I can’t decide if fourteen year old Cassian leaps onto Kay, scrambles up his limbs while fighting him, shuts him off, disables his capacity for motion, turns him back on and THEN reprograms him;

or Cassian happens upon a droid with corrupted chips and wiring and limbs that have ceased function, nursed him back to ‘health’ during months of sleepless nights he can scrape by between missions, earning the droid’s loyalty in the process;

OR Cassian gets stuck in a shoot out and ends up sorta destroying this droid but he could probably fix it?? and yes, General Draven, it  would be useful to have a KX series droid for infiltration missions, so I’m GOING to fix him, thank you very much, and yes it is a HE #droidrights 

but whichever way I hold on to the headcanon that Kay is actually awake for most of the “reprogramming” (it’s them bickering and debating morality with a lot of statistics talk because Cassian is a math nerd) and Cassian actually, bless his little soul, asks Kay for permission to strip him of the Imperial protocols (it’s still there, dormant, in case he needs to access the information, but any fear sof it taking over Kay’s processors are held back by the fact that Cassian talked a huge murder droid into joining the Alliance and Kay joined “of his own free will”. Cracken was like give this kid the recruitment job immediately. L3 would be proud.)

More Leon sketches! I’m trying to get used to drawing this boy. He’s my first favorite character in the franchise and seeing him in action with Claire brings me back to my middle school years. Resident Evil played such an important role in my teenage years which inspired me to create my own characters.
