✩ HERA :
@rbelhope | plotted starter
Hera Syndulla had been tasked with plenty of missions during her time in the Rebellion — whether they be supply runs, deliveries, or even rescue jobs — but never once had she been asked to escort a princess. Frankly, she’d felt a little silly as she changed into the formal outfit she’d been given after meeting with her contact on Garel, but she’d grown accustomed to disguising herself and her appearance over the years. Back then, she’d spent her time traversing various planets in various systems in search of information to found a rebellion and she’d had to mask her identity on more than one occasion. Besides, it’s not like this was the strangest ensemble she’d ever worn. Upon donning her cloak and headdress, the Twi’Lek made her way into Garel City to rendezvous with Princess Leia Organa.
A “ humanitarian mission ” was the reason for this meet-up — so she’d been told — though it seemed that Leia had meant the phrase quite literally. The princess had, indeed, come to the planet of Garel with the intent of helping its people in whatever ways she could. Though she’d kept up her political visage, swearing allegiance to the Rebels only in secret, the princess had offered insurmountable assistance to their cause and it would have been foolish to turn down her request for aid — even if it had been a simple one: intercept a shipment of rations and deliver it to the slums… without giving away the princess’ allegiances.
“ Are you sure this is going to work? ” The Twi’lek whispered, moving to stand beside the woman now. She was unsure as to how they were going to keep up appearances as well as filch a speeder’s worth of rations. No matter how many times she’d gone over the plan in her head, she couldn’t quite picture success…
THIS WAS EXACTLY WHAT SHE'D BEEN ASKING FOR ------------- more responsibility. More missions. Her father had been hesitant at first, worried if her having to partition herself into a third piece would end up stretching her too thin. But already having proven herself with a few HIGHER PROFILE missions for the Alliance meant she could do with a bit more of a challenge.
And if she could operate both in the shadows as well as FACE VALUE; even better. Her time here on Garel was limited, but she was more than prepared to make the most out of it. Now if both parts could go smoothly, it would be a win on several counts.
Which is what she had to keep reminding herself when her Twi'lek co - conspirator voiced ( well, whispered ) the same concern that kept nagging away in the back of Leia's mind.
"If no one gets too NOSY we should be alright." The fact that the holonet hadn't heard about her latest visit was promising ------------- the last time she'd been interviewed about what she was WEARING while trying to comfort a baby Wookiee hadn't done much to put anything but a BITTER taste in her mouth about the added publicity. "And I'm not above invoking my title as a Senator." Even if she clashed with most of the electorate. Even if simply being in the same CITY as the Emperor made her skin crawl. If being the Princess of Alderaan was deemed too far out of her ROYAL JURISDICTION, she had another card to play.
"Your local contact -------- what time did they say they'd be coming?
OKAY LISTEN UP MY FAVORITE PARTS OF TITMOUSE’S ANIMATION FOR GALAXY OF ADVENTURES ARE THE FUNNY ONES BECAUSE THEY ARE AN ABSOLUTE SCREAM AND SO MUCH FUN. ✩ PETER :
HE’S SURROUNDED BY everything he hates. it’s in the air ; it’s in his lungs. it’s in his glance that’s blurred by tears of loss. in the moment the boots of the star-lord drag through blood stained grounds of a planet lost, he hates everything, because all he sees is his failure. his incapability to be on time to save innocents. this is not a battlefield. on a battlefield there’s a clash, fight, however these people were PEACEFUL. they were simply led to their slaughter without resistance & Peter Quill was not swift enough to stop it. he makes it look so easy being who he is as if all there is to it is the flashy smiles & the accurate shots coming from his blasters, dancing through danger & succeeding.
what he is is a man of WAR. war is under his nail beds. it runs its course through him to kill him behind the smoke of fires that are dying about him. there are dead people everywhere & he feels no different than them. the children. the children ! his heart breaks & BURNS. ; it becomes a supernova & explodes.
he can barely stand on his two feet without falling on his knees. how is he supposed to carry this on his shoulders ? how will he ever go to sleep again ? he will have to get it together because he has to & he was burdened with this fate although he thinks it was a choice. indeed, he made the choice to be star-lord. he wanted it, but it was the plan of the fates all along. & to be a giver of miracles, he has to feel his veins become flames, be consumed in the darkness of his own & be reborn.
it’s then he finally sees a figure in the distance. he does not bother arming himself because it’s clear that the troops already accomplished what they wanted & left a long time ago. he has to gulp before he can speak because his throat burns too, like his entire existence. ❛ hello ? ❜

SHE JUST REMEMBERS RUNNING. From the moment the ship had touched back down on Alderaan's soil, she'd been on the move, Captain Antilles calling after her to SLOW DOWN. They'd turned around as soon as they'd gotten the distress call, lightspeed for the first time in her life feeling more like a slow crawl.
THANOS ---------------- what could he have wanted with them? What could he possibly have gained from them?
