would anybody like to see my pens???
Y'know, if a formerly well-behaved straight A student suddenly starts almost not passing their classes and crying all the time and getting into trouble, maybe the default conclusion from every authority figure should not be that they are lazy and simply need to pull themselves together. Maybe instead you should give them stimulants or HRT or let them kill their parents and see if one of those three things resolves the issue.
my favorite word in any language I know is without a doubt "uafásach" like not only is it something I mutter under my breath 76 times a day, its one of those words that just sounds exactly right. like that word means exactly what it sounds like it should mean
I like this a lot.

Nobody’s Study Techniques for Kinesthetic Learners!
Red Pen, Blue Pen, One Pen, Two Pen: Make a list of the facts you remember in black pen, then look at your notes and write down all the facts in red pen that you forgot.
Flashcards: Use flashcards to study definitions and concepts.
Mind Maps: Use mind maps to plot out concepts. Great for timelines.
Get up and move: Recite the material while walking around or bouncing a ball.
Speed matching: Lay out definitions, descriptions, pictures, etc and try to match them to the corresponding item.
Study group: Meet up with someone(s) and teach each other the material.
Do Practise Problems: Practise what you’ve learnt!
Reread your notes: Refresh your memory.
Specialty Idea! Box it out: Make flashcards and tape them on a surface you can punch. Alternate punching the notecard, and when you hit it recite all the information on the subject you can! Don’t forget to bounce, dodge and punch more while reciting!

People learning multiple languages will be like “I’m sorry I’m not fluent I’ve been learning this for months but my level is that of a six year old”
My brother in Christ how long do you think it took the six year old
Ok I'm going to redo that linguistics poll that I accidentally only made last a day
Choose a major field of linguistics
Phonetics + Phonology (the study of language sounds)
Morphology + Syntax ("grammar")
Semantics (the study of meaning)
Generative Grammar (complex sentence analysis as per Chomsky)
Historical + Comparative (language evolution, related languages etc)
Theoretical + Applied (philosophy of language, meta linguistics)
Neurolinguistics (the brain processes of language)
Lexicology + Lexicography (word formation + dictionary writing)
Computational (language algorithms)
Developmental + Didactics (language acquisition)
Weird German words that are equally as weird in Swedish, #1
Since I’m a native German who’s currently learning Swedish, I noticed that Swedish shares some of our weird German words.
The first example is the word for turtle
The German word for this is ‘Schildkröte’, the Swedish word is ‘sköldpadda’.
Both of these literally mean ‘shield toad’.
