As a huge cartoon nerd I find it really annoying when people claim certain cartoons are way more mature than they actually are (or that they're secretly intended for adults) because they themselves are too embarrassed to like something targeted towards children.

Its okay to like a kids cartoon or something that majorly appeals to kids without saying how dark and complex they actually are to seem mature which ironically comes across as way more insecure and childish.

I sincerely love the first Care Bears movie and could talk about how it has witchcraft and scenes that are scary for kids but Im not going to because Im not ashamed of liking it. A LOT of kids movies/shows have dark themes, there needs to be conflict after all. Its also insulting to children to insinuate that they're incapable of grasping darker themes.
