Thoughts on RPDR All Stars 4: Episode 7 (Spoilers)

Tonight, the show put the queens to work in another challenge that actually had to do with broader things that’s queens have to do in real life. These acting and comedy challenges are fun, but not all of these queens thrive there the way the do I’m lip syncing and party promoting. Trinity Taylor is funny in a setting like roasting party goers. But not great with a scripted roast like with Lady Bunny. The outcome was pretty obvious so I don’t really have a lot to say here. The moment where Trinity asks Val to essentially choose for her had me cracking up because it was just sooooo tela novella. Let’s just jump in.

These girls had me cracking up! They had so many funny jokes that I will most defiantly turn I to gifs. The club was weird and cooky. But it looked so fun. If these two girls were running this club, or any club, I would walk straight up to them and party with them. They looked so comfortable here. Monets beat has never looked better then tonight. I didn’t love the outfit, but it was nice. Monique’s runway was a mess. But I love both of them.

This one was just boring. The event game was boring. The character Valentina was playing was very undeveloped and it just looked sloppy and frustrated me. The club looked boring and the guests were not having it. I’m really disappointed that Naomi didn’t pull out something a little better. I was most upset by the fact that there was no theme. They had the idea to have a 96 theme where everyone faced away from each other and it could have been a funny avant-garde moment. But they game me nothing. Also I only booted Naomi’s Look because I’ve seen her do better. And I’m okay with Valentina losing because the bitch is about shine in RENT LIVE. Do it justice baby girl.

Thoughts on RPDR All Stars 4: Episode 6 (Spoilers)

The comeback queens episode was a lip-synch extravaganza. The 4 eliminated queens came back for one last time to show how talented they are and to try to earn a spot back into the competition. This episode did not disappoint!! The drama was intense, I live for Latrice feuding with Monique. I love that my babies Manila and Monet were completely safe! And I and so glad that all of these queens came to TURN IT OUT! Here are my honest thoughts

I like Trinity And no matter how she did in the challenge, I knew they weren’t going to send her home to bring back Jasmine, Jasmine is great but she doesn’t have anywhere near the level of drive that trinity is pushing out. However i did enjoy Jasmines lip sync better. Both runways weren’t that spectacular. Trinity looked like and absolute joke walking out in that goofy cape. And the reveal was poorly timed. But we’ve seen that with her before.

Both of you girls really fought to the death for this. I could see the drive and determination in both of their eyes and in their movement. I really thought Farrah was actually going to snatch this one, but Valentina pulled out all of her big dance moves and she PUSHED through that number. I understand why they picked her. But Farrah just looked so stunning. I’m so glad she redeemed herself through this episode.

Thoughts on RPDR All Stars 4: Episode 5 (Spoilers)

Tonight‘s episode had me gagged and gooped. The queens entered the workroom without Latrice! It was so horrible to see my girl Manila crying. I can only imagine. I started the episode hating Monet. She was being very petty and unnecessary. But I will say she redeemed herself! The comedy challenge had its great moments. My least favorite part was that they only showed Stacey Layne Matthews twice. The third act deliberation was as iconic as it’s been all season. And that Lip-sync was one of my favorites. I agree that they both deserved to win. That being said... MANILA HAS WON 3 CHALLENGES IN A ROW! BenDela who? Alaska Who? Also Valentina is over. I really loved her in the past few episodes but this energy just isn’t entertaining anymore. It’s childish. I’m over her. The ending Gag with all of the queens coming back was iconic but expect. Come on Jasmine and Latrice! Do mama proud.

Thoughts on RPDR All Stars 4: Episode 4 (Spoilers)

Tonight episode left me with a lot of thoughts. I really enjoyed The concept of the main challenge, however I do think some queens missed the mark. It wasn’t super iconic, but I got some good laughs out of it. I think the runways really saved some asses tonight. What I want to talk about, is the third act of this show! These deliberations are juicy!!! THIS IS WHAT IVE WAITED FOR! These past two episodes have had absolutely iconic deliberation scenes. With Latrice and Manila crying, Manila saying she would fight to the end in the lip sync for latrices name, Monique floating back-and-forth between who to pick, Valentina pulling a Gia and ranting about the judge that didn’t think she was the Tea. These are what I call STAKES! Trinity fighting for Val, Manila fighting for Latrice. It makes the game SOOO much more worth watching!

Thoughts on RPDR All Stars 4: Episode 3 (Spoilers)

Tonight we had drama, conflama, bafoonary, alliances, the whole 9 yards. RuPaul switched up The iconic snatch game challenge and made it “the snatch game of love.” The benefit of this challenge is that it essentially chose the top two for RuPaul. However you never know which group of girls will work good with one another and who will hurt the contestants. Trinity stepped on Valentina and that put her in the top. However Gia stepped all over Latrice and they both landed in the bottom. The runway had a lot of hit or misses, but there were some great looks. The deliberation was possibly the most entertaining 10 minutes of drag race that I’ve ever watched. I felt Gia’s emotions with her when she opened up about being a trans women doing drag. But I gagged at the absolute drama and fictional story telling of Trinity and Valentina. They were giving a full-fledged in middle school play production and I lived for it. And when Manila asked Valentina for an alliance and she said no. I GAGGED! Also Manila SLAYED that lipsync. Full fantasy.

I think they hyped her up way too much. I definitely laughed at a few parts, but I think she really dragged Valentina’s performance down. Maybe I’ve just seen Sharon Needles do it too many times to really appreciate this one.

Thoughts on RPDR All Stars 4: Episode 2 (Spoilers)

Today’s challenge with an iconic replication of Triple A Girls hit “Heathers.” I cant be too mad tho because legend Stacy Lane Matthews gave amazing sound bites. The girls were asked to write rap (or Sung) verses far a girl group number. Gia Gunn dominated the confessional room and expertly kept the cameras on her at all times. If only she would have taken some of that time to memorize those dance moves. Jk Kimora. Gia threw some lukewarm Tea in Farrah’s face, Farrah tried to act calm and collected, but her performance showed that she was not on the ball.

She really sets the stage for the kind of energy and charismaticness that you need to be a come back queen. I didn’t really like the concept of the song, or that she talked up how she was going to show the world what ru missed when he sent her home before a singing challenge, and then she didn’t even really sing more then a few lines. But overall, I lived for this.

As a theatre kid, I know damn well not to drop anything that could get in my way during a number, throw it on the highlight chair, 4. Start crying after you already off the stage, not when you’re in your ending pose. Season 1 Akasha is somewhere disappointed.

I was not impressed with the first half of this number. But once the beat dropped and she started getting into the more traditional Latin dancing, I was living for her. Dancing is a talent when done right and sister did it right.
