He's watching a re-run of some masterchef season when Donghyuck came back from dance class, his eyebags prominent even from where Mark was laying on the couch. This week was definitely taking a toll on Donghyuck and he mentally made a note to buy hyuck some really fancy dinner when his tournament is over.
Mark is thinking about all the different places he could take Donghyuck to and is estimating how much he has to save for it when Donghyuck falls onto the couch. quite unceremoniously too.
‘Your sushi is on the kitchen counter,’ Donghyuck says, or that's what Mark hears at least.
‘What? my what?’ he asks, confusion at the sudden mention of sushi bleeding heavily into his words.
‘Hmm, you said you were craving it. got it,’ Donghyuck replies as if he didn't just flip Mark's whole world around. As if he hadn't driven an extra hour after his classes and dance practice that ran 8 hours in total, to get Mark a sushi that he had only mentioned once in a conversation 4 whole days ago.
It hits him like a train wreck would. Why he wanted Donghyuck to walk home with him, why he never liked when Donghyuck talked about that one senior of his, why he always checked whether Donghyuck had posted on instagram after they hung out.
Oh god, he liked Donghyuck.
The sudden comprehension of his own emotions and the sheer amount he felt had him dizzy.
‘Mel?,’ it's barely a whisper and it's so soft that Mark feels like dying.
‘Yeah, I'm okay hyuck, get some sleep. We’ll eat after you nap,’ he says and hears Donghyuck hum in response.
Mark watches Donghyuck sleep, his almost default smirk absent from his face and he feels like his heart inflates and then explodes in his chest. The residue of his feelings coating his organs in a way that had him feeling gross.
Ahh and now he owes Jaemin.
