My one boring tip to anyone in their 20s is to resist the temptation to rot in your room every time you get a free moment. Dismiss any neuroses you have about going outside and "being perceived". Be a dictator about it, plan your hangouts like they are binding commitments. No excuses! Go to the bar with your friends. Be kinda hungover at work. Socializing is like exercise; even if you don't feel like you want to, you should still do it because it's good for you.

#my general rule of thumb is to have one day to rot in bed after work #and then the other 4 something has to be done! it can even just be going out for a walk #like when I started my first job I would come home every day and just lay in bed and then wondered why I hated everything so bad

I have to explain the stupid lore of my night I need to vent

#went to a going away party for a coworker and it was hosted by a girl who genuinely tried to get me to kill myself im not kidding #she was horrible to me on multiple occasions and sent me down one of the worst mental health spirals of my life #but anyway she was hosted and she invited my boyfriend via text and said we’re both invited #I was like fine whatever I do really like the coworker that’s leaving and I would hate to not get to pay goodbye yk #and I fully planned on being civil with her like what happened between us was 3 years ago now #and I expected her to be civil too!!! cause she’s the host and it’s her house!!!#we get there and she doesn’t say hi or even acknowledge we came in #talks to my boyfriend a few times but never to me #and towards the end of the night it’s only like me her my bf the guys who party it is and two other guys #she keeps telling everyone how she wants to go to the club and who everyone but me and my bf should leave rn and go to the club #but anyway we go inside and I’m pouring a shot for me and my coworker and she is talking to him and goes “I just wish everyone would go”#and he gets fake offended that she means him and she goes you know exactly who I mean #and this was me being petty I got mad at my bf cause while we were heading out she told him to take a box of pizza #and he did and it irrationally made me upset like tell her NOO!!!!! DONT TAKE HER FUCKING PIZZA!!!#she’s rude all night don’t help her clean!!! don’t be kind to her!!!
