Hot take: Letting people call themselves and each other master shifters was detrimental to the shifting community. It instilled an unnecessary hierarchy and, even after getting rid of said hierarchy, distracts from the main idea of shifting. No matter how you see shifting, I genuinely do not think master shifter has or will ever be a real term or compliment. There are no master shifters, only shifters.

To believe shifting is an innate ability for everyone and call yourself/others (a) master shifter(s) is contradictory. Master implies it’s a skill and while there are skills that may help you that you can learn, they aren’t mandatory.

You are a shifter and that’s all you need. Take pride in that.

Todd Anderson is a cat

Here is my proof:

He’s always looking for a warm place. Bonus points if that warm spot is a human.

He loves to nuzzle into people especially Neil.

He falls asleep very quickly if you rub back and forth on his nose.

He drinks warm milk before bed to settle him down. (NOTE. Do not give any age of cats milk its not good for them. Cat milk replacement is fine but never cows milk.)

He sleeps a full 9 hours or more every night and takes a nap during the day.

Like most cats he clings to one person that person is his boyfriend Neil.

Sweaters are Todds fur keeping him warm and the cold away.

If sleeping in a bed with Neil,Todd will curl up on Neils chest with his head in Neils neck the warmest place.

Todd hates being wet if you try to put him in water he will scramble trying to avoid the water.

Whenever one of their friends goes to judge a mean person by their weight first, they give each other a little look

Sirius complaining about how the Hogwarts food is going to make him gain weight (he's got his own issues regarding food) and Lily angrily ranting about it to Peter later, how for some reason people's greatest fear seems to be looking like them.

Peter helping Lily understand how beautiful she is, hyping her up in her outfits, complimenting her, because she's gorgeous and deserves to be told how pretty she is (don't worry, Mary and Marlene hype her too ;) )

Peter struggling with his body image more than Lily because she's been surrounded by Mary and Marlene, where he has James, Sirius, and Remus. Not that they're mean, but Sirius and James tease him a bit and it's a vulnerable subject so he doesn't bring it up to Remus, as much as he knows Peter well. He feels a lot safer talking to Lily, knowing she understands. And she does.

It's not much, but it helps. Knowing someone else understands.
