i don't pay attention to the world ending. it has ended for me many times and began again in the morning.

it's been long enough that we need a new Weird Al Yankovic album, I wanna hear a polka medley where weird al says the words wet ass pussy followed by a cat meowing sound effect and someone playing the spoons

Folks have got to understand that they probably aren't messed up by some Secret Big Trauma that they just can't remember; but rather by a million tiny microtraumas that they do mostly remember but don't even register as traumatic because nobody actually understood that these things would cause trauma, much less stack on each other over the years.
Whether you're carrying one big rock or a big ol' bucket of sand, it's going to weigh on you just as much.
I also would like people to give more appreciation to the great thematic unity in all of The Lord of the Rings. The idea is âdo what good you can with what you are given.â Usually your abilities and your chances seem horribly small, even though your responsibility is so enormous. The minutes, the little decisions, the days, the small towns, the small characters, matter the most. The fate of the whole big world of good and evil and languages and races and heroes and villains all hangs on whatâs done by a little scholar and his gardener.

idk if this is an unpopular opinion at this point but i am so not into the memeification of donald trump post-presidency and the making of him into this intensely funny man. âhe shouldnât have gone into politics, he should have been a guest judge on rupaulâs drag race!â ok????? the man is a rapist. this odious man is responsible for inflicting so much violence on so many people, and thatâs not some wild exaggeration. any time there is a small part of me that wants to concede that a catty comment he made was funny, i just think of what both his presidency and his own direct personal actions have done to women and undocumented people (to name just two vulnerable groups of people), and that small part of me that wants to laugh at donald trumpâs âââfunnyâââ comment dies. and itâs not even like the tiktoks and internet comments making him into some comedian are punching up, so to speak - theyâre giving him attention and validation that i honestly think heâs thriving from.
people talk about how awful the post-bush presidency âââredemption arcâââ was, with people depicting GWB as some kooky, benignly stupid old man who likes to paint. and i just think, have people learned nothing from that whole shit show? i refuse to even inadvertently soften the image of these evil, evil men who have inflicted such harm upon the world.

I need everyone to know that the ship Götheborg, the world's largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship, answered a distress call the other day.
Imagine waiting for the coast guard or whatever to show up and instead a replica of 18th century merchant ship pulls up and tows you to the coast.
pov: youâve been transported to the 17th century
#in the article it says that the sailboat sailors were concerned because they could not be towed quickly because of the kind of boat#so they asked Götheborg what type of ship they were and warned that they would not be able to go above a certain speed#and götheborg went ' we are also a sailboat. 50 meters length. no worries :) '#and the poor sailboat sailors were just like ' That's not possible. they have to be messing with us' and then the ship Rolled Up (via bunjywunjy)
I'm crying. Here's a photo of a sailor from the Götheborg watching over the little sailboat in tow:
From the story:
We repeatedly emphasized that we were aboard a small 8-meter sailboat, but the response was the same each time: "We are a 50-meter three-masted sailboat, and we offer our assistance in towing you to Paimpol." We were perplexed by the size difference between our two boats, as we feared being towed by a boat that was too large and at too fast a speed that could damage our boat. The arrival of the Götheborg on the scene was rapid and surprising, as we did not expect to see a merchant ship from the East India Company of the XVIII century. This moment was very strange, and we wondered if we were dreaming. Where were we? What time period was it? The Götheborg approached very close to us to throw the line and pass a large rope. The mooring went well, and our destinies were linked for very long hours, during which we shared the same radio frequency to communicate with each other. The crew of the Götheborg showed great professionalism and kindness towards us. They adapted their speed to the size of our boat and the weather conditions. We felt accompanied by very professional sailors. Every hour, the officer on duty of the Götheborg called us to ensure everything was going well.[...] This adventure, very real, was an incredible experience for us. We were extremely lucky to cross paths with the Götheborg by chance and especially to meet such a caring crew. Dear commander and crew of the Götheborg, your kindness, and generosity have shown that your ship is much more than just a boat. It embodies the noblest values of the sea, and we are honored to have had the chance to cross your path and benefit from your help.
"Our destinies were linked for very long hours" is just knocking me out.
Sometimes the autism thing isnât being oblivious to when someone is hinting at something but instead being unsure of whether the thing you think theyâre hinting at is actually something theyâre hinting at or if youâre reading into it too much so you just ignore it anyway because you donât want to be wrong