They were a peaceful planet --------------- NO WEAPONS SYSTEM, no manner of self - defense, no way to put a stop to the ONSLAUGHT that was coming to Alderaan. Alderaan ------------ a jewel of the CORE WORLDS, a planet of prosperity and beauty, mountains and lakes ------------ and now nothing. No one. The spaceport empty save for the recently landed TANTIVE, the palace silent save for the echos of her footfalls on the synthstone. Her mother, her father, everyone ---------- GONE. Her steps are painfully slow now, the adrenaline pushing her from room to room spent. And this slower pace is more than enough for all those WHAT IF's to creep on in; more than enough time for her to REGRET asking to leave on this mission and leaving her parent's behind. If only she had stayed. If only she was there with them and not aboard her family's ship instead...
How?
AND SHE'S RUNNING AGAIN. One last try, out of the palace and back into the city proper, hoping somehow she isn't alone, that she's somehow missed signs of life ------------ until a voice finds a way to cut through the SMOKE AND ASH.
"Who's there?" Unfamiliar, unsure. It's not the voice she's hoping to hear. Her mother, her father ------------- it's neither. It's NO ONE. A figure that she knows it's UNWISE to approach all things considered, but if they've already seen her first, there doesn't seem much of a point of running away. ( Run to where? Run to whom? Her options are limited. )
"Who are you? What happened here?"
✩ AHSOKA :
@rbelhope from {x}
Master Tano.
She wonders if Bail had told Leia the appropriate title– after all, when they’d met, he’d still referred to her as Padawan Tano, Commander Tano. And now–
Well…she supposes it’s fitting.
Ahsoka had been so young when she’d learned these lessons. They came innately to her now, just as breathing does. She remembers only being told to clear her mind, to focus.
She’s quickly learning that won’t quite work here.
“What do you think of when you think of peace? Of calm? What first comes to mind? Where do you go?”
SHE WANTS TO IMPRESS. She always does. Whether it's preparing herself to follow in her mother's footsteps, or shadow her father as his aide -------------------- and now a third opportunity to prove herself, and one she never would have thought POSSIBLE.
Of course, all that thinking doesn't do her all that much good when the instruction is blatantly to NOT. ( And she's sure the way her mind is RACING to answer the question adequately is doing the opposite too. )
"The lake around Aldera. I can see it from my bedroom. It's like a mirror it's so calm." Which is why she always liked tossing stones into it when she had been younger, listening for that PLUNK !! and watching the ripples flow out.
“But if I always wanted to DISTURB it ------ how can that be helpful?”

✩ LUKE :
He was glad. That was the one good thing that had come of this– when Luke insisted that he wasn’t like Vader, Leia didn’t blink an eye. She said she knew. She knew. That was important, and it was good to hear– it helped. No matter how much he doubted himself, feared what may have happened, what he might become, what Vader wanted him to become, Leia never doubted. And he appreciated that, more than anything else.
“That’s what he told me, back on Tatooine,” He wanted to say it was before all of this, but it wasn’t.. it was right when it began, when the droids fell into his lap. “Before that, my Uncle only ever told me that he was a navigator on a spice freighter…” But that wasn’t true either. If what Vader had said was true, not only had Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru been lying to him all his life, but Ben Kenobi had too. “But Ben said he was a Jedi, that he was betrayed and killed by another Jedi– Vader…”
He was afraid to say too much more than that for fear he might give away his secret… his secret… he’d never thought himself to have a secret, certainly not from Leia, but now…
He was glad for the EmDee droid’s twittering now, it kept him from having to go on. He took a deep breath and gave her his best – very poor– approximation of a smile.
“You don’t have to go.” He added. No matter what the EmDee droid said… he didn’t want to be alone with these thoughts– not yet.
And with Han… captured, maybe Leia didn’t need to be alone right now either.
HOW CONFUSING IT MUST ALL BE ------------------- all these contradictions, supposed lies told on top of lies for all those years. What was he supposed to believe? WHO was he supposed to believe? Leia wanted to believe that what his Uncle told him was out of an abundance of caution on Luke's part --------- with the Jedi being SNUFFED OUT by the majority of accounts. ( That had to have been the reason, hadn't it? She certainly couldn’t condone their lying to him growing up ---- ) But hearing how glowingly Luke spoke of General Kenobi, even with their time actually being together so fleeting, it was clear to see that in a very short amount of time Luke had found in the old man a MENTOR and a GATEWAY to his past.
And now to have it twisted by VADER --------------- the hand that did the deed himself...
"And the one who LIVES TO TELL gets to make history in the image he likes. Convenient."
There was something more to this --------- something Luke wasn't saying or something Luke didn't know himself just yet. But she could feel it in the pit of her stomach, in the way it would TWIST every time Luke said his name that just didn't sit right with her.
"I'll stay. I'm not going anywhere." He's trying to smile and she tries to match, but it doesn't feel like either one of them is all that SUCCESSFUL. ( Another time it would be easy to do again. Hopefully sometime SOON. ) "Em Dee will have to drag me out. But get some rest, alright? You've earned it."
And she had enough reports to tackle to keep her there through his nap and beyond. "I'll be right here when you wake up."
My ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes. Even between the land and the ship.
