i really want to start an added member blog or book but i have no idea where to start 🫩 i see you as the queen of added members bc i’ve followed you for long since before you opened a tumblr blog so i trust you. pls help a girl out even a few tips would help. 💓💓

STOPPP 😭😭😭 "queen of added members" is taking me OUT. first of all, thank you!! that's genuinely so sweet and i'm honoured that you'd ask me 🥹💓

my biggest piece of advice is: don't start with the group. start with your character.

i think a lot of people get caught up in questions like "what position would they have?" or "who would they date?" or "what would their stage name be?" and forget to build an actual person first.

ask yourself:

• what makes her interesting?

• what are her flaws?

• what are her goals?

• what would she be like if she wasn't an idol?

once you know who she is, fitting her into the group becomes SO much easier.

another thing: don't be afraid to make mistakes. i promise you that every added member creator has looked back at old lore and gone "what was i on when writing this 😭"

and my biggest tip? write the story YOU want to read. don't build a character around what you think people will like. the most memorable OCs are usually the ones that feel like real people rather than perfect idols!

so build your character first—their likes and dislikes, where they're from, etc. and once you have that down you can start meshing them into the group with dynamics and stuff.

so for the blog, the first post that'll help you a lottttt is the kprofile. it's literally like the bible for your character. then something small like the member dynamics and so on. but don't start making things for your blog before you have your character!!

when I was busy with my lngshot added member, I was mapping out everything about her on a google doc before even thinking about what to post 😭😭 just really get connected to your character.

and then once you have your character down, you can go all out with your blog and start setting up the theme and figuring out your tags 🙂‍↕️

also, this is your official permission slip to be a little self-indulgent. we're writing fake people into k-pop groups for fun. embrace the chaos 🫡 their doesn't need to be a reason for everything, it doesn't need to be realistic unless that's the theme you're going for.

I’ve been seeing a genuinely disturbing rise in NSFW content being made about CORTIS. yes. CORTIS. teenage boys.

and before anyone even tries it—do NOT come with “well they’re 18 now” you’re not fooling anyone. people didn’t magically develop this interest overnight the second a birthday passed. if anything, that just makes it worse. it shows intent, it shows you were waiting, and that is deeply uncomfortable to witness.

because the second juhoon turned 18 there were smut fics out. and now the same for martin. GENUINELY WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE BRO??

as writers and creators in fandom spaces, especially in one like this where a large portion of both the members and the fandom are minors, there is a responsibility that comes with what you choose to create and share. this isn’t just about preference or “curating your experience.” this is about basic boundaries and respect.

“don’t like, don’t read” DOES NOT APPLY HERE!! that mindset falls apart the second the content itself becomes ethically questionable. and “I’m only posting it because people asked for it” is not an excuse either. you're not being forced. you're making a conscious decision to create and distribute that content.

you, as the writer, always have the final say. and with that comes accountability.

if you want to write about the cortis members, go ahead. no one is stopping you. but there is a clear line, and some of you aren't just crossing it, you’re sprinting past it without a second thought??? these are real people. young people. not characters that exist for you to project onto in whatever way you want.

there is a level of care that needs to exist when you engage with content involving minors or very young idols. and right now, that care is being ignored.

this fandom is meant to be fun, safe, and creative. we’re here to enjoy the music, their personalities, the moments that make us smile. not to turn these boys into something that strips them of their dignity and humanity.

so please, if you genuinely respect them, act like it.

block and report blogs that are producing nsfw content about underage idols. and yes, I am absolutely including anyone under TWENTY (20) in that conversation because even that line feels like it’s being pushed in ways that are uncomfortable.
