Reading: Project Hail Mary. the movie absolutely floored me and i knew immediately walking out of the theatre that i had to start the book, so i’ve been reading it for like a week. bonus but i also just finished 17776 for essentially the same reason (my middle school space interest is coming back to me can we tell)
Last Song: Stone by Born Without Bones honestly that whole album is fire but i’ve had this song on loop i love the vocals so much
Favorite Flower: Blue orchids, probably started from minecraft if im being perfectly honest but then i got reaaaallllyyyy into botany a couple years back and learned the symbolism and all that which definitely fed the flames
Currently Watching: The Walking Dead has been my shit for a while im a HUGE fan (even if im just. slowly chipping away at it). currently on Bojack Horseman as well and its been wrecking me dude fuck that horse. I also don’t really watch The Pitt in my own time but bff has been watching it every thursday at my place so i’ve been catching bits and pieces
Current Obsession: TOMODACHI LIFE DONT EVEN JOKE LAD its been out for 2 days and my island is already level 17 (im trying to slow down tho cuz i dont wanna speedrun the whole game like week one)
Currently Working On: Long term, i’ve been making a comic for like 3 years, its my consistent project and probably my favorite thing i’ve been up to. In between that ive been trying to catch up on my work on an outer wilds fic (cherriebro fic given my track record are we surprised) which has been hard to do until recently cuz ive been moving but fuck it we ball

recently something that’s made me happy is starting a stardew valley game online with my friend! i forgot how fun it was to play games with other people, and it’s nice to take nothing seriously for a little bit and just chat/goof around in game with buddies :p

I think most recently the thing that’s made me happiest is that the weathers been so nice lately and everything is green and pretty again! I’ve noticed this year that tons of wildflowers are blooming near the side of the roads! (Hopefully allergy season ends soon so I can go outside and enjoy it)

i have a fun idea for a ‘tag your mutuals’ style ask game but no idea how to actually execute an ask game does anyone have literally any idea how to do that
i actually do think you should draw clocky trans people. no i don’t think they’re a stereotype or caricature. i think that’s a horrible thing to say about real people who exist. i think that’s a horrible thing to say about my friends and my family. i want to see your art of a trans boy with curves and long hair and baby face because that’s me. i want to see your art of a tall trans girl with broad shoulders and facial hair because that’s my friend. stop being scared to draw the people you know.
“I’m not going to draw a clocky trans woman because that’s how TERFs draw them” i don’t think my friends should be forced to only see themselves in artwork made my TERFs and transphobes. They should get to see themselves lovingly drawn by other trans people.

ok this one is ridiculous i made it during QEE because i spent so long drawing solanum alone for a piece where she was ultimately pretty tiny (but worth it because she turned out great and i was proud of the final product) and after finally finishing her i realized i still had to draw the prisoner, which was. daunting. to say the least. i made this to sort of practice drawing their shape before going in on the big drawing, but to also show the real and true fear coursing through my veins in that moment as i realized i was going into this no training cuz ive literally never drawn the prisoner till then. i planned to go more in detail with the feathers, or at the very least add some color, but then i decided “fuck it we ball” last second and just went straight for it in the final piece and never finished this. honestly im kinda glad i didnt i think its at its funniest like this
Hatchlings sets for the WIP ask? 👀
i had this idea for a post nova au focused more on the other hatchlings as opposed to just, yknow, the one you play as. i had all these ideas for how they would look and act and what they would be doing when theyre adults. i ended up with this big set of images that ended up in their own separate folder and everything. im actually still working on this idea cuz i think people would maybe like it quite a bit and also cuz i have like a trillion ideas rattling around in my skull about this. i didnt get much done past a couple silhouettes and SOME colored concepts, but i do still wanna finish things. you can see the sort of bullshit vision i had going on here.
i will say i actually did get a lot more done for Galena though, and they’re the only one ive fully completely finished, but i know if i post one then i gotta post all the others and i dont know how quickly ill actually get that done, so for now you can have their early helmet designs and early flat colors for what i had in mind (which is honestly almost entirely different in the finished piece)
OCEAN WATER‼️
OK SO awhile back there was this post i saw by @carlatsu (HI CARLA) that had me giggling for a couple days and i decided i wanted to make a full comic of it that was at best supposed to span a couple pages. i pumped out maybe 2 and a half before getting too nervous to keep doing it for some dumb reason.
you can see the exact spot i just. stopped. the full plan was gabbro was meant to have this sort of epiphany where they realize “oh shit its all just water at the end of the day. i wonder what it tastes like then” and they go to take a sip and it cuts to hatchling pulling up at the most convenient time like “HIIIIII GABBROOooo ok what the hell happened” and gabbro is just like at the shore on their hands and knees spitting on the sand cuz that water is a trillion percent not up to drinking standards by any means and it tastes salty and terrible and this is simply another event in the long line of gabbro antics for them. i might actually pick this one back up because its from november and i posted a little snippet of it when i was working on it and i refuse to disappoint.
