In most other media I've seen or am aware of, Pontius Pilate is a stereotypical older male Roman. He's serious and manly.
Sometimes he's a militaristic chad (A BBC documentary???)
Maybe there's room to feel sorry for him (Jesus of Nazareth, 1977)
Sometimes he comes off as a little scary (Ben-Hur, 1959)
Sometimes he is just some dude (The Passion of the Christ, 2004)
Usually he's older and more mature (Risen, 2016)
How The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints portrays him:
A quasi-neutral observer (The Lamb of God, 1992)
His one shot and one line in The Testaments (2000) *pacing* 'Art thou a king, then?' Trying to determine if Jesus is a threat, aka doing his job
The Bible Videos (2010s): Obviously a Roman™
And now we get Pontius Pilate in The Chosen (2018-ongoing)
and he's an absolute TWINK
LOOK AT HIM
An absolute soy boy!
And the worst part is...I'm digging it 😁

extremely cute movie I just watched featuring the marriage of convenience trope: Ida regénye (2022)
thanks to you I watched this movie thank you sm!!! Could you please recommend any other movies with such trope it’s my favorite
I haven't seen many! Otherwise Ida regenye wouldn't have stood out so well. The only one that immediately comes to mind is The Making of A Lady (2012), which is a good movie but significantly darker than Ida regengye.
thank you!!! added to my “arranged marriage” list of films ;) I also heard of “the pallisers” and “the quiet man” but I need moooore
