair, blue eyes. She was also very pregnant. She seemed way too good for Benny. "I'm just waiting for the water to boil." She explained. "So, what do you want with Benjamin?" "Well, we don't know if the one you know is our brother, do you mind describing him?" Caleb said. The lady thought for a moment. "Lets see... He's a bit on the bigger side I suppose, has brown hair, his teeth are a bit crooked, and his spelling is... mediocre to say the least." She told them. "Yep, that's Benny." Tom sighed in relief. "Benny? That's what you call him? That's cute. What did you want with him anyways? He's at work at the moment, but he should return soon enough." She asked. It's our little sister's birthday. She wanted all of us there, him included." Tom explained. "I see. I never got your name? May I ask what your names are?" She asked. "My name is Caleb. These are my twin brothers Tim and Tom." Caleb said, pointing at his brothers. She nodded. "My name is Violet Ashford. It's a pleasure to meet you." She said. "Is papa home?" A small voice shouted from the hall. A small head poked its head out, revealing a small boy. He looked to be about 4-5 years old. Violet sighed. "Not yet, he'll be home soon." The boy skipped over to a seat, he reminded Tim of Lillian back when they were all only children. "I find it odd I've never heard of you. Any particular reason why he never mentioned you?" Violet asked. Caleb shook his head. "We never really got along as kids, I'm not sure why." "Probably because he was piety piece of shit who cared more about what mother thought than a relationship with his siblings." Tim shouted. It stayed silent for a moment other than the whimpering of the little boy. "I-I'm so sorry." Tim stuttered. "Was he really that bad?" Violet asked quietly. "Not exactly." Tom said. "He just... was distant. Didn't protect us as much as he wanted to." "What do you mean?" "Well, he wanted to do more, to stop our mother from hurting us, but he didn't. Sometimes we forget we're all the victims here." Tom explained, chuckling lightly, trying to defuse the awkwardness. "How's he like with you?" Tim asked Violet. "He's kind, quiet. Honestly it doesn't seem like he'd hurt anyone." She said. "He didn't exactly hurt us, just was so paranoid, I don't even know why." Caleb said. "Ben was probably scared of butterflies." Tim joked. "I love butterflies." The boy yelled. "Leland." Violet sighed. "So sorry about Leland, he's a very social boy." "That's alright, I know a lot of people who are like that." "I'm home." A voiced yelled through the house. It was obvious who it was. Benny walked in the living room, but his smiled faded as soon as he saw the guests. Benny cleared his throat. "Hello." He greeted. "Hi papa!" Leland waved. Benny waved back. "What are you doing here?" He asked. "We'd like to talk to you." Tom told him. Benny sighed. "Must we have to?" He complained. "God forbid you talk to your own family." Tim groaned. "Do you need to talk like that?" He pointed at Leland. "My son is right there." Caleb stood up. "We don't have to make this an argument. Can't we just have a normal conversation like civilized people?" He shouted. "Fine." Benny said. "But make it quick." He sat down. "We got a lot to talk about, don't we?" Benny said. "Yes." Caleb said. "Yes we do." "We really do." Tom added.
