This week I got the most amazing book mail from Juniper Books. Juniper Books is a book shop that makes custom book collections, like the ones you see here. They have so many incredibly beautiful things I’d say that what they do is more of a work of art than simply selling books. I’ve been in love with their Harry Potter House Collection for a long time now, but when I first learned about them I had just bought my hardcover trunk set, so I found it hard at the time to justify purchasing yet another one, not to mention the lack of room for it.

Fellow Bostonian/MA Book Lovers and Bloggers

If you don’t already know, Boston has it’s very own Teen Author Book Festival, it’s only been around for a couple of years, but it’s getting bigger every year!! And guess what? It’s entirely free!!

This year, 2016, the Festival will take place:

Saturday, September 24, 2016 between 9:30 am - 5:00 pm at Cambridge Public Library & Cambridge Rindge and Latin School

The event is still being planned, but the wonderful ladies who organize and plan it have already released a list of authors who will be in attendance, including:

Victoria Schwab, Erin Bowman, Amelia Atwater-Rhodes, Daniel Jose Older, Cindy Pon, Beth Revis, Marie Rutkoski, Roshani Chockski, and more!!

Hamilton Performance

I feel like people are missing something really key that happened in the 2016 Tonys performance.

Lin changed one word. But that’s all it took to change the meaning of the performance and the Tonys.

“Weapon with my hands.”

They didn’t just take out the muskets to show solidarity, Lin is trying to teach us that what we do, say and write will change perspective for generations to come. He’s showing us how we don’t need a gun or violence to fight for what we believe in. Like Alexander, we have our hands. Our writing. Our words are immortalised when we write, no matter who takes us away. The massacre in Orlando has devastated our country, but why stay silent? Why give them what they want and silence ourselves? We need to make something that is immortalised. Teach generations that come that you can take away our loved ones, but you can NEVER take our words.
