Survivors’ Birthday Significance

Wilson: April 23, 2013 is the date Don’t Starve was released for Windows/Mac/Linux. It was still in Early Access at the time.

Willow: Her rework was released on May 7th, 2019.

Wolfgang: Was added to the singleplayer game on October 2, 2012, during the beta (the Chrome era).

Wendy: November 11 is Remembrance Day/Armistice Day, commemorating the end of World War I. Not that that’s happened yet from her perspective, but it’s thematically appropriate.

WX-78: …I have no idea what the deal is with November 28th. They were added to singleplayer on January 15 and were already in DST when it launched its closed beta on October 3.

Wickerbottom: Not sure either; she was added to singleplayer on January 29th and also included in DST when it launched.

Woodie: His rework was released on September 12, 2019.

Wes: Another one whose birthday isn’t when he was added or reworked; he was added to singleplayer on February 12 and DST on June 17, and his cinematic was April 1st.

Maxwell: October 22, 2013 was when he got his full powerset in singleplayer with the All’s Well that Maxwell update. (He was, however, playable before that.)

Wigfrid: One day after the Reign of Giants console release?? She was added to singleplayer on March 12 and DST on April 21.

Webber: Reign of Giants was released for Windows/Mac/Linux on April 30, 2014.

Winona: Added to DST on September 13th, 2017.

Warly: Added to DST on July 25, 2019. (If they’d used when he was added to singleplayer Shipwrecked he’d have the same birthday as me mumble grumble)
