SLAM magazine asked me if I wanted to take a trip to West Virginia to shoot McDonald’s All American basketball player Miles Bridges, and of course I jumped on the opportunity. Miles Bridges is a Senior at St. Joseph Central Catholic High School and plays for Huntington Prep, but he will be taking his skills to Michigan State in the fall. This team might sound familiar to some: Andrew Wiggins of the Minnesota Timberwolves played there as well.
I got up early the day of the shoot to scout some locations for Miles. Todd Meadows of Huntington Prep was nice enough to show me around town for a few hours that morning which enabled me to gather a plan for the day. Todd was an enormous help. Huntington Prep is lucky to have someone who cares so deeply about the young athletes. I can’t thank him enough for all the support he provided me… You are the best, Sir.
We started in the Gymnasium with some action shots of miles, created some portraits on the court and then hit the locker room. Miles had study hall for an hour in the early evening so we took a break for a while so he could eat and take care of his schoolwork. We polished off the shoot by heading across town to a recreation center where Miles has spent a lot of time honing his skills with Coach Arkell Bruce.
Miles Bridges is a terrific kid, and obviously, wildly talented. It was an honor to capture him for SLAM magazine. Good luck at Michigan State Miles. I’ll be sure to follow you on your way. #FanForLife

Coast Guard Boot Camp - Composite Photo
I’m working on a series of images for the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center in Cape May, New Jersey; home of Coast Guard Boot Camp. I thought I would start with an image of the Company Commanders who are the people responsible for training the recruits. I thought something dramatic that could portray the intense atmosphere of Boot Camp would be appropriate.
