I use Em dashes all the time in my writing and always have. Itâs a super common writing style, especially with fanfic authors. Whenever im accused of using AI im always just ???? I use the same writing style that AI stole from to learn how to write and this is my fault???

oh and the high school was English-speaking. so classes in English. also i was taking Chinese as a subject because why not add a tonal language to the mix
now iâm in university. in an English-speaking country
so my internal monologue is basically four languages in a trenchcoat trying to pass as a normal person, and none of them feel like a default home language except maybe Latin???

Well yeah it might be true that AI can't help someone cheat their ENTIRE way through med school, but I don't think you can deny that a doctor who passed all his tests by reading AI summaries is objectively worse prepared than a doctor who passed them by actually studying the material
Yes, but if any med student is able to pass all their tests armed with a level of understanding of the material developed from reading AI summaries instead of studying the material, then that's a clear indication that those exams are not exactly testing for any meaningful measure of actual preparation or understanding of the material, which would mean that the institution administering such tests was already letting unprepared students graduate regardless of how much AI they did or didn't use.

which is what tag wrangles at Archive Of Our Own do incredibly effectively: searching for "omegaverse" also leads to "alpha/beta/omega dynamics" and "alternate universe: a/b/o" and so on. but ao3 achieves this frankly incredible categorisation and indexing system by the power of countless volunteers putting in hours and hours of unpaid and unthanked free time, and it's completely understandable that most archives do not have that kind of infrastructure, but also how incredible that a fan-run website has better searchability, classification, and accessibility than the library of congress

trove (which is an archive that collates library records/archives from all over australia and is run by the national library of australia) has a program called voluntrove where thousands of volunteers help transcribe, tag, annotate, etc the records on it! you can check it out here

my general opinion on what people should be "allowed" to portray and what topics they should be "allowed" to explore in fiction is that you can make whatever art with whatever themes you want but i'm also allowed to think the way you handled it was tasteless and should've been done differently. my negative opinion on your handling of sensitive topics is the price of admission for publicly showcasing your work. this is not a pro-censorship stance because i am not The Government
this is getting really popular so iâd like to add the important caveat that your criticism of a work is no more unassailable than the work itself. just as one is entitled to be critical of something someone else is entitled to disagree with that criticism. i add this because some of you pretend to give a fuck about thoughtful analysis and then when someone points out flaws in your argument you declare that all criticisms are valid. this is untrue. the status of a hater is no more sacred than that of a liker. get off your high horse and engage in the thoughtful discussion you pretend to believe in or perish by my blade
19.05.26 đ officially done with half of my master's thesis! this week i'm taking a break from everything. things are moving very quickly right now, i will be done with my thesis sooner than expected, i've handed in my first job application and summer is coming. i'm still feeling fairly calm about it all but i really need this break to catch my breath! âĄâĄâĄ
