violeta, noticing the stranger beginning to speak, tugged her headphone out in mild disinterest. she wasn't normally one to engage in random conversation, but studying was becoming less and less appealing. "are you talking about the quote unquote animal attacks, or are you one of those mystic falls is cursed truthers?" they were mostly clueless people ranting online, completely unaware that there was a supernatural element to mystic falls. violeta knew it existed just as much as she knew her own magic did. at the coffee comment, she rolled her eyes. "yeah, well, if you want good coffee, you should move to seattle or something."

"Honestly everything going on? It feels like one giant lump of weird," she said with a soft sigh, wondering what she had gotten herself into. She had simply wanted to settle down and enjoy her remaining time before she voluntarily left this earth but right now she was really starting to second guess her decision. "Okay but Seattle doesn't have the excitement of this small town for some reason"

"i've heard you get desensitized to the coffee at a certain point. soon, you won't remember what good coffee tastes like." born and raised in mystic falls, it wasn't like vanessa knew anything else. she'd heard her mother complain before, but gabriela drank it all the same. "as for the big things, well," she rolled her head from one side to the other. "i suppose you get used to those as well."

"I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to coffee so I kind of have high expectations - not really this place's fault I guess," she explained with a small chuckle. "By big things what do you mean exactly? I'm still learning about the town"

"i'm afraid i can't say much about mystic falls overall," nora leaned forward, "but i can tell you the coffee is bad here. there's better down the street. the pastries are good here, though. do you like chocolate croissants?"

"I love croissants," she gasped, "honestly I love food in general which is funny considering, yknow," the vampirism. "Want to join? I'll buy us a few to share"

"oh, you don't much about mystic falls at all, do you?" lettie asked. it was hard to not feel resentful. some got immortality without being forced to desiccate for centuries. "it was october 1864. the founding families got together and trapped all of us vampires in town. stuck us in fell's tomb to desiccate for eternity. we only got out recently. you really never heard about that? i would've thought you had considerin' you're... well..." like lettie. a vampire.

"I heard rumors but thought it was just that," she admitted, shocked at how evil hunters could be. Vampires, for as long as she remembered, had been called evil and devilish but sometimes the hunters put her kind to shame with their cruelty. "Jesus, why am I not surprised humans are literally the worst at times"

" Count one, guilty !" She presented her wrists to Azaela as if she waited to be handcuffed. " Are you sure ? I could introduce you ! " April was not afraid to throw the other woman at any random handsome single in town. " It'll be my mission. I have nothing better to do anyway !" It was way more exciting than homework or the chores that awaited her back home.

"You're willing to do this for a practical stranger?" she asked with a small chuckle, not used to someone being nice simply because they wanted to - or was there some dark secret desire that this girl had? Either way she was amused, which wasn't hard to do per say but still. "Alright, alright, I'll let you have your little mission" she snorted

"Wait, really? My best friend Scott works for a vet." Stiles said and then shrugged. "I mean, obviously there are some things fiction probably got wrong, but in every vampire myth they consistently drink blood. Combine that with the fact this town has a weird history with the supernatural? It's like my dad always says: one's an incident, two's a coincidence, three's a pattern. You go back far enough in the newspapers there's a pattern alright--dating all the way back to 1864. No way it's a mountain lion." there was a beat. "You think I'm certifiable, huh?"

"Go figure," she said, getting slight whiplash at how fast this kid shifted back onto the vampire thing. "So you're saying because there's unexplained bloodloss it has to be vampires?" she asked, tilting her head - impressed by this kid's reasoning but worried about his social life all at the same time. "Certifiable to be locked up," she teased, "I hate to break it to you but vampires aren't real"

"Surprisingly when I was turned, it was really the first true act of kindness anyone had done for me"

"Oh they're amazing, they're my best friend and without them I would've never experienced the world changing the way I have. I'm eternally grateful and loyal"

"It's what got me killed so any semblance of love towards of it ended the night I died"

Carnival's were her bread and butter. The food, the ambiance, the rides something about it was just relaxing to her despite the sounds of chaos surrounding her. Though, there was an underlying feeling of nerves that grew as if she was anticipating something happening. "Fried butter, seriously?" she said with furrowed brows as her attention turned to the fair sign. "That's a joke... Right?"

"yeah, of course." maybe her head bobbed a little too fast, her tone a little too bright. it was all elena had, and she was clinging to her determination that they were going to somehow get ahead of katherine and the new mess they had somehow fallen into. at the question, her smile flickered. " there's a lot going on in mystic falls. you may need to be more specific than that. my family tragedy was last summer, actually." the half joke fell flat.

She answered fast - too fast for Azalea's liking but who was she to push a stranger into spilling their guts? Sure she could try to compel them but she didn't really care enough to get into it. "Oh wonderful so family tragedies are a saga here," she breathed, wondering what she had gotten herself into

"new to this time, perhaps, but not new." lettie spoke more openly than she would have normally. if the woman wasn't a vampire, she could be compelled to forget any oddities of the conversation. lettie, however, didn't feel that would be necessary. there was something old about the stranger, something powerful. "you were not in the tomb with us."

She furrowed her brow - wondering what the other was going on about. A tomb? New to this time? "You weren't trapped somewhere, were you?" she questioned, gathering enough information to put a rough sketch together
