So there's two species of sea lion in North America: the California sea lion, ranging along California (including Baja) but not ranging into the north coast or into oregon

And the Stellar's sea lion, which are WAY bigger and live in Washington, British Columbia, and Alaska

A male Stellars sea lion showed up in SF like a month ago and just kinda. Didn't know what to do, and joined a colony of California sea lions, and is just kinda chilling there now.

I love the conversation among the Seekers before leaving because it really does put into perspective the concept that this is a cohesive party, which is only true on one level. They have gotten along fine overall thus far, but only to an extent, and I have found that there's a lot of difficulty in fandom spaces recognizing that the reason people work together (in fiction, but even in real life) is not inherently because they like or agree with each other, but because they currently share a common goal, and this does not make them inherently friends, nor would they overall consider all of their companions to be their friends. To put it plainly, they're essentially coworkers.

This also makes sense for each of the characters involved; all of them are a part of organizations that have some specific aims that could unite a number of people who otherwise don't agree on much. We've seen in the past few episodes the way nobility and title are concepts that have eroded in the Barrowguard due to the guard's higher purpose, but still hold enough sway to create conflict, as well as the disagreements that can arise both among differing druidic Circles and occasionally within them, when personal feelings become at odds with the circle's aims. We already know that there are a wide spread of opinions and backgrounds at the Penteveral, where Occtis has trained, but even within his house, he still has some hope that not everyone is fully on board with his immediate family's plans. We know very little about the Sisters of Sylandri in the modern time, but given that their order has shifted massively in what is, for them, living memory and quite recent history, relatively, it is immensely hard to believe that they do not share some of the same internal conflict as these other organizations. All of our Seekers come from places of living within and as such navigating the bounds of institutions founded on principles that may propose guidance in some areas but not others.

As our good Dame Seremai put it, the Seekers give the sense of being "moments away from tearing at each other's throats, rightfully so", but they have rallied together to continue. It will remain to be seen what happens to the group if or when their reasons for continuing have been settled, but in the meantime, there's a lot of excellent ground to be trodden in terms of their interpersonal dynamics and clashing principles, and now that a lot of that is out in the open, it'll be fun to see how they continue to discuss these conflicts knowing that, for the time being, they are stuck with each other. None of them seem (at least at this point, now that Occtis's anxiety response has alleviated) to be the kind to shy away from conflict, and I'm looking forward to seeing how that interpersonal conflict develops as they become more assured in the trust that all of them are invested, for now, in each other's physical well-being.
