“the first hunger games was in 2026!!”
literally where did people get that from. there’s NO implied canonical year in any of the hunger games book. not to mention, the first book was literally released in 2008 and in the books the games implied to be in the distant future.
north america was like completely destroyed, then a whole new nation was formed, and then there was a whole revolution; the whole first games in 2026 is giving LESS than two decades for all this to happen. although, yes, i do like to think of panem as a younger nation, it would’ve still needed to exist for at least a few decades before the dark days. the first revolution also lasted a few years (i forgot exactly how many, it’s been awhile since i’ve done a reread.)
this theory doesn’t make sense because all three of those things COULD NOT have happened in less than two decades.
i generally just do not like it when people try and give the hunger games any year with our current year system (B.C./A.D.). although what i do like that i’ve seen a couple of people use is the A.D.D (after dark days) system. not only does it prevent the timeline from aligning and or conflicting with ours, it also matches up with the games themselves (e.g. 74 A.D.D = 74th hunger games); which make it easier to figure out what games happened what year.
anyway i do NOT like the first hungers games was in 2026 theory and it pisses me off a ton
Open Thread: Wattpad Refugees
With the recent rumblings about censorship and work deletions on Wattpad, many users are considering posting to AO3 for the first time. If that describes you, you may have questions.
This post is a collection of resources you can use to start finding the answers to these questions. If you don’t find what you’re looking for at the links below or you have something more specific to ask, please feel welcome to post questions in the reblogs and comments here.
If you’re an AO3 pro answering questions in these notes, be kind. We were all new once, and other fans helped us then. It’s time to pay it forward.

blocking tip: you don't have to wait to have a negative interaction with someone to block them. you can block them without ever interacting with them. I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone being rude to someone else and preemptively blocked them

If Yao and Ilyukhina lived, i still think they would have eventually started sharing clothes. After some time has passed, Yao is in Grace's fox cardigan, Grace is in Ilyukhina's skirt, and Ilyukhina is wearing Yao's bucket hat. And so on and so forth until laundry becomes practically communal.
it’s so funny when you watch a show or play a game where you know the fandom is super hype about a ship and you’re like “there’s no way they are actually like that™” but then you consume that media and are like “holy shit how did the fandom undersell how fucking gay these losers are”

Stratt has a calendar on the walls of her prison cell. There's a tiny scribbled date all the way on the other side of the small room, barely legible except for the year: 2037. Before bed every night she scratches through the day, each one bringing her closer and closer to the end.
The guards mock her. She's never getting out of here. What's she counting down for?
But for someone who's imprisoned for life, no parole, she seems remarkably at peace. She doesn't cry, she doesn't plead. She reads. She sings sometimes. She counts off her days.
Beyond the walls, the wars are blazing. People are fighting, and starving, and dying. But there are also people helping. People risking everything to save who they can. They still believe in the Hail Mary.
In 2037, Stratt crosses off the last day. This is the day she will escape, when the team who have been working in her stead will meet her outside the prison and whisk her away to her place as the head of operations where she belongs.
At the same time, almost twelve light years away, Ryland Grace wakes up out of his coma.
