hey does anyone know how to wash a small but knowing clown doll? i want to clean mine because they're dirty but i don't want to damage their face or smudge the paint. thanks!

If your clown has removable clothing parts that can be safely removed and put back on then I would suggest removing them and washing them. To do this put the clothes in a bowl with hot water and a little bit of oxi clean, scrub and soak for a little bit and rinse throughly when done. This will remove any yellowing. Fair warning this might loosen any elastic in the clothes, it isn’t a big issue but if it happens you can fix it with a small stitch. This is particularly good for getting lace back to a nice white color.

If the clothes are not removable I would gently wash the outside with a rag and some soap. Dish soap will work fine for this.

Now to the doll itself dish soap and water will work fine on the cloth parts of the doll like hands and feet.

If the doll has any pen markings on its cloth you can remove them with germx. I once had a doll with sharpie marks on it, by applying a little bit of plain germx and some light patting the color came right out.

If there is any crud on the face of the doll you’ll want to find some kind of brush. If it’s not near the paint then an old tooth brush with some soap will scrub it right off. Commonly old bits of glue build up will create this kinda gunk that I mean. It should be easily removable. If there’s something stuck on the paint then there’s not much you can do that I know of.
