A note on studyblr culture and the obsession with aesthetic note taking
The emergence of studyblr culture has also led to our obsession with aesthetically pleasing notes. Whilst typical studyblr photos are of course nice to look at and a model most of us aspire to achieve, it is important to remember they are not everything. If your motive in notetaking is to achieve pretty notes, then your energy is diverted away from absorbing information in an effective way and towards the creative process. Ultimately this reduces the effectiveness and your ability to absorb information properly because you’re not really paying attention to the content. Whilst it is important that your notes are legible and comprehensible, the primary motive should be to engage with the content.
