One of my most favourite shots of the episode is Ghost Nicki in the crowd, smiling and laughing, then Lestat pulls a goofy face, sees Nicki’s resultant laugh, and smiles to himself. Like fuuuuccckkkk they went through so much strife and grief together but the love was still there. It was still there and Lestat held onto that love centuries later, remembering him as he was and keeping that memory alive
