This remarkable line of questioning from Congresswoman Suzan DelBene demonstrates just a few of the ways that the GOP tax plan treats corporations better than people.
Under the Republican plan, corporations are still allowed to deduct state and local taxes. Workers are not. Corporations are still allowed to deduct business expenses. Teachers are not. Corporations are still allowed to deduct more than $10,000 in property taxes. Homeowners are not. Corporations are still allowed to deduct moving expenses. Families are not.
And this is on top of a $1.5 trillion corporate tax cut.
Let’s be clear, this is not a “middle-class tax cut.” Working families get the crumbs and the super-wealthy get everything else.

Tbh tweet with the hashtag #ChairingIsCaring and I’ll follow everyone who tweets with it, I’ve been thinking about this a LOT lately and I wanna see who all agrees
was driving with my girlfriend and spotted a vulture with a broken wing standing on the side of the road. there was an animal hospital nearby with a wildlife unit so we pulled over and picked it up and drove it to tufts. i think its got a good chance at survival and it feels good to have been able to make the call and help an injured wild animal out
the funniest part of this was showing up at the Tufts emergency room with all these average folks with their dogs sitting politely on leashes in the waiting room and us being two very sweaty, disheveled haggy dykes who are bursting in and nearly running up to the desk holding a vulture in nothing but our bare hands and the look of extreme shock and horror on everybody’s face

I’m laughing because I feel like I’m in Victorian England. “SHOW US YOUR ANKLE! SHOW US YOUR ANKLE!”

Well, you know…shit.
why would you pay someone for 26-51 weeks for doing nothing
you have a very, very odd definition of “doing nothing”.
On a scale from zero to American society, how much do you hate women and children
Lmfao all the countries America says treats women badly have more right than America
wth north korea
How tragic, people aren’t paid when they’re not working
>People need money to survive
> It is incredibly difficult to work after you have just given birth and have to care for an infant
> A lack of paid maternity/parental leave causes a massive financial hardship and struggle on new families.
> Families with young children struggling is bad.
> New parents need to receive pay in some form even when they aren’t working for a period of time after birth for the family to not struggle
Like, literally the rest of the world has figured this out. This isn’t hard.
>Without equal leave employers are less likely to hire people who could become pregnant
(But also where did that info come from for North Korea and how do we know if it’s true or not?)
I absolutely agree that equal leave for both parents is important! Fathers deserve to have a relationship with their child, and have an obligation to contribute to childcare.
I’m not sure where that graphic specifically got it’s information, but the information is supported here by North Korea’s state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA)
Also, we DO know what some of their laws look like. The North Korean Labor Law defined women’s rights at work. Articles 14 through 17 stipulated the rights of mothers and pregnant women, including seventy-seven days of maternity leave with full pay, paid baby-feeding breaks during work, a prohibition against overtime or night work for pregnant or nursing women, and the transfer of pregnant women to easier work with equal pay.“
Yooo thank you for your classy reply on visible vs "invisible" disability. (I'm a different anon btw.) My disability is invisible, until it's not (which I recognize comes with some privileges), but I thought your response was really balanced. Thank you!
honestly i hate this whole dichotomy between “visible” and “invisible” disabilities like… like abled people aren’t gonna fuckin devalue us either way?? they’re not going to believe our disability is that bad/push abled supremacy onto us either way like
example: a person very close to me uses a wheelchair, and their old manager at their job always acted as if their wheelchair was a luxury, and told them to move around without it and stuff
another example: autistic people are super likely to receive police brutality because the government refuses to fucking train anybody in what to do when you somebody having a meltdown or god forbid, stimming
like… our disabilities are all different!! and some of us have privilege over each other, 100%!! i have able-bodied privilege for example – but we have a common oppressor and that’s abled people and whilst i understand the needs for different kinds of resources, i think we should stop needlessly dividing our community into “invisible” and “visible” disabilities.
abled people are gonna deny us our basic human rights no matter HOW visible our disabilities are. when “invisible”, because they don’t believe our accessibility needs are real, when “visible”, because they don’t think our accessibility needs are relevant.
on top of that, i really think there are very few truly “invisible” disabilities. my disability is completely visible, but neurotypical people choose to ignore it.
I wish this would stop being relevant.
You didn’t need your heart today, right? Good.

Three cats died after their owners used an anti-inflammatory cream used to treat arthritis. The Food and Drug Administration warns to keep drugs away from pets; a tiny bit can be toxic.
Important for spoonies with cats! Creams with Flurbiprofen are fatal to cats. Brands that use this chemical (Not a complete list): Myoflex Traumeel Capzasin If you have cats, check your pain relieving cream for this, and keep them from ingesting it, please!
