I have been a silent watcher in many witchcraft areas. At times, I've preferred to be a simple fly on the wall, listening and watching. Now, there something I've noticed and I find it disgusting.
This whole idea of gatekeeping/bad mouthing the entities and deities people work with.
I've noticed that in some circles, some people take a great offense if someone worships/works with a being that they too work with. It's almost like these are ancient beings and they want to work with multiple people.
Stop the fucking presses.
Now, I'm going to say something that may blow the minds of some people, two people can worship and work with the same god. Hell, their way of doing so may be completely different.
I've said it before, I mostly work with the Norse pantheon. I'll use Odin as an example.
The way I work with Odin can be completely different than how someone else works with Odin. And I have no qualms with that. If Odin wishes to accept and answer, that's on Odin. Who am I to question him?
But there seems to be this almost holier than thou mentality spreading through some circles where there can be only one follow. And that follow is apparently the fucking messiah for that god.
Here's a hard reality check, you aren't.
Yes, it's nice when a god picks to work with you. But that doesn't make you THE follower of that god. Accept the fact that there will be others.
So, I went on this rant to simply let people know, don't let others dictate who you work with. If working with Zeus has given you peace, then work with Zeus.
If you worship Hekate and she has helped you, I am happy for you.
None of us have room to judge what another practitioner does. So, if you are one of those people, get that stick out of your ass.
